Hi – Thank you for the reply. Is there a way to migrate my site from tagDiv Newsmag to tagDivNewspaper? Thanks.

Hi – Thanks for your suggestions. I still need help with your first one. The second one is resolved. The third one is resolved, but not in the way that you suggested.

1) You suggested to change the images to 300×250 (from 300×300) -> https://i.imgur.com/PaHY1Y2.png

See my screen shot: https://ibb.co/6nJQ4pq

As you suggested, I changed the image on the right to be 300 x 250 (the other two, i did not change). This did not help. Also, there is no control for the padding or borders around the individual images in the image block, using tagDiv Composer. Unless I did not understand what you suggested!

2) For the sidebar image alignment, you mentioned the different width and margins that were set on the element https://i.imgur.com/rG2xch9.png I removed them as you suggested, and it’s great – thanks

3) For my Text Alignment problem, I pasted your custom CSS into the Theme Panel > Custom Code > Custom CSS. It did not work. But, when I pasted it into Live CSS, it worked perfectly.

.td_block_image_box.td-image-box-style-2 .entry-title a {
padding: 0px;
}

Thanks for the great technical support!

Hi Calin, Thanks for the reply during the holiday week! Based on your reply, I think you looked at the wrong page.

Please check the rows of image boxes on this page – https://piracymonitor.org/partners/akamai/

And notice the image clipping, as in this screen shot
https://imgbb.com/tpSPFC5

And there is one additional issue – notice the alignment of the text that is placed below each of these images. I intended the text to be centered under the image, but it is not exactly centered. I experimented with the font settings for the image box but it didn’t make any difference. See screen shot – https://ibb.co/Wk516K6 – which also shows the settings that I am using.

Thanks
– Steve

Yes, it works! Thank you.
https://piracymonitor.org/partners/intertrust
Right now, the images are place-holders, and will be replaced with different images.

(So, yes! The titles for the items are now located below the images, and there is a custom URL for each image. The images are clickable, but the titles are not. Can the titles be made clickable also?)

Thank you – I will try that.

You gave me CSS to hide in-line ads on selected post pages (above):

.postid-(post number) .td-post-content .td-a-rec-id-content_inline {
display: none;
}

What is the CSS to hide the bottom ad on selected Post pages? I tried

.postid-9059 .td-post-content .td-a-rec-id-content_bottom {
display: none;
}

…but that did not work.

What I want: https://ibb.co/HFfx9MK

One more question – same topic… What are the default image sizes for the Image Block? I may need to use images with text in them (like “Download”). Because Newsmag is Responsive, I want to make sure that I can anticipate auto-re-sizing.

Or, even better, can I set “fixed” sizes for the images in Image Block? Thanks

Hi – Thanks for the quick reply. Your suggestion did not work. I want to be able to set up a row of images, as Block 16 does (like this screen shot), with the titles below the images. So when I click each image, it goes to a URL that I define (for example, to a page on a different Web site). Your example looks like it should work fine, but it did not.

Instead, I still get this (See this screen shot). I entered the CSS that you gave me, into the Theme Panel Custom CSS (See screen shot), but it shows the resulting layout with the titles still inside the images. Could I have done something wrong?

Thank you

Hi – You gave me instructions (above) to suppress the display of advertising on Post pages. This worked OK when I only had one ad on a page. But now, I have multiple ads (see screen shot 1).

How can I suppress inline ads and bottom ads? (see screen shot 2)

A second problem:

LiveCSS is no longer saving my custom CSS (are there too many CSS items?) See screen shot 3. When I click the blue “save” button in the lower left corner, an arrow keeps spinning and it does not save). Should I directly edit the WordPress file that LiveCSS edits instead? Where is that file – in the WordPress > WPcontent directory?

Hi Calin, What is the default width of headers (and pages) in Newsmag? I can’t find any reference in the online documentation.

I have been using images of 1100 x 175 px, but that size seems to be too wide for the theme. I had been using abstract images for this, but now I want to use a sports image and I can’t seem to size it correctly.

Or, what do I say in LiveCSS, to make sure that my images fit to width?

Thank you

Thanks Calin! That’s great. In the CSS, I see that you used the Post ID for that individual post (postid-9059). In WordPress, where do I find the postid-(number) for any post? I don’t know where to look.

Second question: Does tagDIV have a tool to help migrate Web content from Newsmag to Newspaper? Just reply with the link to an article, if there is one – I’ll come back if I have any questions.

Thank you

Best regards,
– Steve

Okay – Thanks anyway… So, I searched WordPress and found one!

I have tried it – it works…

Hi – One more question. I have placed a different header background image in each of my pages.

Is there CSS so I can define a background image for all Blog posts?

Thanks

steve@tvstrategies.com

Thank you Calin! As you suggested, I used LiveCSS to embed your code into the page header (using a different image). Works great!

One question: When I go to the Newsmag Theme Panel > Custom Code > Custom CSS, this code is not listed there. Someday I may forget that I have added this custom code to these pages. Is there a place in the Theme Panel where I can get a list?

Or instead of being lazy, I can write some documentation for myself… 😉

Thanks
– Steve

Hi – I sent you an email (to contact@tagdiv.com) a couple of days ago. Just wanted to make sure that you have what you asked for.

If you need anything else, please give me the instructions.

Thanks

Thank you Calin! I simply turned off the TagDiv Mobile plug-in and all is well now.

This case is now closed!

Hi – Thanks for the reply. Let’s say that the background image that I want in the header is this image (I may use a different image later).

https://piracymonitor.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/site-header-logo-gradient-1100×175-enigma.jpg

The problem is that this header background image also becomes a background image in the top menu and the main menu. This is not my intention. I do not want any images in the menus at all. Only the light-colored menu text against dark menu background.

Because I do not see any way to set (or remove) this image for the menus in the Newsmag Theme Panel, I think this may be an error in Newsmag. If I am wrong, please tell me what to do.

Or, if there is a custom code or CSS to correct this, please provide me with it.

Thanks! PS – I believe that the template is up to date = v4.9.2.

Hi – Thanks for the support! Which link are you asking for? Here is a link to the home page, which currently has no image in the header.

https://piracymonitor.org

If that is not what you asked me for, please be more specific.

Also, there is no ad in the header. Only a logo (Theme panel > Header > Logo & Favicon > 272×80 and 544×180)

Hi – Thank you for the advice, for changing the background image in the header. It almost works, but not quite.

See screen shot – https://ibb.co/pRvwwQY

See how the image repeats in the top menu, header area, and main menu?

What is the CSS so that the image does NOT appear in all three areas, and only appear in the header area?

This is the CSS that I used, with the URL of the source image.

.td-header-row {background-image: url(“https://piracymonitor.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Babbage-engine-topbar-3-1100×175-1.jpg”)}

Thank you

Hi – I turned off all my plugins, and then turned them back on, one at a time. It made no difference. Clearing cache made no difference either. The error still occurs. Do you have another suggestion? Thank you

steve@tvstrategies.com

Above, I meant to ask if I can use different background images **in the header** (which would be “behind” the header ad).

PS – Looking at some of the Newsmag demo pages… This layout can also work for me – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag_cars/

How can I see which Newsmag blocks and elements were used in it? Do you have a diagram?

Thanks

Hi – Thanks for the reply. Reducing the size of the header ad image did not work – I tried the image as 726×88 and 724×86 – so I un-did the change. The default is 728×90.

Regardless of the size of the image, if I put a 1px border around the header, the header ad becomes mis-aligned.

I would prefer to have a 1px border on each side of the header so I can have a lighter shade of background behind the pages, but unless you can think of another work-around, it looks like that is not possible. But thanks for trying!
