Thanks, Catalin. I deactivated and deleted the Jetpack plugin, but it does not help. I find it very weird that the pictures are clearly where they are supposed to be, the show in the backend, but not in the frontend. Have you had a look at the screenshots above? Not explaneable to me 🙁

Another thing I suspect: I created the sites with the WPBakery Visual Composer and still run a not-up-to-date version of that plugin. But I understand that you do not use this page builder in the theme anymore? Would it help to update it – and how would I do that? Or should I not use this plugin at all anymore?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Catalin, I appreciate your fast answer!
I deleted two plugins instead of just deactivating them – and surprisingly that helped, at least a bit. It seems, this problem is solved.
What stays is that no images are shown in the frontend. Here I described that a bit more detailed. Have you any ideas for that?

Just for your information: The plugins I deleted are “Envato market” and “Better search replace” and it surprised me that this helped.

Is it a good idea to delete everything via ftp, set up wordpress completely new and just use the old database? Or will that give the same result?

I tried now to update all plugins and the theme. Deactivated all plugins. Nothing helps, just now suddenly no pictures are displayed. This occured before, when all this trouble began, please see this topic I created then.
I also cleared all caches couple of times. My server provider sais it must be a problem with my CSS.
I am trying to annoy you here as little as possible, but I am running out of ideas and am really helpless here. Does anyone have an idea, where to get (paid) help? Thank you so much.

Any news here?

I changed the images URLs to https, you can see that in the screenshots.
Do you guys think the jetpack plugin might cause problems? I just swiched of the lazy load function and it seems to work (not checked yet with different browsers etc.).

The images are on the same server. What do you mean with “security settings”?

Hi,

I have the same problem, also just with Instagram. I am using Newspaper 7.1.1. and the latest version of the social counter 4.1.

Emptied all caches, but Instagram counter still shows a wrong number (Not 0, but very old). I know that the counter is not live and do not expect that.

Any ideas what else I can try?

Thanks!

Worked, thanks for your help!

Hello Catalin,

it works well to show content underneath the comment area, as long as I use the default template with a sidebar. When I use the same template but without the sidebar, it doesn’t show my content underneath the comments.

Any idea?

Thank you!

That was too easy – this way it does not work on mobile. I think, because it doesnt adjust the content to the width of the mobile screen anymore (See: https://www.dropbox.com/s/apgnn1jt1nbelnk/Screenshot_2016-03-11-14-31-38.png?dl=0)

Any ideas? Is it possible to put the width in percentage into the css?

Thank you!

Hi,

thats correct. You can find my site here: http://www.bruderleichtfuss.com

As I haven’t figuered out how to make it look good without the sidebar its still there now. Let me know if you need more information!

Thank you!

It kind of belongs to my changes I did like we talked about above, thats why I keep on using this thread: I had the idea that it might look good, if the text in my posts is as wide as my featured images (745px wide). I imagine that might be possible?

(Btw: I really appreciate your fantastic support here, thank you!)

It works, thank you very much!

Hi Catalin,

thank you so much!

By making these changes the next topic comes up: Is it possible to hide the comments for the readers by default and give them a “Show comments” button instead?

Thanks for your fantastic support!

Just for the record: I would like to do the same thing like cjm1982. Maybe for the next update 🙂

Hello,
I can not find the td_module_single_base.php (Screenshot of the folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sforou4w3606kd7/viasource.png?dl=0)
What do I do wrong?
Thank you!

There are still problems with this plugin. I needed to change the Instagram-Username. After the change, the counter constantly shows “0” followers. Caches are emptied and I deinstalled the plugin and installed it again – does not help. Ideas? Thank you!

Timo

Can’t I delete my post? Problem solved: I just discoverd that I installed a wrong version of the plugin – with the correct one everything works now. Thanks for your patience listening to my monologue here 😉

I did not know that there are two versions of the Newspaper theme – when I just downloaded again I found the correct version of my plugin in the folder old_version. What is that about?

Hi Emil,

weeks ago I sent you the mail with all the info you asked for. The issue is still existing. Did you try anything?

Thanks,

Timo

That does not really help me. It takes between 2 and 10 days until it happens, that the menus disappear. If I try it out that way, with about 10 plugins it would take me about 100 days without the website performance I am wishing for to find out which plugin that might be.

Where do I finde this “tagDiv speed booster” plugin people are talking about everywhere?

Thanks for your help, Marius – I regenerated the thumbnails and I am happy about that.

But still I have the other two problems, let me describe it a bit more detailed: First I used a text widget with html, then the link on the image was only clickable on a few pixels at the top. But that only happended, when the widget was one of the firsts in my sidebar – when i put the same widget at the bottom of the sidebar it worked well and the entire image was clickable.

The other thing thing: Using a module in the sidebar which contains pages. I.e. I would like to feature my “About” page in the sidebar, like I would be able to do it with posts. How exactly can I do that? What exactly do I have to type into the field “pages” (see your screenshot above)?

Thanks a lot for your help.
