You can update directly to 9.7.2 BUT it is mandatory before the update to delete all the old files of the theme. The new update has a upgraded core so overwriting the files will cause a lot of problems. We recommend uploading via ftp. Usually this issue is related to a firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request. Please verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.
I suggest to check your System Status and increase all the php.ini directives at least to the recommended values – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module which blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.

This is most likely a plugin conflict. Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Also make sure that you have updated the theme properly since overwriting the previous version of theme will cause a lot of issue. It is mandatory that the older version is completely erased before installing the 9.7.2 Here are some tips and tricks on how to update the theme: https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/

The about us option comes from the footer option and cannot be deleted. You can edit it if you want or you can create a footer page from the cloud library and create it as you wish.
