No need for a response. I found the issue. It was from the cache in a plugin. All good now, thanks

Hi,

Almost 5 years on and I need to re-open this post 🙂
Now that the Newspaper theme has a way of showing the modified date I do not need the code any more to show the modified date. I removed it from the custom CSS, however, I cannot find it anywhere in the site. I tried going through the CPANEL file manager but still nothing. When I inspect it in Chrome it shows this:

<p class="last-updated">Last updated on March 1st, 2024 at 10:56 am</p> from this page: https://searchgo.co/internet-speeds/

it doesn’t look very nice as it’s under the menu on the home page. I would appreciate any advice to remove this.

Thank you

That is perfect, Bettina

Does that mean there is not an option to turn off author pages?

Thanks

Thanks, Bettina, all good and am integrating the custom post templates.

Have a great day

Hi Bettina,

Tagdiv composer is only available for pages, right? It is not there for posts. Surely there is a fast and simple way of disabling dates on individual posts? I want to keep the existing layout and style I currently have and have the option to disable the date for posts that ar more like articles.

Thanks

Hi Bettina,

Thanks for your reply. I know that setting is already there (see my original question), however, can this be done on a single specific post – meaning that I want some posts with dates and some without? For example, I want a category named ‘blog’ and all posts with dates, the other categories, travel etc will have no dates.

Is this possible?
Thank you

Hi Calin,

Thanks for your reply. I did mention this is an HTML meta tag, right? It’s not a piece of JavaScript or analytics code or similar.

Can you close this, I figured it out. I forgot you had to go to this forum and enter the support key into the existing keys.

Great stuff

Thanks

Hi Vlad,

Is there a way to do this globally without breaking the templates. Last time we tried this it lost all sidebars when we did it globally from theme panel. If I do it one at a time then it works like this: https://searchgo.co/holiday-travel-china/

I’m concerned about changing the template due to sizes we already created for these images.

Thanks

Hi Vlad,

I think we are getting there – the dates look better now as bold so that visitors can see it has been updated per example: https://searchgo.co/travel-to-egypt/.

Will this appear in the meta description as being updated when indexed – for example in search engines will it appear under the old date or under the updated date?

Thanks

Vincent

Hi Vlad,

Okay, I am sending you admin details – I have also just upgraded to the latest version – however, all sidebars have disappeared and the updated text is no longer showing. It should have worked perfectly as there were not many files to replace and the site uses a child theme.

Email on the way – please would you also implement that ‘bold’ code as well, as I don’t want to fiddle with the site while it is broken with the sidebars.

Thanks
Vincent

Hi, The problem is still there on mobile – you need to go into the site not homepage and see the top of the page it is a large white space.

The updated date is now hidden on the homepage, thanks. – maybe somebody else here can tell me how to make it bold on the single posts page.

Thanks for your help

Hi Vlad, the problem still persists – the mobile still has white space at top, even though I moved the code to the other area. https://pasteboard.co/InDXq28.jpg

I do not know what you mean by activate it in functions – it is already activated as per screenshot and it doesn’t work as the problem is still there. https://pasteboard.co/InCocUS.png

Also, is there a way on the posting page that it can be darker or bold? SO that visitors notice that it was updated.

Thanks

Hi Vlad,

Issue – 1 – mobile header
On the mobile, the problem still persists. It did not change it at all. PLease can you confirm on https://searchgo.co/signature-townhouse-hyde-park/ for example?

Request – 2 – date
I placed the code in the child functions.pho – see screenshot:
It works on the posting page – however, on the homepage, it shows above the images see screenshot: https://pasteboard.co/InCr8n2.png

Also, is there a way on the posting page that it can be darker or bold? SO that visitors notice that it was updated.

Here is the code in child theme functions: https://pasteboard.co/InCocUS.png

Thank you

Thanks Calem,

I followed your instructions and works perfectly. How do I get it to justify to the far right? Even when clicking the ad element (and clicking align) it doesn’t look as if it’s aligning to the right, or will it change one it is populated with an ad?

example of banner ad in header

Thanks

I got it working now, not sure how but removed cache plugins, removed and reinstalled CloudFlare and a bunch of other stuff. I think so many people with this problem is worrying – this should be addressed properly as I want to find out what was wrong and ensure it does not happen again.

Hi Catalan,

Thanks for your reply. No, its not working, the font is black on red. The font colour needs to be white on dark. At the moment you can’t see the font unless you rollover. See here: http://imgur.com/QrzqeFp

I would like to make the font white.

Thanks

Hi Catalan,

I sued this:

/* ————————————————————————-
>>>> Change colour drop down – main menu
—————————————————————————-*/
.sf-menu ul li{
background-color: #303030;
}

.sf-menu ul .td-menu-item > a:hover, .sf-menu ul .sfHover > a {
color:#F0F0F0;
}

But the font colour i still dark, see here for example: http://www.viewpointsandreviews.com/

Thank you

Hi Catalin,

Thanks for your reply. However, it doesn’t answer the question. We are talking about two different things here.

The drop dow colour has a white background which looks odd on a white website background (You can’t see it very well).

If I use this CSS code it changes the background to the colour I want:

/* ————————————————————————-
>>>> Change colour drop down – main menu
—————————————————————————-*/
.sf-menu ul li{
background-color: #303030;
}

However, the text becomes dark and you can’t see the text. The theme panel does not control the drop-down text or drop colour – it only does this for the main menu itself and not the drop-down.

I think it takes a bit of time as I have it working now, there must be some kind of delay.

Thanks
