Maybe this’ll help too – i did the same in chrome with the console running and it seemed to display the following error (I say seemed to as I’m not really sure what I’m doing there!)

From what I know having a business plan you can upload and use any theme you want

So there should not be any problem. What if you activate the theme instead of the live preview, does that work?
There was a similar case a while back, the user mentioned that after discussing with their support the conclusion was that the theme is not compatible with something on their end for some reason

Upload theme then click on Live Preview Without activating and click on Theme panel get 403 Forbidden error.

Did you test the ads on a default WordPress theme ???
Also please make sure that is not a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, clear all cache and try again!

It is the same now, the ads are still not being served by Google. The same 403 errors appear. There must be a reason why Google is not serving the ads.

Hello! I’m building my site right now using the gadget demo and 5 days ago I put my Adsense code in the “sidebar” ad (I already have my adsense account activated and working) corecctly, without mistakes copy+paste, then inserted the adbox on my front page checking “sidebar ad” in the “use adspot from” line. The problem is that since then it always has gave the same error all the time:
“Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()”
The site is already registered at the Adsense page, it says “website verified”. I know it takes from 15 min up to 2 days for the ads to be showing on the side, but is gonna be one week and nothing, always “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()”

That post talking about fixing the 403 error doesn’t mention anything about deleting Adsense code from your site files. Will that work?
If that will work, how do I do that? I’ve already gone through the theme panel and theme files to try and delete all of it but I can’t find anything else. Will deleting the theme clean off my server then re-uploading it work? If not, where else can I look to delete the Adsense code?

This would explain the 403 errors. Somewhere you must have entered a code related to Adsense, either in the theme panel or the theme files. The theme doesn’t come with Adsense ads by default.

Thanks for your response. I’ve never had an SSL assigned to this domain so I don’t think mixed content would be an issue.
I fetched and rendered with Googlebot Smartphone in the old Google Search Console and it works and loads fine. Just not in the new Google Search Console. And apparently not in the eyes of Adsense.

We haven’t tested in a wordpress.com environment up to this point, from what I know there are users that use the theme successfully in those circumstances, while others have various issues it seems.
For example this user was receiving a message when trying to access the theme panel

That message is not coming from the theme, maybe the wordpress support there could have been able to clear things out.
However ultimately if the issue from above or other issues that may happen cannot be solved, we can provide a refund and you can try a different theme.
