This does not work. I even tried !important, clearing cache etc. I’m guessing the problem might be that the search bar I want to change is inside a Widgetised Sidebar.

I am using Content.AD ad’s – I have looked at the link you supplied for “non-adsense code” and then also checked the content.ad website and documentation but nothing says how to turn the code in to responsive code.

is there anyway to make this work I do not really want to remove the ad since it gets clicked on a lot.

My problem is with the display of other main categories at the place where you have highlighted sub-categories.

For example, if I have a main category called “News” having sub-categories as “Entertainment”, “Sports”, “World”. And another two main categories called “Articles” and “Photos” but both don’t have sub-categories.

– Sports
– World
Articles
Photos

When I click on News, the sub-categories display horizontally below the main menu…as you illustrated in your recent response. But when I click on “Articles”, “News” and “Photos” appear below the main menu…as if “News” and “Photos” are sub-categories of “Articles”. The place is expected to be blank since there are no sub-categories for “Articles”. I hope you understand now.

Probably good to figure out what is loading that stuff and where.

In our case we have dedicated server where we can control all this stuff vs having it load off of multiple other people’s websites, where you are limited by their control.

The theme is not causing your images to load on wp.com for example, so you need to figure out what is doing that then adjust settings for same.

Yes; this is actually correct. This is why you see some big publishers with blatant sticky ads. Those generally get served through the Doubleclick (DFP) engine.

Although, to be fair, on couple of our sites we were doing that for a loooooong time with normal AdSense ads, just not making the ad the sticky focus; meaning at the bottom of the sticky bar, not the top, so that “focus” would be on the “related content” and then when you got to bottom the ad would be at bottom, just like it would have been anyway.

But it’s best to err on side of paranoia. Keeping in mind the actual revenue these days from AdSense is about 20 times less than it was due to ad blocking.

Consider using local hosted graphics for locally sold ad campaigns, and loaded from a normal folder not one called “ads” as possible revenue replacement strategy.

You don’t need to use Glue for Yoast SEO plugin as All in One SEO Pack has Google AMP support (Accelerated Mobile Pages).

Well, you do have a variety of blocks available indeed. But none of them can cover my desired appearance. It’s like having a block 4 page with only two posts, with the first block taking a little more percent than the second. Say 66% the left block and 33% the right one. And at the second example 75% the left block and 25% the right one.

Also I would like to have a category page like that:

One post followed by ten other posts, and at the right hand side is the sidebar. But at theme panel options there is no module that could display content like this. I tried creating my own module and block to make it how I wanted, just like the image posted above; but I couldn’t make it work.

If you have trouble navigating in the theme docs here on the forum to the tutorials, here is link to my thread on optimization which can help you with some cool things for the functions.php file, such as removing query strings, emojis, etc. — easier to start on last couple of pages, frankly, than oldest pages — unless you want to

this won’t help probably with anything loaded off your CDN if they insert versioning for “cache busting” … where versioning is intentional to force re-cache when changed.

So, you need to figure out settings for your cdn/caching setup, as well as something like the above for WordPress generated elements.

Again – neither is theme related, but hopefully this will help in some way.

That is not part of theme…. it’s inherent to how wordpress works.

Plenty of tutorials online for how to optimize your site.

Basically you need to add a couple of lines to your functions.php file to remove “query strings” from your WordPress head/META data.

Also, if you’re using caching/CDN, most of the settings related to caching are in your caching/CDN setup and not the theme!

Come on please don’t do this to me again….I also had a problem with the code, but it wasn’t my fault as you can read above and now this and again. I followed everythign that was written here and it doesn’t work just like the code in the beginning.

This is no custom work, I’m just asking what the dimensions are and you guys answered it, BUT IT DOESN’T WORK.
