1. Please follow this topic to remove the More from the author
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/related-articles-remove-or-hide-more-from-author-newspaper-theme/

2. Use the code below and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area.

.td-more-articles-box .td-post-author-name{

Great Theme! Thanks!
How to hide the Author from the bottom of the Page Post and from MORE ARTICLE BOX?
I just set on PAGE THEME but these features seem not available.
Can you provide to hide:
1) “More from the Author” of the Page Post,
2) the Author from “MORE ARTICLE BOX”?

Like showing here >> https://snag.gy/uzB23Y.jpg

Thanks in advance,
Andrea

Hi,

Maybe you can use the team member shortcode -> https://www.screencast.com/t/UjhTyvxr but this will not be dynamical instead you can use single post author box -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Rhcbjaxfk , or if none of this helps you, than you can try some plugins -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/business-card-plugin/

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Catalin, in the section AdmineName there is the admin author name; this code always worked with the old theme version..How can I hide the author box for admin posts with the new version of the theme? The code seems doesn’t work anymore..

Hi, I’ve just update the theme and now I would hide the author box only for admin posts. I’ve already added this code on “Custom CSS area” before updating:

.author-box-wrap.ADMINNAME{
display:none;
}

It was ok until the update..but now doesn’t work..

Box - reply

Hi,

I do not quite understand what you mean with “full box”, if you are referring to full width of website then you need to set some template from tagDiv Cloud Library edit the template (stretch row and content ) https://www.screencast.com/t/i8SQ5eS4 .
Do the same with the category templates, author templates.
If you just want to have boxed website all you need to do is to set a background color or image.
Background introduction -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/

Thank you.

Hi,

Those settings will be apply only on default theme templates, if you are using templates from cloud you need to check the elements from that temple, because those came with individual settings, you need to edit the temple and delete the tags, author box, comments ( or other elements that you do not want to have ).

If you are referring to header style for the moment those are not include in TagDiv Cloud Library.

Thank you for your understating!

Hi, how I can set author box sticky on posts, and custom posts, so when the reader moves down, author block moves with him. I see such option available on pages, but not on posts.
Thanks

Heya,

I just seem to be unable to figure out how you remove the category links from boxes that have them. Can you help with that?
I cannot find any background colour options for boxes, pages or the footer.
Any way to have teaser or excerpt text on grid images, not just headline and author?

I try to use stock cloud template “Single post template” for my blog. But it renders exact as it is shown in the gallery.
I turned off: tags, author box, comments, date of post in my settings page. And everything works fine. But when I use the cloud template all this data is shown.

By the way: are there any cloud templates for header (mail) menu in the gallery?

I understand now. Note that those are not the same elements. AN example, for posts it’s the single post author box
https://www.screencast.com/t/BBf8choQ
For author pages it’s an author boxhttps://www.screencast.com/t/WIF3ns7Y

You could try and construct something similar with the individual author page elements
https://www.screencast.com/t/GhFAljJCYNx
To position them next to the other use the inline-block setting in the CSS tab of the element

I maybe not explained it right. I don’t use multiple templates, it’s just one template for all authors. But it 2 different layouts for author box on template page and on usual posts.
So I want to be able to set css either for template or for all posts/pages, that will be different. Here’s screenshots, of what I want.
Here what I have on post page, and I like thispost
Here what I have on author page from template, and I want to change that to same as on post page:

Hi,

So the author name here – https://www.screencast.com/t/e1baDzSU5 and also the author box
https://www.screencast.com/t/blQ4qnrnmHm

On way of doing it only for some posts, would be to create/import a cloud post template and remove the author name and author box elements from it, then apply it to the posts you want
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
These are the available cloud post templates – https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single
There you can preview and even edit them with the composer for testing.

Or you could set a condition in the post template used for the post. Something like this for post template default
Author name – https://www.screencast.com/t/4EDnOqygT
Author boxhttps://www.screencast.com/t/kQsBApk4N
So if not the author IDs for example 1 and 3 display the author name and author box. Author IDs can be seen like this for example – https://www.screencast.com/t/TgCPD80eT

So code without condition – https://www.screencast.com/t/XdfEGwqEkKoX
With condition will be as above. I found this example here
https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/how-to-write-if-author-id-1-do-the-action-in-php

I have tested this briefly and it seems to work. Here is the code for it
Author name – https://pastebin.com/AW0WUB4t
Author boxhttps://pastebin.com/VRknYdAF
Replace the default line of code for each with the new code. If you have a development copy of the website test this there before, if possible. If you have more authors add them like this – https://www.screencast.com/t/vTANMPJeG0W

This will have to made in the post template file, depending on what post template the post uses. The template files can be modified in a child theme if you have one, so they will not be lost after a theme update.

Thanks

Hi, I downloaded cloud template for authors page- “Author template 13 – Gaming”, and need to style authors box on it differently, then authors box on post pages.
i.e. on the post page, I have this block for css settings: author-box-wrap, and td-author-description but when I change values in this block, it influences also the template page. How I can style authors description and image on template page without influencing other author boxes?

Thanks

Hi,

For author’s box in posts please check the singles templates -> https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single , or maybe I do not understand well what you want to achieve.

Thank you.

hi

thanks. As far as I can see These are all (great) templates for the author’s site, but not for the author’s box below a post.

I would like to replace the box.

Hello, first of all, wanted to let you know I am a web developer and quite familiar with WordPress. That being said, I want to start and say I am surprised there is no email I can send questions to to get support. That being the case I am writing this on this board.

I am extremely bothered by the fact there are .less files in the Theme, which look like were evidently used on some sort of deployment to create a concatenated style.css file with many different options, and there is no information about this process provided. Basically if I want to change one of the widgets, or customize anything, I’d like to do it via the original css or less. Changing the style.css is a horrible idea. How come there can’t be information provided so we can process the less files as they originally were when we make changes? I feel like the makers of this theme want to restrict people’s ability to make their own changes. For example, the Author box looks horrible in the content panel. To think I can’t take that and make changes easily to it in a less file, which is where the styling is defined is frustrating.

Also want to say it would be nice if there was developer documentation included with this Theme. Also for the record, the main style.css file is 31,000 lines of code and for newspaper 42,000 lines. This is ridiculous and I question the performance immediately of this Theme.

Thanks.

HI,

I have an issue that I can’t fix by myself… I moved a number of servers and shared hosts in 2018 ( 7… ) because of speed issues, or lack of support, etc…

One thing always caused a problem: – the theme settings in the post page (the main category, subtitle, author name, etc boxes ) not copied over when I moved the site to another host, and I had to do it manually – with lots of extra hours of works.

Even I bought the wp-all-import/export plugin to make a little more help, but that also struggling to place it back to place where it should appear.
ANd all because it is an uncommon meta box and some reason something not right with it. The copied content also has inside the DB but does not appear on the post edit page at all…

Is it possible to convert those meta pieces of information to a more common ACF ( advanced custom fields)? I mean to make a separate table in the DB for the meta info?

Or some other solution to make easier to export and import when it has to?

2.:

COuld you make the plugins update more automatised?

I update the theme via the “Envato Market” plugin. Its make a very comfy way. But plugins just a mess always to de-activate, delete, download the theme package from Envato account, unpack, upload via FTP or wp- add , activate…

Why is it so complicated?

Please make the plugin updates also available via the theme settings plugins page or the WordPress update page.

Thank you for your hard work with this great theme and plugins, hope to see the more awesome feature in 2019! 🙂
