If you want to hide the Author box for a certain post, please notice that you can achieve this with a bit of CSS using the post ID. For example, you can see the next steps and the same thing you will have to do on your site, for your desired post page. -> http://screencast.com/t/I3BDRRNx

In order to change the size of the avatar, you have to change this value here:
http://screencast.com/t/qzjKRe1cljn and then use this css to position it properly:
.author-box-wrap .avatar{
width:initial!important;
}
.author-box-wrap .desc{
margin-left: 215px;
}
This will cause a miss-alignment on mobile phones though so you need to change the css and adapt the widget for responsiveness as well.

Also you have to set the authors by to display authors by post count in Visual Composer or in widgets area: http://screencast.com/t/zonMc9T2Zb Note that by editing the indicated file author box will display only three authors on entire site.
Before making any changes make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install.

Been working for the last few days working on changing the theme and then I started getting this error. Reinstalled WordPress and still get this error on a fresh install.
Cleared cache, turned off Cloudflare, reset DNS and nothing seems to work.

Hi,
The author box element was designed to work as a list, so there is no easy way of making it accross the whole content. you can however use 2 author blocks on a split row so you have 2 columns of authors. You will have to filter the authors for both blocks so you do not have duplication.
For the author thumbs you can use this css to make avatars round:

}
Note that the author avatars can be circles as the problem you mentioned comes from the aspect ratio. If an image is ‘wide’ and not square, you cannot make it a circle. if you want to have circles on your homepage, please use a block that uses square images like block 21 for example: http://screencast.com/t/TPI0J2hIbEOh
You can make a square round but not a rectangle.

Hello, our site posts have “Related Articles” and “More From Author” box enabled. I like this feature!
Unfortunately, both of these elements are displaying the same set of articles, under the “Related Articles” and “More From Author” tabs … even articles that are from different author.
Example here. You will see what I mean, by looking at bottom of that article, and toggle back and forth both tabs … same posts! 🙁
So apparently the array of posts being used to populate these boxes is somehow not filtering properly. Or the loop is messed up … or something! 🙂
Any ideas on where to look? Where do those elements get their array of posts? Maybe that offers a clue?

Theme’s post templates weren’t designed to display the avatar image on top of the post, only in author box at post’s end. To achieve that you have to edit get_author() function from td_module_single_base.php file: http://screencast.com/t/VxmdgrsFK You can use a similar implementation with the one from author box function: http://screencast.com/t/UoCQpobL7EG but image’s style must be changed a bit depending by pot template.

Note that this is a complex task which involve some customizations and also good coding skills are involved in order to be completed. As my colleague Bogdan said you above, this type of plugin is not tested with our theme and we have no idea about the theme behaviour with this plugin, sorry! Also, in our ads box, you have to add only the Google Adsense code and if you want to use other ads, you will have to check this tutorial, like so -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/ Please keep in mind that it’s possible that our theme does not support this type of plugin and therefore, the shortcode for ads, not working with this, sorry! Please try to read the plugin’s documentation and also, try to contact the author’s plugin because he should be able to guide you in the right direction.

My authors posting comments, filling in only the fields Email and Name in the Comments Box, not by entering the site through the Login Form. This may be the reason that the counter comments shows wrong value?

We would like to use a different field for displaying the more form this author at the bottom box (related articles and more form this author).
The reason is that all of our articles are published by our redaction and not by indidivual authors. So displaying the standard wordpress user (which is the case now wihtin the newspaper theme as an author) doesn’t work since it would display all the articles of the redaction instead of the specific author.
We have set up a custom field (by toolset plugin) for each author, which uses a tag.
Is there a way to display the more form this author box, showing the tag (=Author) for this post?

The theme does not have an option to display a co-author for a specific posts. To achieve that you’ll need a plugin whit a specific functionality or a custom code which generate the go-author box.

This will not work from the mobile theme. The author box is a visual composer element and the mobile theme does not use visual composer. The theme is compatible with buddypress but that does not mean that theme elements will get replaced by BP. The author box is a theme element that is there with or without buddypress and it was not created to link to buddypress. If you want to redirect the author box or author bio to a bp page, you need to create a 301 redirect: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-to-creating-redirects-in-wordpress/
The social information for users can be added in the back-end alone for the theme author box and author info. If you want to hack the theme files and remove theme elements replacing them with BP, then you need to edit the post templates: http://screencast.com/t/TnAyrRRy3ivx You need to replace the author box on posts for every post template you use on your site. Every post style has it;s own file.

Hey Catalin,
the “Authors Box” Widget provides a listing of all “authors” registered to a given site (or a subset of roles or the like). The widget is not able to display the information that are shown in the “about the author” area (profile picture and “about the user” text) related to an article or page.
Bogdan stated in another thread that the Nespaper Theme is not able provide this functionality by design and suggests looking for a plugin. Problem is that so far nobody seems to know if there is anything like this at all.

I installed BuddyPress which is main feature of my site and can’t manage/find in theme settings how to link Single post Author box BIO and “Social icons” to BuddyPress profile.
– with or without BP Should users still go to WP back end to complete Social information ? YES/NO
– User’s “Biographical info” completed in WP backend appears on Single post Author Box. When BP is activated, the bio info completed in BP doesn’t appear in author box, still only WP fields appear.
As a temporar solution for those 2 issues I can just deactivate Author box in posts. But still the author icon in posts meta will lead to WP author page, I need to BP.
Since the theme is BuddyPress compatible, could you at least inform what to add/modify in codes that Author icon,once BuddyPress is activated, leads to BP profile ? Perfectly will be WP user Social and Bio info synced and completable by users in BP. Thank you in advance. Mini.
