Theme Update Doesn't Retain Previous Settings - topic

I attempted to find my previous post with the same title but it doesn’t appear to be archived, so… here we go again.
I am using a child-theme of Newspaper
I do not have any alterations to the theme. I use the child theme merely as a good practices measure.
Newspaper theme is set to auto update.

Every time a new version updates the tag-div plugins uninstall and a majority of previous set settings in the theme panel revert to the defaults, such as logos, template thumbnail sizes, choice of headers, and more that I cannot remember but, I’ll make a list as I now have to once again go into the theme panel and change them.

Also I have to reactivate the theme with my purchase code every update as well.

I find this highly annoying, time-consuming and generally a pain in the ass.

Hello,

You can use an author template where you can have the author elements -> https://i.imgur.com/WePLWVF.png also, you can use a Flex bock and filter it to display the author posts -> https://i.imgur.com/7cOJGUa.png or a posts loop block, this is automatically filer.
Also, to display the other authors you can use the element authors box -> https://i.imgur.com/CSLP5Hx.png

Theme panel> block setting >meta info on modules /block >SHOW AUTHOR NAME

When SHOW AUTHOR NAME is active, the name of the author who wrote the post appears in posts.
When SHOW AUTHOR NAME is disabled, the name of the author who wrote the post will not be displayed in the post.

I will enable SHOW AUTHOR NAME. There will be an exception. Posts of the author whose username is ka_123 will appear. In these posts, the visitor will not be able to see the author’s name or the author box.

Hi, although I removed the author box from posts, the link to non existing author profile is still appearing in code. No author box visible in the frontend but still appearing in code

Hi,
The author box is to display the author how made that post (the single post template can be edited using tagDiv Composer).
Maybe what you want it is that another’s that are not roistered on your website to not be able to let a comment.

I have search all the templates but i cant find a template that has authox bow with author name after article and when im editing a single post template i dont see any wthor box, yet when an unregistered user navigate to a site it displays an author box
How i can remove it? it should not be so hard.
i have also tried to remove it with css with no luck with this code

Hello

I have a bit of a complicated question you may not understand. However, I will try by best to explain this.

Currently my site is giving too many internal links on the front page causing it to bleed off internal page authority. After some doing some research I believe I may have found how to solve this problem but do not know how to implement it. I was hoping it could be done with some custom CSS

My site is http://www.techbusinessnewscom.au

As you will see. When you scroll down all the items are part of the same front page. I have noticed in other themes/sites they do things a little bit different

Example of what I need to achieve. itnews.com.au (As you will see on the site when you scroll up and down the page there is kind of a background that stays static/still and the content area is what is what scrolls up and down. There seems to be two layers there. From what I can understand and explain. It brings the content area off the main page. This actually stops any links on the page being counted as internal

As the scroll happens on the site itnews.com.au you will see the content moves up and down with a background staying still and the footer area will stay static on the base of the page

It like the content area is lifted off the main html page or something.

If you have understood what I am trying to say here. Can you explain to me how this achieved

You can remove the Single Post Author Box using Edit with tagDiv Composer with a right-click you can delete => https://i.imgur.com/BnhhxVh.png , or selecting the element and with drag & drop place into the deleting red zone from the bottom right of the page => https://i.imgur.com/vkQVCjn.jpg

Hi. Even thouugh I disabled author box it constantly appears on right side of my posts, floating. Anyone have idea how to remove that? My site is curiousmatrix.com

    Here the HOW TO USE ShortCodes for COMMENTS

to keep website neat and clean I want to toggle (accordion) the comments.

so edit file:

/clickandbuilds/Ganzemedizin/wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/shortcodes/single/tdb_single_comments.php

almost last line where $buffy is returned and change it to

Hello

I have noticed the URL in single post author box is currently dofollow. I can only find where to make the social icons nofollow. But I need the URL http://www.websitename.com that is showing in the author box to be nofollow also

Where can I do this?

I have tried this css I found. To remove from category and keep on posts pages.

I found this info here but they are using different plugin

So I tried to use your CSS and added in the top suggested

It did not work. Still hidden from all pages. I want to show in my posts. But remove them showing in category pages.

Hello

I have been supplied the following CSS from a misunderstood question

The request was for to remove the 3rd party author box from my category pages only. However, I have been supplied with CSS that removes my 3rd party author box from the whole website including posts, pages, everything

I only want this to apply to my “Category Pages” Only

The reason I want this is because I am using a 3rd party author box plugin. But for some reason it is showing in my “Category Pages” I’s should not be showing in these pages such as

category/technology/

I do not know why author box is showing in the category/technology/ like this

Hoping someone can supply me with CSS code to remove the 3rd party author box from these category pages only. And have them “Remain” in my post pages.

My last forum question mentioned I wanted it removed from category pages only. But I was provided with ‘Global” CSS for all pages on site.

I think you have not read my question correctly. Which is a little bit frustrating.

You have provided CSS that removes the 3rd party author box from “ALL PAGES”

As I have written. This author box is showing up in my “Category pages” It should not be showing in a page such as category/technology/

The CSS provided removes the author box from all pages on the site and no longer shows in my posts “Where they need to be”

1. Remove the 3rd party author box from category/technology/ page
2. Must still remain in my posts

Why would this box be showing in category pages anyway? It does not do this on my site site

Hello

I am using a 3rd party plugin for my author boxes.

My current site http://www.technewsstage.com is only a STAGEING site of my current main live site http://www.techbusinessnews.com.au

I have found that within my category pages EG. https://www.technewsstage.com/category/stories/ the author box from my plugin is showing at the bottom for some reason and I am unable to find or work out how to remove this.

Can you assist. This should not be showing and does not show on my current live site

Can some CSS or something remove it?

If this is on Newspaper and you are using cloud templates, then you can edit the single post template with tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/gIzCOSv.png -> ad the author box under the next prev element -> https://i.imgur.com/dh3fqfy.png also the borders can be set in css tab per element -> https://i.imgur.com/JB0aR92.png
