What exactly is happening, are there any errors? Do you use the WPBakery page builder as well? Having both composers active would require increased resources, please check the theme requirements guide

For most users a memory limit of 256M would be sufficient. Make sure the other parameters are set according to the guide, contact the hosting provider if necessary.
I just installed it on a copy of my main site. All it seems to to is offer you a choice of editior for posts or pages. So to use the TagDiv editor you just choose clasic editor when you create a new page then you have access to it. I assume the full version 5 release will keep this functionality.
The update didnt break any pages or seem to effect the site in anyway.
There was some wierd text that i cant find again relating to WP Bakery visual composer. I dont know if you will be offering an update for that plug-in if its needed?

If you plan to use the WPBakery page builder for your website, deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin. There may be problems when both are active.

Do you use an older WPBakery plugin with a newer theme, or maybe old theme with a new WPBakery version? Try to use the WPBakery provided in the theme package you currently have installed

If you have a purchased license for the WPBakery page builder, use the same version as in the theme package. Don’t update the plugin unless the same version you update to is provided with the theme.

I can’t replicate the issue you describe using the latest theme version and WPBakery 5.5.1 provided in the theme package.

You can edit the page with the tagDiv composer, that way you can see what elements are used. That issue with the images seems to happen with the WPBakery plugin active as mentioned above.
Disable WPBakery and edit the page with TD composer, make any changes you want to the page. Use your own content, the default content is only for demo purposes. Let us know if you have more questions.

What page builder are you using? Theme blocks or grids for example will work with both tagDiv composer and WPBakery, so their shortcodes will work.
If you maybe use a different page builder and none of the provided composers are active, then the shortcodes will not work.
In that case you could try and use shortcodes provided by your page builder instead.

I just trying to create a brand new page and added a single VC Single Image on it using WPBakery Page Builder and I experienced the same problem. The hyperlink is ignored and is replaced with a single hashmark.
Is there something else I can try? Thanks!
Hi Janelle. As per the tagdiv team’s advice, you should not use tagdiv composer and wp bakery at the same time. In fact, the team recommends using td composer and uninstalling wp bakery. So, if you have not created any pages with wp bakery, deactivate and delete it. Nothing will happen to td composer. (I don’t work here)
Hi, lot of magazine companies have partner ships with others and so we need show their logos….this is important….and I can not find any official way how do that. Somebody else has talked about it here and no the back of the reaction….. There are only this options:
1) Switch Off your outgoing “tagDiv Composer” and use native WPBakery Page Builder only with line format 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6.
BTW your Composer editor still does not work properly for macOS!!! Editor elements are out of frame.
2) or make some block element for this, where i can show 6-8 images in original size and format.
3) or make compatibility for some 3th supplier of elements.

I’m running Newspaper v 8.8.2 and WPBakery Page Builder version 5.5.1 is showing up under installed plugins and is asking to be updated to Version 5.5.2 The plugin author’s page advises to buy a separate license even if you got WPBakery in a theme (naturally they want more sales).
Luckily I saw on this TagDiv page that we don’t need to purchase a separate license. It does however say we should uninstall the plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
I’m worried about uninstalling it because I might then lose access to the TD Visual Composer? Do I need to follow the instructions at the above link to remove the WPBakery plugin? Am I ok just to do nothing and let the plugin continue complaining about needing an update? I’m assuming the next theme update would fix this.

2. The four columns are made with “Title over image” element of the multipurpose shortcodes.
Recently we updated to newspaper 8.8 and everywhere that we’ve used the “single image” module in wpbakery is now not working. It is filling the module with the image as a background image instead of letting us define the image size.
You can see multiple examples on our site, but here is a page with two modules (the logo and the bottom photo)
So the single images are still not working as before, try on a new page as a test. Place a single image with WPBakery, set an image and a custom link. Check if that works. Maybe also clear any caching as well as CDN if used.

When the theme is updated the social counter and tagDiv composer plugins should update automatically, it seems however that this fails sometimes. If that is the case they will deactivate themselves and an “Update” button should be displayed here for the plugins

Once you manually update the plugins would work properly.
If you use WPBakery and the tagDiv composer simultaneously, in some situations there might be problems. But not with the social counter, that would work with either of them.
I recently upgraded Newspaper 6 to Newspaper 8 and I am noticing that the Custom Links in all VC Single Image modules cease to render and ignore any parameters entered into custom_link field. The hyperlink is replaced with only a single hashmark and the field is ignored. I have attempted to edit the raw text as well as using the WPBakery Page Builder and the fields are saved and editable but ignored when rendered in both. I have also attempted to manually use the parameter “link” as well as “img_link” by editing the raw shortcode in the build-in WordPress editor in Text mode and it also fails to render.
Here is an example of the raw shortcode text using the build-in WordPress view to show the raw code that I am attempting:

And here is how the VC Single Image is rendered in the DOM:

You can see that neither the href field is being populated from the link or img_link field, nor the id field from the el_id field is being rendered.
These fields works perfectly fine in Newspaper 6, but not on the upgraded Newspaper 8.8.2. I have attempted to render this in a child theme of Newspaper 8 as well as the native Newspaper 8 theme and both fail. The plugin versions in use are

- td-api-plugin 1.0.2
- tagDiv Speed Booster 4.9.1
- tagDiv Social Counter 4.4
- tagDiv Composer 2.3
- tagDiv Books custom post types sample 1.0

Thanks. When tagDiv Composer was launched I had already designed my posts and pages using WPBakery… at some point when I have time I should switch over. In Composer can I design a square block without having to code it myself? Or would that require coding on my part?
To avoid some conflicts with my wpbakery page builder plugin, the
tagDiv Composer plugin is desactivated. Is this could be the origin of the problem ? Because the rest of the site seem to work properly expect this.

You must be using an older version of the theme and also plugins, that version of the Visual composer (now WPBakery page builder) would be a couple of years old.
We introduced the tagDiv composer in version 8.0 of the theme as the new main page builder, please check the changelog at the bottom of this page

Many new features in the theme are only for this composer, not WPBakery.
If you use such an old theme version, there will probably be issues using the theme with latest WordPress as well. It is recommenced and good practice to keep WordPress, the theme and plugins up to date if possible

After you update the tagDiv composer plugin will be activated automatically. As a note, if you update and you used WPBakery on posts, there could be problems with the post layout. Also there could be problems with page elements specific to WPBakery.
If any of these problems are present, it would be best for the moment to deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin.

That module is not used in any block or grid, it can be selected in the theme panel to be used in category pages for example, tag pages etc.

The tagDiv composer flex block would be a good recommendation, but with WPBakery it is not available unfortunately.

I tested this again, the tagDiv composer can be activated along the WPBakery page builder. There could be problems visually or in functionality when both are active however.
WPBakery specific elements or layouts may not display properly, or if you also used the builder to create posts.

Having 2 page builders active require more resources so make sure there is enough WP memory, for most users a value of 256M would be sufficient

I am having a issue when i try to edit my fronpage. When i try to edit a page, visual composer is not working.
WPBakery Visual Composer verison is: 4.1.2. I saw some post saying use tagDiv Composer instead of visual composer but i dont know how to install it – it does not show up anywehere
