Hi,
The thumbs for the images on blocks/modules are created by the theme and loaded at smaller sizes so when on phones or tablets depending on the screen view the thumbs need to get a bit stretched so that they fill their container. You could change this by adding a new thumb size or altering the one you use and have it to use a larger one which would look better on mobiles or tablets.
The size of the images can be changed from functions.php: http://screencast.com/t/FbsZ2g0g
And regenerate thumbnails: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/
Please also note that if you alter it’s size it you might need some css modifications.
You could change it’s color via css but only if you’re using different blocks on your sidebar as if you’re using the same block/blocks you can’t target via css just one and change it’s color.
Let me know of your situation I’ll let you know if it can be done easily.
Thanks
Hi,
Please try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css: http://screencast.com/t/LgDxLYU0fHZD
.td-a-rec-id-sidebar{
text-align: left !important;
}
Also you can use “Text with title” > “Text Block”(without title) > “Ad Box”
Thanks!
Hi
Please try this custom css for homepage on tablet view: http://screencast.com/t/bcR9zJYFZ
@media (min-width: 767px) and (max-width: 1018px) {
.home .td-page-wrap .td_rec, .td-social-wrap {
padding-bottom: 0px !important;
}
.home .wpb_widgetised_column .block-title{
margin-bottom: 5px !important;
}
.home .wpb_widgetised_column .widget_text {
margin-bottom: 15px !important;
}
}
Hope this helps!
Hi,
I’m not sure what you mean. You can change filter posts for block 1 from settings: http://screencast.com/t/2lplEQQa
Also please provide your site URL and some screenshots about title issue.
Thanks!
Ah. You should likely report that to the “group owner” if you didn’t already so that the admin can block/remove the pirate. If it’s a pirate group, obviously that should be reported to FB.
Wild. I suppose this is why TagDiv added the registration option.
Thanks for the help so far.
Two things I’ve noticed:
1. It says ‘This theme requires the following plugin: WPBakery Visual Composer.’ at the top of the page. I currently have Version 4.3.5 installed.
Also there was originally two of these plugins installed. I deleted the lower version.
2. When tagDiv Speed Booster is activated it turns the mobile site to a blank page. – it’s currently still inactive.
So it looks like there’s an issue with the ‘WPBakery Visual Composer’ and the tagDiv Speed Booster seems to block the mobile version being displayed.
Anyone recommend a next step?
Regards
Steve
I installed theme and install demo content but it didn’t show child category below DON’T MISS on Home page.
I select >> Show child categories menu: Show All
How can I make it appear?
I really like the design that has been chosen in the ‘tech demo stack’ in the live preview of the theme – from fonts to blocks. Are these settings available somewhere?
Heya,
Ya, I solved it..sorry for getting back that late. Basically, the theme has the schema.org attributes all over the sidebar, in every link from the list. If you enable rich pins on Pinterest, it will scan your article page, and it will get the first link from your sidebar and get that.
The solution is simple, you must edit td_block.php and remove the itemprop attributes and add open graph to your article page. You can do that manually by addning the meta to your header or just install a plugin that does that for you.
Hello, the smart sidebar my pavlikeni.com site is not working. I can also not add more ad blocks there. Could you please help? Thank you.
Hello again,
I ran the SQL query to update the shortcodes, nothing to update…
The issue appears to be with the “Homepage” template.
I was able to recreate it creating a page from scratch and using Block 15. And there it goes again. Overlapping content as in the image posted earlier.
Any ideas?
Hello,
Since the last update I’ve experienced some odd issues regarding some blocks.
For instance, Block 15 seems to show in white characters other posts and the block title overlaps the content itself.
I’ve done a clean install, cleared browser cache and nothing seems to do the trick.
That is the demo that you guys provide for testing purposes.
Could you please advise what is wrong and what I can do to fix it?
I´m using Block 8 on my front page and on a computer screen it looks great. However if reduzing the window size to where the thumbnails are starting to slide down in size with the actuall window (or viewing the page on a tablet or a phone in landscape mode) the thumbs get blurry to the point where the look like, well, shit 😛 (sorry)
I understand this is because the thumbnails used is being maginfied due to the responsive-ness. However I was thinking there must be a way (guessing via custom css) to load a larger size of the thumbs into the default thumb-container so that when they enlarge the images doesn´t go so blurry.
Se this picture for refrence of how it looks:

My second question is if there is a possiblity to change the header background color for just one of the widgets used withing the sidebar. I know it´s possible to change the regular blocks by just chosing Header Color, however this option does not seem to be present when using Blocks as widgets on the sidebar.
Hi, I bought Newspaper theme on 7th of this month, I managed to create a homepage, now my question is about the sidebars. How to make the sidebar’s block 1 to have the same category as the article’s? Also the article title is set to 100% width, I need it within the article container. How to do this?
Thanks
Esh

Woocommerce, Buddypress, are some example and stuff like that. I cannot disable them from the theme panel, i need to know how can i customize the theme so use only the things that are really important for my site, without codes of stuff that are not working on it.
Do you have a guideline to have a lighter version of the theme, in order to load only the essentials?
Fabian
Hi,
We know about this and it seems that it could be a render issue. We are still investigating this though and we will fix it as soon as we find a solution.
Until then you could use this custom css and adjust the line height of the block title like this: http://screencast.com/t/jdMqdqQuK
.block-title {
line-height: 30px !important;
}
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks!
Hello,
We have rich pins enabled on our site. Whenever we pin a post to Pinterest, instead of showing the title of the post, it shows the title of the most recent post in that post’s category. So when we post http://www.gorare.com/2014/02/surf-turf-classic-elegant-simple/ on Pinterest, the title comes up as “Flashback Friday: Blockbuster Brownies” instead of “Surf and Turf – classic, elegant, simple”. Pinterest uses the same open graph tags as Facebook uses for its posts, and Facebook’s posts are coming through correctly. The og:title meta tag is correct <meta property=”og:title” content=”Surf and Turf – classic, elegant, simple”/>. Have you guys experienced this issue before? We’re currently in talks with Pinterest about this issue.
Hi, unfortunately this is not what I am looking for..i want to place my logo in its full size alligned to the left and a smaller 468×60 ad block to the right. Both have to appear on the same line. What happens when I post the smaller ad is that the logo size does not increase… How to solve this?
Thanks.
Hi,
That sidebar is for Latest Articles and you can’t move it, but you can create a custom sidebar: http://screencast.com/t/52yLvSn8I add widgets to it: http://screencast.com/t/tUjeCu0Z4
And use Widgetised Sidebar block to display it: http://screencast.com/t/pmxFUUAfLE
Result: http://screencast.com/t/sdJSfFcf
Also you can use a widget/block to fill that space if you don’t want to create a custom sidebar: http://screencast.com/t/m7I0lxnxY32
Result: http://screencast.com/t/0GqvNImIBPr
Hope this helps!
I changed title lenght for “Trending Now” block,but no change > https://lne.st
Hi,
Title from text block can be changed only with custom css: http://screencast.com/t/a91ZsAF0c
.wpb_text_column h1{
font-family: Ubuntu;
font-size: 20px;
}
.wpb_text_column h3{
font-family: Ubuntu;
font-size: 20px;
}
.wpb_text_column p{
font-family: Ubuntu;
font-size: 15px;
font-style: oblique;
}
Also you can add an extra class and customize only that text block: http://screencast.com/t/CyFOCUiLWA
Result: http://screencast.com/t/tErLYTranm
Hope this helps!
Hi,
We know about this issue and we will try to fix it.
The slider is designed by javascript and it is difficult to find a css solution for this. You can try this custom css that remove the border, but you will see a part of next image on slider: http://screencast.com/t/g53nxrPPRgX
.td-pb-row [class*="td-pb-span"]{
border-left:0px !important;
}
.td_module_wrap.td_module_slide.td-image-gradient{
width: 1021px!important;
}
.td-theme-slider.iosSlider-col-3.td_mod_wrap{
width:1021px!important;
}
.td_block_slide{
z-index: 1;
}
Hope this helps!
Hi,
You can change title lenght for “Trending Now” block from Theme Panel: http://screencast.com/t/C7L9e4cIry

This is what my host sent me:
Your server’s issue is that there are some very inefficient SELECT queries and was exacerbated by a crashed table. The crashed tables have now been repaired and fragmented tables have been optimized but the inefficient queries need to be addressed.
Regarding the SELECT statement on wp_posts, the query being run (see below) involves the tmp table. This is a very ‘expensive’ query, cause it involves writing the data to a location on disk, which is I/O intensive and imposes a high load on the server. Unfortunately, these queries could be related to wordpress stats/metrics/data collection/plugin/themes. The quick and dirty fix is to put the tmp tables in RAM for cases where there’s excess ram on the server, which your server unfortunately does not. Identifying the plugin/theme/etc that’s causing the proper way to go.
Copying to tmp table |
SELECT SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS wp_posts.ID FROM wp_posts INNER JOIN wp_postmeta ON ( wp_posts.ID = wp_postmeta.post_id ) WHERE 1=1 AND wp_posts.post_type = ‘post’ AND ((wp_posts.post_status = ‘publish’)) AND ( wp_postmeta.meta_key = ‘post_views_count_7_day_total’ ) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY wp_postmeta.meta_value+0 DESC LIMIT 0, 5
The bolded portion is where the problem lies, which looks like it’s coming from the view counter. Is there a better way to optimize the code or should I just disable that portion of the theme altogether? I particularly enjoy showing articles that are trending so I’m hoping someone has a solution other than turning it off.
Hi,
The theme doesn’t require code modifications, all solutions provided by me are either server optimizations (gzip compression, browser leverage), image optimization (when you deliver uncompressed/uncropped images and your page has 4-6Mb multiplied with a large number of visitors it will certainly lead to a blockage), cache. The Speed Booster is not that important, it will just move js and css at the page end giving the illusion that the page loads faster because the js/css executes after the other content elements are loaded. All those optimizations should be done regardless of the theme used and unfortunately we couldn’t include them in the theme as an automatic feature. I’ve made a guide here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ – the setting presented on the guide were taken from our demo server – also it requires to regenerate the thumbs – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/
There are also discussions on the forum on this subject – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/pagespeed/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/
Sorry for all the trouble you encountered with our theme, we can offer a full refund, just send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and we’ll discuss the details.
PS – We’re testing the latest version of VC, on our tests it behave properly, we’re trying to identify why it uses so many resources on some of our clients servers. We advise anyone who has trouble with the latest version to switch to the previous one (4.3.5) which should work fine.
Thank you, Emil G.
