Innerhalb der 3 Spalten legst “Block 3” an. Dort kannst du ja Kategorie auswählen und Anzeige auf z.B. 3 Artikel setzen Excerpt gibt es hier nicht, da müste man im der entsprechenden Datei “fummeln”. Oder hat er das mit Bordmitteln so hinbekommen?

I’ve got the custom block and module working. But I’ve run into another issue. I’m displaying sub categories and using the Load More button to load posts using Ajax. Except that when ajax loads more posts it’s not displaying them in the 4 column layout I’ve programmed into the custom block and module. I assume there is another file I have to modify to output the correct ajax?

Also, by any chance, will the Teaser Grid component of Visual Composer ever be supported?

I found a solution. Here is it:

Edit Newspaper/includes/app/shortcodes/td_block_3.php:

        $td_query = &$td_data_source->get_wp_query($atts); //by ref  do the query

Add the following line before it:

        $atts['offset'] = 5;
        $td_query = &$td_data_source->get_wp_query($atts); //by ref  do the query

Edit Newspaper/includes/content_builder/td_data_source.php

        extract(shortcode_atts(
                array(
                    'category_ids' => '',
                    'tag_slug' => '',
...             ),
                $atts

Add the following element to the above array:

                    'offset' => 0,

And add the following line after $args created:

$args['offset'] = $offset;

Thanx for your answer ! Basically I used the page builder/visual composer, but not the way I should have (and now I’ve understood that I needed to use the block 3).

Now it looks like it’s ok…

I ended up changing function inner($posts, $td_column_number = '') to force using 4 columns.

On a side note, I think I remember reading a post about search being broken for media upload/ selection… Is that going to be fixed still?

No I don’t want to select subcategories, but I in the end had to to make a brand new category and place all my categories as subcategories, in order for them to appear in the block2 tabs.

Besides that I have a new problem with google.
When google was crawling my site it keeps showing me that

Since I changed the theme I got over 400 Crawl Errors.

I spoke to my hosting and everything is fine with them?
Is there something that I have had to do so that google can crawl the new layout?

I’ve added this to the todo list – we already have a custom field that works with youtube, vimeo, daily motion but it also pulls the thumb automatically. I will make it work with embed codes also.

In the block, how would I tell it to do a 4 column layout? For example, I’ve started off copying Block 3, renaming it block 6 (and corresponding code), then added a case for 4 columns…

I already tryed some time before to integrate it (you can still see old code in our file /includes/class/td_video_support.php) and it was not working very well due to the small thumbnails served by them (not useable on any of our sliders and form what I can remember smaller than our thumbs as well).

can this help? (I think your problem can be solved by using thumbnail_large_url )

Why waste your time stuck on this feature when you can look into opensource code and learn from it? Why reinvent the wheel when you can look at one for inspiration and make a better one for your racecar 😉

Is that not why wordpress is so good?
