You shouldn’t enable them if you don’t know what they do, we only recommend using page cache, some of the settings may break the site functionality.

Speed Booster is optional and it only moves the js/css at the page bottom, it’s not a substitute for cache. By doing this it creates the illusion that the page loads faster because the html loads first followed by css/js.
This problem may appear because of a conflict with another plugin, try to disable all plugins, enable Visual Composer and Speed Booster, then enable the rest of the plugins one by one, see which one doesn’t work with SpeedBooster.

Unfortunately we did not tested Facebook plugin with the Newspaper, so I can’t provide you a solution for this.
Try to disable all plugin and leave only Visual Composer and this 2 plugins active if you say that those 2 plugins worked well together, maybe is a conflict with another plugin. Also empty your cache.

Please update your Social Counter plugin to the latest version from /plugins folder that comes with the theme files and add it again in your sidebar. In our last theme update some shortcodes had been renamed and I think that is the issue with the text block(it doesn’t recognize social counter and doesn’t apply settings for text block): http://screencast.com/t/wO3jMZvaVm3 and clear cache.

can you please tell me how i reduce my first byte time “ttfb” i have dedicated server with 4 gb of ram and 2 core of processor. now the problem is i have full page cache enable with w3 total cache but when the ttfb load it depends on database so how i improve my ttfb??

I have tried removing the code with no effect. I have now commented it out… also no effect. Cleared my browser cache in case that was the issue. Still nothing had changed. See screen shot for my code as it is now… this is the main functions.php file in the newspaper folder (not in my child theme).

It worked… One more thing i would like to ask which is regarding the cache plugin… I have installed W3 Total Cache and i’m not so familiar with this plugin bcz previously i was using WP Super Cache..
As the documentation say I should only activate page cache.. i did that already but there are more setting on the page cache tab should I just leave them as they are? Or do i need to make any changes??

1a. Not sure how this is not working for you as I have also made tests using the offset feature and haven’t found anything wrong.
According to your latest articles section, which displays the latest art. added, the first 5 posts of the “Popular” block are skipped and the count starts from this post: http://screencast.com/t/W4Ojfd4j0aY7

This means that the offset feature works for you also and you need to check the configuration you’ve chosen for the posts from the big grid.
1b. The “Unique Articles” feature, when enabled, it only shows the posts once on the page, so the latest articles appear at the top of the page and the oldest at the bottom affecting the post from the latest art section also.
2. I have tried to recreate this but haven’t managed to do it. Could you please provide more details about this. A screenshot would help and also try this without plugins and make sure you empty cache/purge files.
3. You need to enable them from theme panel > block settings for each module/block: http://screencast.com/t/osrKgatSEF
By default are disabled so you need to enable them for the modules/blocks you want.

Please also test this after disabling the css minifier/html compressor and make sure you empty cache/purge files afterwards then test again without plugins.
Add this css in theme panel > custom css for the mega menu issue:

For the “Related posts” issue, after I inspected your site I noticed that the images are loaded at their original sizes which should not happen so I suggest you follow this guide and regenerate thumbnails: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/

First please make sure you also test this without any plugins active and leave just Visual Composer plugin active and also empty cache then check again.
If you still have this issue please make sure you download and update your theme to the latest version (4.6.1) then let us know if you still have issues with it and also provide your site’s URL so we can check this.

I suggest you also try this without any plugins active, empty cache and/or purge files then check again. Please also switch to a default WordPress theme like twentytwelve/ thirteen/ fourteen/ fifteen.. then test your site again to see if your server response time changes.

I having the issue of site loading speed just after changing my theme to Newspaper.. with my old theme the load time was less than 2 seconds.
Currently it’s more than 6seconds which is too much for a site like mine. I have deleted most of my plugins and i tried W3 total cache as well… their is no difference in the speed.
I have followed the guidlines from the doc. but seems like nothing is helping… You might say that the images are not optimized… With my old theme i had more large size that i have now i compressed all my images as well but that didn’t help me.
I contacted my hosting provider and asked them weather they have some issue… they told me that from their end everything is fine… It’s theme new theme which is causing problem.
I would like to give me a quick solution on this so that i can resume my work. my website URL is http://www.magscroll.com
We are new startup and we changed our theme from the old to newspaper because we saw that technorati is using it.
