Hi there,
I have recently updated to version 7.3 and noticed today that after updating and clearing the cache (and all browser caches) that my author and date meta info on posts is appearing disjointed. It’s very strange because I was able to get it back to normal with continued cache clearings and browser refreshes, and then it would come back without warning (both logged in and out of WordPress dashboard). I have no idea what is going on. You can see a couple examples below.
Here is what it should look like:
http://www.drbillsukala.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screen-Shot-2016-07-29-at-5.53.37-PM.png
And here it is when it gets disjointed:
http://www.drbillsukala.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screen-Shot-2016-07-29-at-5.53.23-PM.png
Note: the above happens in all smart phone browsers in Android and iPhone. I don’t think it’s a text size issue because it was working fine before the last update.
On Google Chrome it is disjointed as well.
I have checked the td-module-meta-info in the source php files from before and after the update and they are the same.
If you go to my website (same as in the link URLs) and click on some of the articles, you might get to see it live.
Would welcome any input you may have. Thank you very much for your help.
Kind regards,
B
Hello Kjray,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.3) and also, the latest version of required plugins -> Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1. Clear all your caches and check again.
Thanks for your message!
That code should do the job Bogdan 🙂
I’ve add it to ‘custom css
cleared all the cache
The dates are still there 🙁
How to solve this?
Thanks!
Hello rafaelmontilla,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme -> Newspaper 7.3 with Social Counter 4.1 and Visual Composer 4.12, clear all your caches and check the results.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your message!
hello,
Are you using a third party login system by any chance? Our theme login will have to be disabled if you use a custom login. If you don’t use any other login widget besides the theme one, then please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you user it.
Let us know if you still have trouble with this.
Thank you!
Hi,
We have no reports of this issue and we have tested it on our end but could not replicate it. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. If the problem is still there please provide a link to your site s we can inspect it and provide the proper css.
Thank you!
Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’re using an older version of Newspaper theme; http://screencast.com/t/TFwZHcqJK Try to update the theme at V 7.3 which is available on themeforest, clear all caches then test again.
Thanks!
Hi
I’ve made a few tests on my side but couldn’t duplicate this issue. Make sure that you update the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ also remove any custom code you have added if you have some, clear all caches then test again.
Thanks!
Hi
Please make sure that you’re using V 4.12 of Visual Composer which is included in theme’s path, clear all caches then test again. Here you can check the update guide for Visual Composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
Hello hmader,
Please notice that the Jetpack is a very complex plugin which has a lot of modules which is not tested with our theme. Some of these might interact with the theme and cause this issues. For example, Photon module it seems to be a troublemaker plugin and we do not recommend using this. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
I have tested this on my end but could not replicate the issue. The slider was the same and the content width did not change. There were no changes made to these element. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test again.
If the problem is still there, please provide a link so we can inspect it.
Thank you!
Hello neilw,
Please update your Visual Composer to the latest version of it -> 4.12, clear all your cache and check again.
Thanks for your message!
Hello,
Please check the sidebar name when you create it. If you use any symbol in the sideabar name, these will get stripped by WP of content. You cannot create a sidebar without a title: http://screencast.com/t/XEl8JhzY
If the problem is still there once you remove any symbols from your sidebar names, please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
Let us know if you still have trouble with this.
Thank you!
Hi Andrei,
yes, I have tried to deactivate W3 Cache and the problem has gone away. So there seem to be a conflict with the theme and W3 Cache following upgrade to 3.1. We didn’t had issues before. We might try to go to WP Super Cache then if it is the one supported by yourself.
Cheers
Simone
Hello Andrei
We have made all the steps that you have type to us but with no success
We have clean all so WordPress temp and cached files…
I can give you access to check what is wrong… I don’t know what to do more to fix it
Chris
Hi
This errors occurs when the query fails but we didn’t received a similar report so far. I am not sure why this happens or if the problem still exist on your site as I’ve check it and now it is displayed fine on both mobile and desktop devices: http://screencast.com/t/1SQIpJZpAtE – http://screencast.com/t/A1ZqpJ5PjJb
If the problem persit try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test again. As cache plugin we recommend WP Super Cache which is tested and works fine with the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
Hi
Please make sure that you updated the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
Hi, do you have an update on this? We had to disable W3 Cache altough not sure as it was working fine before the upgrade. Do you know if some particular setting could be conflicting and causing this error message with the theme?
Thanks
Hello,
Please disable all plugin except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. It could be a plugin conflict.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.
Try disabling all plugins except for Visual Composer, and clear your cache. If that doesn’t work, send over your website address so the theme creator can see the issue.
Hi,
I have update on Monday to 3.1 and I started to realise yesterday that intermittently I am getting the following error message ->
Warning: mysqli_num_fields() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, boolean given in /home/nuolaida/public_html/bettingtips4you.com/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 3021
Warning: mysqli_num_fields() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, boolean given in /home/nuolaida/public_html/bettingtips4you.com/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 3021
It tends to happen mostly on mobile when clearing cache although I have also seen in some instances on desktop.
Is this is a known issue with the theme? I am using W3 Cache and so far no problem with the theme in the last year. Can it be with the update it is now conflicting?
What do you suggest to do?
Thanks
Hmmm. I thought, because you have Managed it, that the Instagram pictures are taken from the Cache, you could also make them smaller… That Would be Great.
Hello helioteixeira,
This type of errors appears because the Visual Composer it is not updated. Please try to update it to the latest version of it, clear all your caches and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanidng!
Hello Rhonda,
Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
