Did you
a) clear your caching/reset CDN after theme change, if applicable?
b) did you increase your default memory via php.ini and wp-config.php ?
c) try turning off conflicting plugins except for visual composer and yoast seo?

What “demo” of the theme are you using ? Did you buy the theme or are you using a pirate copy from website? I suppose you are using one of the “style demo” to test site layout and not a real live website.

Your site seems to be working just fine:

Theme works well on mobile — we use it every day on our mobile devices.

a) try disabling lazy load option
b) disable any “mobile” plugins or jetpack mobile setting (up to YOU to manage conflicts with other mobile tech conflicting with theme built-in mobile CSS)
c) try turning off plugins except for Visual Composer.
d) clear cache/ reset CDN.

One of those the usual culprit!

Hello ebrahimsblog,

The icon issue is a whole different matter. This issue is tied to fonts. If they are not loaded from the same source, this can happen.(It’s basically because of the CDN) In this case, you will need to add a rule in .htaccess like this topic suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/

I hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

Hello Dominik,
Actually I checked only on chrome not IE. I have now tested this on all 3 browsers and it seems my results are a bit different. Chrome ok, IE ok but firefox does not display the title. On another pc I tested this, the ad title was visible on all 3 so probably this is a cache related issue. Please clear your cache and also purge cdn and let us know if the problem is still there afterwards.
Thank you!

Hello,

You can use this custom css:
.td-social-linkedin{
background-image: url("https://static.licdn.com/scds/common/u/img/icon/apple-touch-icon.png");
background-size: 100%;
}

What id does is grab an image from an url and sets it as a background image for the button. Right now it’s grabbing one I found on google, but you could change it to an image from your server (which is recommended) simply grab or create an image in ms paint or photoshop (just the letters ‘in’ on a blue background will not be a hard image to create) and upload it to your server and change the path in the css.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

I have a problem with video format posts. The featured image that should automatically be taken from a video doesn’t show up as thumbnail elsewhere on the site.

I insert the video link as seen here: http://imgur.com/orwkEou

The video is correctly embedded in the post itself but the thumbnail/featured image does not appear in blocks and modules: http://imgur.com/a/vRcpc

What I have already tried:

– disabled all plugins except visual composer
– accessed site with different browsers
– accessed site from different devices
– flush cache
– created a dummy site from scratch and the problem was still there

(note: I am not using CDN)

Hello Sibienii,

<IfModule mod_headers.c>
Header add Access-Control-Allow-Origin “*”

# BEGIN WordPress

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

Multumesc pentru mesaj si va doresc o si frumoasa in continuare!

Hi

Try to update the theme at the latest version available on themeforest, V 2.3.5: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using and test again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.

Thanks!

We are not asking to support any third party plugin, jetpack is developed and maintained by WordPress.com. As you are providing theme for wordpress, anyone can expect that your theme must support all default plugin developed by wordpress.

Our site is completely image driven. Photon used to provide free Image CDN service by wordpress. Please refer given URLs

http://www.wpexplorer.com/free-cdn-services-for-wordpress/
http://www.bloggertipstricks.com/free-wordpress-cdn-services.html

I hope you can understand my concern.

Bogdan B.

Hello,
Please understand that certain features simply do not work with our theme. We cannot create a universally compatible theme that can support every plugin out there. It is simply impossible. This is the case with every premium theme. As for the CDN part, I cannot understand the link between the 2. The photon feature is an option from jetpack and is an image acceleration and editing service. Not a CDN server.
Unfortunately we cannot offer any support for plugin implementation. For image optimization we recommend using another plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/
Have a nice day ahead!

sigzen
tagDiv Member

If you do not recommend to use photon, will you provide free CDN service?

Today you are recommending not to use Photon, tomorrow you may suggest not to use feature image in post. I do not believe any of your excuses which do not have any firm reason not to use photon.

Please suggest some tweak so I can fix this issue along with enabling photon.

Hi,
If you do not use a CDN server, then please deactivate all plugins except visual composer and clear your cache. This should rule out a plugin conflict.
Thank you!

Hi Bogdan, I have deactivated photon feature from jetpack and fonts –social icon, search icon and the link to go tohe beggining when you scroll– are not working. It only happens sometimes but i guess it has nothing to do with jetpack cdn… I’ll be watching to see how can I get a solution. Wouldnt be better if social icons, search icon and the other were images from a sprite? Just guessing… thanks in advance.

luquerias
tagDiv Member

Thanks again… but i suppose this solution is a little bit impossible as i have no access to CDN wordpress.com servers… I’m still waiting for an answer from them. I sent a mesage yesterday… I will be updating this topic when i find a solution that not implies an alien server solution. thanks anyway!

Bogdan B.

Hi,
The solution I provided above suggests you edit the .htaccess from the cdn server.
Thank you!

luquerias

thanks bogdan but, as I understand, do I have modify .htaccess on jetpack/wordpress domain? Somebody can explain it to me carefully? I know nothing about manage a cdn source…

Hi

Because you’re using a very old version of the theme the update process could be a bit tricky.
First make sure you do a full backup to the database and your current wp install: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups in case something goes wrong you can allays get back to the previous version. Also consider the steps I’ve provide below:

– setup a maintenance mode and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/
– switch back the rest of the plugins and make sure that they work fine with the theme, you can check this by enabling the plugins one by one then test the site.

Regarding your customizations these will be lost during the update process so you have to re-add them again in theme files or in child theme. Also make sure that the customizations are still compatible with the new theme because many files are changed and also many functions so there is a chance to appear some conflicts.
You also will need to redo your pages because in a previous version the shortcodes for blocks has been changed so they won’t work anymore. Just edit the page with Visual Composer, delete the existent blocks then re-add them again. Such that the new shortcodes will be generated and the page should be displayed fine.
Let us know how it goes and if you need further instructions please provide more details.

Thanks!

If you’re loading the icon font off a CDN, you may need to add a CORS rule for the icon font; or set that in the CDN prefs to not load the icon font and let it load off the domain.

simchris
tagDiv Member

Yes, well if you LOOK at the report
a) you need to optimize some of your images
b) you need to set expiration headers for some of the file types
c) you need to make sure gzip/deflate working for some file types

Did you clear cache from old site before switching to new theme?
Did you regenerate thumbs for new theme?
Did you reset anything loading from CDN?

Best to test with post page vs home page for speed testing.

You need to actually *do* all the fixes outlined on both GTMetrix and Google PageSpeed insights for the problems, like compression, expiration headers, etc.

Hi Andrei,

Eventually the problem was with the CDN service and it is easy solvable. So for the future reference, if someone else has the same issue, following are the lines that should be added to the .htaccess file:

# ———————————————————————-
# CORS-enabled images (@crossorigin)
# ———————————————————————-
# Send CORS headers if browsers request them; enabled by default for images.
# developer.mozilla.org/en/CORS_Enabled_Image
# blog.chromium.org/2011/07/using-cross-domain-images-in-webgl-and.html
# hacks.mozilla.org/2011/11/using-cors-to-load-webgl-textures-from-cross-domain-images/
# wiki.mozilla.org/Security/Reviews/crossoriginAttribute
<IfModule mod_setenvif.c>
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
# mod_headers, y u no match by Content-Type?!
<FilesMatch “\.(gif|png|jpe?g|svg|svgz|ico|webp)$”>
SetEnvIf Origin “:” IS_CORS
Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin “*” env=IS_CORS
</FilesMatch>
</IfModule>
</IfModule>
# ———————————————————————-
# Webfont access
# ———————————————————————-
# Allow access from all domains for webfonts.
# Alternatively you could only whitelist your
# subdomains like “subdomain.example.com”.
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
<FilesMatch “\.(ttf|ttc|otf|eot|woff|woff2|font.css|css|js)$”>
Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin “*”
</FilesMatch>
</IfModule>

and here is the link to the complete article https://www.maxcdn.com/one/tutorial/how-to-use-cdn-with-webfonts/

Have a good one,
Vladimir

Hello danoah,

I’ve checked your website on iPhone and I saw the problem. You have a lot of errors in your console as you can see here: http://screencast.com/t/hda7gEFPrf. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, empty all your caches, purge the CDN file if used and install only the plugin that come bundled with our theme. Your errors could be caused by your untested plugins that you are using in your theme. Please rule out the conflicting plugins and try to test again. After this advice, if your problem is still there, please let us know.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the message!
