Hi,
The tagDiv composer is fully tested and compatible with the theme. It is created specifically for the theme and it should work properly in all cases. But other factors may interfere with the functionality.
Basically these are the theme requiremenets
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Along with these server and WordPress parameter configuration
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
A recommendation would be to reinstall the theme by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Use only theme plugins, deactivate and delete them and reinstall them from the theme package. Do not make any modifications to the theme files, check any custom code you might be using. If you use a child theme switch to the main theme.
Then check if everything works properly, let us know the results.
Thanks
Hi,
1. You can use a redirect plugin for simple redirects, through code this may not be easy to do. Redirect that link to the the one you want
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-to-creating-redirects-in-wordpress/
The Load more pagination is available only for blocks. The article lists loop like the one on the author page use numeric pagination only. This cannot be changed.
2/4 You can use any text editor to edit the file. This modification can be made directly to the theme file, or through a child theme if you use one. You will have to probably access the theme folder an files by FTP, in order to modify the file
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-use-ftp-to-upload-files-to-wordpress-for-beginners/

Hi,
Something is not functioning properly regarding the pagination. All pagination links seems to return this page
– https://www.screencast.com/t/qFJRfOl2x3Qn
A first step would be to deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, and clear any caching installed if you have any. Then check if the issue is still present. If you use a child theme switch to the main theme, to test if this has any effect. Remove custom code or modifications made top the theme or WordPress files.
As a last step, you could try a theme reinstall by FTP, and use only theme plugins
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Please let us know the results.
Thanks
Hi,
Code entered directly entered in the theme files, will be lost when the theme is updated. You could use a child theme for example. This a child theme tutorial, mentioning the files that can be customized through it
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Files from the footer folder can be customized in a child theme.
Custom code in the theme panel will not be lost, as mentioned by Edward.
Thanks
Hello,
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
Hi,
In order to have access to the reviews, a contributor needs access to the entire post settings and theme panel as well so if this is something you need, try to use a role manager and give the permissions you need to the contributors from the plugin settings. It is easier than editing the theme core files and having to re-make the modification after each update because it will not work through a child theme.
Thank you!
Hello regev,
Unfortunately, the child theme does not support the mobile theme files, sorry! Please check the following useful manual here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hey,
Understand that.
Still I have the child theme activated but on mobile the css style that is loaded is
/themes/Newspaper/mobile/style.css?ver=8.1
what needs to be done so the mobile will load the child theme mobile css file?
Hello SnakeEater,
First of all, you should make a full backup to your file to avoid any loss of information and then, you simply update your WordPress via FTP way. So, please notice that the child theme comes bundled with the Theme Packet and not depend on the WordPress version, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hey,
I purchase and installed the theme demo.
My site is RTL.
I have 2 issues:
1. on the desktop there’s an empty blank space on the left that causing the ability to scroll left and that is caused because td-mobile-nav is loaded on the desktop. how can i fix that?
2. on mobile the /mobile/style.css is loaded. how can i load rtl.css file on the mobile (i uses the child theme).
thanks
Hi,
my website is running Newspaper 8.0 and we have made some modifications to the child theme.
Now WP is giving us notification that the upgrade to 8.1 is available, but wants to update the child theme rather than the main one.
What is the standard procedure in this case to avoid any conflict after the update?
Thanks
Hello…
I was about to push my website live, and made a mistake and unchecked the Activities in Buddypress and it brought my site down. I got the dreaded error 500 and could no longer access my site.
I then contacted Bluehost my domain provider and the tech was able to get me back in, but he told me that he had to de-activate all my plugins.
I was able to get in and view my site but when I click on the page where the content is it redirected me to “Coming Soon” page.
I then called Bluehost back and explained what was going on and they could not figure it out so they recommended that I do a restore from August.
The restore went fine but the paragraphs from the daily feeds are properly formatted.
This is an example below of one my feed page content that do not have spacing between the paragraph and prior to my website crashing the formatting worked great. I even modified the Newspaper child styles theme with this code, and it still will not fix the page spacing
page p {
line-height: 1.5em;
padding-bottom: 15px;
}
This is one of my current pages exact formatting with no line breaks spacing between the paragraphs. Does any one have any ideas how I can fix this issue? By the way if I manually go into each post and insert a short code spacer that seems to work temporarily but only for that post, but since I get my website info from daily feeds the post would get deleted any way.

“The Price is Right” busted an Oprah on 3 contestants — YOU GET $10K! YOU GET $10K!! … YOU GET $10K!!! — all on the way to making history during Friday’s insane episode.
In honor of Drew Carey’s 10th anniversary of hosting ‘TPiR,’ any contestant who spun $1 on the wheel this week would get a $10k bonus instead of the usual $1k. What happened next was absolutely bananas.
Three contestants — Wilbert, Charlotte and Zacharia — all nailed the $10k, but that was just the start. The tiebreaker spins led to even more money and yet ANOTHER tie.
Charlotte eventually won the whole thing, but everyone got the dough they spun. In total, ‘PiR’ doled out $80k … the most ever given away on the wheel. Happy anniversary, Drew … you broke the bank.

Hello KosherCoder,
Please keep in mind that what you want to do is a BIG update and the theme will be broken because it is totally another theme, sorry!
In order to achieve the best results after you will install the latest update you have to follow some rigorous steps like this -> you have to delete both of your themes, child theme, and main theme. All your customizations from your Newspaper 4 theme will do not work because all the files from this were changed in Newspaper 8.1 and as the main theme and also you lose all changes.
The Newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme so an update from 4 to 8.1 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).
Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come bundled with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.
The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom CSS will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them. Bottom line is that newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme built from scratch.
Unfortunately, you will have to clear your agenda and spare a bit of time to adjust all your settings to the new version of the theme.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hi,
A child theme is provided in the theme package, please use that one
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Not all files from the theme can be used in the child theme, in the guide the supported files are mentioned.
Install the child theme provided, this should not have any influence on importing a demo or building pages, unless maybe the code used in the child theme is interfering with this process.
Thanks
I created a folder to use it as child theme with 2 file of function.php and style.css with the code below.
function.php
<?php
add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘enqueue_parent_styles’ );
function enqueue_parent_styles() {
wp_enqueue_style( ‘parent-style’, get_template_directory_uri().’/style.css’ );
}
?>
style.css

But when I activated the child theme and download the demo all blocks are broken and the sidebar is not in its place, It is not possible to put two blocks beside each other and …
The URL is this: http://hafteh.ca/2017/mtl/
Please help me to find out how can I have a child theme.
Hi,
The errors are multiplying when the page is scrolled, by the hundreds
– https://www.screencast.com/t/tkIOP4nnban
That is not normal behavior of the theme, this does not happen on a default theme as provided. If you are absolutely sure that a plugin is not the cause, maybe it is theme customization , custom code in the theme panel, a child theme. It is just a matter of identifying what exactly is responsible.
Thanks
I don’t think that a generic article is going to help me fix this error.
Please read the related tickets that I linked to in my original request (above):

This happens when you update theme or main WordPress …
nothing to fix; normally you will have one of these, unless hacker slamming that directory. So, with one you just mark as ‘fixed’ and move on.
That should so be in the WP documentation — which they are finally going to redo (won’t be called ‘codex’ any more for 2018!). ?”

I think we did something on one site for that,
we made an index.php file that had a refresh header …
although I think we then instead did an htaccess file for the them folder,
and did 301 redirect for index.php to home page of site. Something like that.
Downside is you need to replace those each time theme is updated.
Or, just grimace when you do theme update and month later see that single entry in your search console. I usually just go “(sigh) … stupid Google…”
I mean, how stupid do you have to be in the data mining business to not auto-ignore /wp-content/themes/ for indexing ANYTHING? Duh.”
I have found a possible solution on other support forums:
Hi!
Yes, having read the Yoast article https://yoast.com/dont-block-your-css-and-js-files/ i’d suggest not blocking all theme resources, however i think index.php should not be read directly by crawlers (or visitors) because it will always result on a PHP error, you could try one of these two workarounds:
Redirect theme index.php to root (this will apply to all visitors), .htaccess code (you could extend this to child theme directories or plugins):
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /wp-content/themes/enfold/index\.php\ HTTP/
RewriteRule ^wp-content/themes/enfold/index\.php$ http://DOMAIN.com/ [R=301,L]
Or simply disallow only index.php in the theme folder, robots.txt code:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-content/themes/enfold/index.php
Please advise.

Hi,
I found some useful suggestions in some topics, you could use a child theme for the modified website
– https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/multisite-one-theme-different-css
– https://stackoverflow.com/questions/39963479/same-theme-in-wordpress-multisites-but-with-custom-css
– https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/81886/wordpress-multisite-multiple-child-theme
– https://wpsites.net/wordpress-themes/second-style-sheet-theme/
You can search for more information, there might be other ways of doing this, that you can try.
Thanks
Ok, so theres no additional plugins installed, and I’m not using a child theme. I have both TAGdiv and VC activate and when I posted an article the body content is under the sidebar…again.
Now I was told once that I can’t use the two composers together, then I was told by another person that it should be fine. Can you please help?

Hello
I installed the NewsPaper theme using a Child Theme and then imported a demo. Now I try to modify the home page using TagDiv Composer and it does not work.
When I try to add any element with the visual editor it does not.
I have tried to disable all plugins, to create a new page and it always happens the same.
What I can do?
Thank you.
Hi,
Please update the theme using this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The FTP method is the most recommended way of updating. Note that custom code you might have used in the previous version, might not work properly in this one. Some elements have been subject to change. Update the theme and remove any custom code from theme panel temporarily, do not modify the theme files after the update.
If you use a child theme, switch to the main theme. Code in this might need adjustments for the new version. Use the child theme provided in the new theme package.
Also in version 8 the tagDiv composer was introduced, this plugin is activated automatically when the theme is updated or installed
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin as this might affect some Visual composer elements on pages.
Thanks
Hi,
Both parent theme and child theme have to be displayed in the theme selection screen. I have tested and this is the result
– https://www.screencast.com/t/PCiSzJaEhd
That meta information you mention does not interfere with the child theme (the template name is impportant), this is fully functional and can be used accordingly. We will update that information in the future update. This is a guide about using the child theme provided in the theme package
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Please try and cretae the child theme again, do not modify anything within the child theme, then having the parent theme active, activate the child theme and see if it is working as it should.
Thanks
Hi,
We use Newspaper v8.1 with the child theme that you provide with it.
We noticed two things :
– in the Appearence > theme menu, only the child-theme (that is active) is listed in the theme’s list, we don’t see the parent one. On others sites whith other themes with child-theme, both are displayed on the theme list.
– The child-theme you provided has this comments on the style.css file :
/*
Theme Name: Newspaper 7 Child theme
Theme URI: http://themeforest.net/user/tagDiv/portfolio
Description: Child theme made by tagDiv
Author: tagDiv
Author URI: http://themeforest.net/user/tagDiv/portfolio
Template: Newspaper
Version: 7.7c
*/
=> Is that normal that versions are different (v8.1 for the parent and 7.7c for the child) ?
=> does it explains that we have only the child-theme listed in the WordPress theme menu ?
=> do we have to change something on our child theme code (the comments with the theme name and version ?)
regards
Icodia team
Hello DaveS,
Those are a lot of warnings. Something is not functioning properly, or there are plugins conflicting between them. What you can try, is to deactivate all your plugins except the ones provided with the theme, and clear any installed cache. Also, check any custom code you might have entered in the theme panel, or directly to the theme files. If you use a child theme, switch to the main theme.
Then check if the problem is solved. If it is, activate the plugins one at a time, and possibly identify the cause of the issue.
Also check the theme system status and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide , if necessary
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You can ask you hosting provider to make them for you if needed, as they might have a recommended method in this regard. These modifications are requires for the good functionality of the theme and plugins. Having many plugins can exhaust the allocated memory.
Thanks
Hello,
Sorry about that. It seems we missed the child theme logo. We will fix it in the next theme update. It will not influence the proper functionality of the child theme though.
Thank you for your understanding.
