You need to edit your pagespeed.conf file to be optimized for your site, caching module, CDN loading, etc.
Are you running mod_pagespeed on your server /VPN, or are you doing that via Cloudflare ?
We have our own dedicated high end server here, so we manage our own stuff and don’t need CDN, so my suggested settings only address the ideal setting AFTER you setup the pagespeed.conf file properly with the Apache module (see the Google docs on how that works).
For instance, if you are running the module on your own server/VPN, and loading stuff off CDN, you have to actually tell mod_pagespeed where those CDN resources *are* — for our test we setup a subdomain as cdn.oursite.ooo which was a CNAME for the CDN bucket.
But again, not theme specific, so likely best to talk to Cloudflare and explain your use of mod_pagespeed and how best to connect. π
I am using CloudFlare and default .htaccess which is provided by tagdiv team in this tutorial https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
You can find my example mod page speed settings I believe in my long winded tutorial, or someplace in the forum history as we fully enabled this — using WP and Newspaper — back in Jan. 2014.
Note the mod_pagespeed settings should be optimized for WordPress; they are not “theme” specific. There are numerous tutorials online re setting up mod_pagespeed to work with WordPress you may want to look at, going back to late 2013, and mostly in 2014. There is some trial and error.
Upshot, it’s not theme related, but WordPress related.
For example, you should NOT use lazy load, not use minification other than comment removal and spaces removal, and ideally not use things that move scripts to bottom or top of page as theme already does that, as does WP.
Point being there is not one ideal “snapshot” of a config file for every server, and setup.
For example, you may want to put the path to a static folder location. Read docs on how to do that.
You may want to hook mod_pagespeed to connect to caching module on server, but you would need to actually work with your hosting provider to set that up properly.
Using mod_pagespeed with external resources is also tricky, such as CDN, where you need to put in lines to specify how that connects — if using cloudflare they should be able to help you with that.
Again, mod_pagespeed is *not* theme specific, but WordPress and Cloudflare setup should be addressed to the Cloudflare folk.
Hello sir, I just want to know what is the .htaccess file you are using on Newspaper Demo.
especially with CloudFlare and page speed mod
Hello T2N,
Unfortunately, we do not have any solution for minifying the files and also, we do not recommend using these. We use only Cloudflare and for more information about this, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Thank you for the message!
Hello ch.rammohan,
Unfortunately, only these configurations of our theme are tested with Cloudflare CDN, as you can see in our tutorial like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/ For more references in this regard, please consult this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/ssl/
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the message!
I am using cloudflare CDN with ssl. I am not able to use the Newspaper theme panel in https enabled. If I try to save the theme panel settings it keeps on loading but wont save. Every time I needed to disable the https mode to enable the themepanel to make changes.

Hi
Infinite loading works perfectly on desktop browser. But on mobile devices, it doesn’t load. When I checked using dev-tools, I can see that on desktop admin-ajax.php response has a json response with the next set of articles, while on mobile the response is 0.
Can’t figure out why this is happening. I’m on nginx, varnish, php5-fpm, w3tc, cloudflare, tagdiv speedbooster. Kindly help me.
How is it going?
I have been trying to fix the site speed for a while now and I can not get it over 42 / 100 mobile or 61 / 100 desktop.
I have followed the instruction (pagespeed guide) numerous times – However, the problem I am running into is the FILE NAME is from the PageSpeed Insights page are no where to be found on the txt. file that from section
“5. Remove render blocking css/js β using the TagDiv SpeedBooster plugin”
I have delete plugins – and nothing works – the only reason I got that speed UP to 61 n 42 is because I used CloudFlare..
Can someone please help. Site is http://philadelphialocalbuzz.com/
OK, this is the code i get from the generator:
[vc_btn title="SEND MY MY BOOK" style="custom" custom_background="#2b78ae" custom_text="#ffffff" size="lg" align="center" i_align="right" i_icon_fontawesome="fa fa-cloud-download" link="url:http%3A%2F%2Fprojectbebest.com%2F||target:%20_blank" button_block="true" add_icon="true"]
I would like to make this button:
β’ 200px in height
β’ have the elements with vertical alignment middle
Thanks
Hi
Compliments for the extensive theme and its options. I am impressed with all the functions and possibilities, but encounter a problem that I can’t seem to fix without help. I have searched the forum and tried several solutions found on the forum and by searching Google, but with no luck. We have draft articles and deleted articles showing up in the search results and I have no idea on how to fix this. Any suggestions?
Our site is running on nginx and using Varnish and Cloudflare for caching purposes. With or without Cloudflare active makes no difference. The search page with results is not cached but somehow the search engine is able to show results of pages that either have been deleted of are not yet published (drafts) or meant to be (deleted).
Regards
Wilbert
Hello snaxzer,
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:

Hello,
It depends on what you use from cludflare. We use cludflare ourselves but not all options. You can follow our cloudflare guide here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Thank you, sir,
I have one more question, Is it good to use free CloudFlare? will it affect my website rank or SEO ?
Have you try setup cloudflare free plan for your site?
What fonts are used to display social icons, arrows, search icon and random other icons around the theme?
I ask because ever since switching to a CDN those font icons are not displaying correctly.
That is the ONLY issue i’m having on my site. Everything else is flawless.
So perhaps if I know the font, I can load it manually or from another cloud provider.
Hello,
I had run a test on http://gtmetrix.com/ for my site: http://voiceoftrust.in using the Newspaper theme version 6.6.5, and the report shows very low percentage Check: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/voiceoftrust.in/zTS8Y33v (I am using Digital Ocean Cloud Server for this this site) but when I test the demo site it should very high percentage Check: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/demo.tagdiv.com/kLi9K6bo ..? Why is that

I see you are using a CDN Service (which CDN?)as well also your JS,CSS,HTML are minified but mine is not even though I am using Cloudflair CDN.
Please help, I am really struggling to rank my site. Can you please help me optimize the site so that I can lower down the loading time as well.
Hello pedroreis,
I have checked your website and I saw that your Google Ads seem to work as expected -> http://screencast.com/t/kbEhi8PSic This kind of problem might be caused by the Cloudflare rocket loader and we recommend to be disabled…please consult our tutorial and make sure that you have respected these settings for the best result -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/ and also, please ensure that you have respected the Google Adsense policy.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the message!
Hi,
I am trying to change some code in adsense ads, i change the code in for example in “Article Inline AD” but the changes not affect the online site.
I am trying to change this:
<script async src=”//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
for this one:
<script async data-cfasync=”false” src=”//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
The reason is to make the adsense code compatible with cloudflare rocket loader.
But the new code never appear inside the site, always stays the old one.
Any solution?
Thank you.
Hi,
The theme doesn’t come with a cache, if you use a cache plugin or cdn (ex. cloudflare) make sure you clear it and check again. If this doesn’t help please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com , include a link to this conversation and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can take a look.
Thank you!
Ok Here we’re .. i tried a website with no cloudflare and no caching and nothing happens Lol
Same CTR same CPC .. thanks all π
I didn’t make anything from yesterday π
only pause and resume the cloudflare.
this website based on social media visitors only no SEO no Google rankings. I don’t care about it.
I’m trying a different website now with the same ads placement and everything but no cloudflare.
I hope my CTR returns back π
Thank you Ing Geek, that totally makes sense. Analytic and Adsense seem to be very picky about js, no wonder, it’s how they control what they pay. I stopped using the speed options in cloudflare after a day or so of experimenting with them and afterwards, I only minify html in cache plugin. Those would brake up some functionality but I always assumed it was because I’m a lazy coder and my site is all patched up. I guess a simple static website with very good code can benefit from cloudflare features, specially rocket loader.
@mahmoudfathymohamed
Today I’m seeing no mixed content so I guess you fixed it π visited several articles and no content blocked and padlock was always green, I saw no problems like yesterday.
Moving to https is usually a good thing. It can lower your traffic acquisition from search engines if not done carefully though. Since http and https use different server ports (most), both versions of a website, if they exist, are considered individual websites. Since the content is the same, search engines will label one as a duplicate. Search engines don’t like duplicate shit. When there’s http and https versions of the same site, webmasters should take measures to inform search engine which version to crawl and index and which to ignore (robots.txt, rel canonical, htaccess)
You only have https version so you don’t have to deal with that. What you might consider is the “juice”. Before you went https, did you had any particular page/article that ranked well in search engines? Or did any “respectable” website linked to yours? If yes, then you are losing that SEO juice because those rankings and those links point to something that doesn’t exist anymore. If no, which probably is the case because you’re online since only 10/2015, then don’t bother.
Cheers!
Yes I minify JS and CSS .. today i will try with a website with no cloudflare and i will see the results.
thanks so much π i will tell you the results tomorrow π
Sorry for my horrible English.
