Dear tagDiv/Newspaper 4 staff
(and all those going through the same unexpected problems)
So why is it that if I bought Newspaper 4 yesterday… I am still stumbling upon the same problem??
We have tried everything and regardless of reading this last thread and others the problem has not yet been resolved.
The problem is once we have followed instructions and uploaded the Newspaper 4 on to wordpress, it seems that the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin does not load. When attempted the following comes up:
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: themeforest-5489609-newspaper-wordpress_theme.zip
Unpacking the packageâŠ
Installing the pluginâŠ
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin install failed.
To find a solution we turned to the forum. We that discovered others were having the same problem. We hoped that because of this we would quickly find a solution. We attempted all the suggestions posted in this thread and nothing. The same results.
When your sales pitch is promising a 15 minute install, and it takes us a stressful 24 hours and still no joy I feel like that unless you can assist we are left with 2 options- (1) refunding the $58 due to the promised product not being delivered. We have paid but we have received a dud (2) someone from the Newspaper 4 team installs and sets up the theme at no cost.
We look forward to you either providing a solution to this unresolved problem, refunding our money or installing the theme for us.
A swift response expected and appreciated.

Hello there …
I was trying to adjust our Homepage a bit. I compared our layout with the one of your Demo.
And I saw that in mine are bigger spaces between the “layout-elements”. I would like them to have closer to each other.
For example on the homepage:
The gap (or space) between the menu an slider (and sidebar) is bigger, than on your demo. But I did not set a spacer with the visual composer there … There is just a sace and I do not undestand why …
Best regards
Torsten
Hi,
Not sure as I’ve also tested this and haven’t managed to recreate this issue on my device locally. Please try to empty all cache/ purge files if you use any CDN host services, lave just the Visual Composer plugin active then try again.
Also try to re-save your permalinks and to switch the number of posts displayed on category pages from here: http://screencast.com/t/rtQN8yGnQ and check if posts are still left out. You can check the numbers of posts that should appear on a specific category then check if all of them are displayed.
Please let me know!
Thanks
Hi,
This issue appears because of the Visual Composer plugin when updating to WordPress 4.1. We have included the fixed version of the plugin within the latest theme version so please make sure you download and install the latest theme version and also update the Visual Composer plugin from the /plugins folder using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Thanks
Hi,
Thanks! I have inspected this issue and seems that some how the image is also pulled in the description and I can’t tell why as I have also tested this and haven’t had this issue.
My test:
Configuration: http://screencast.com/t/wakun3r1FwG
Result: http://screencast.com/t/fzCKtMLVfHex
First of all please makes sure that you use this feature right and follow this guide for that: https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-list/
If you still have issue with it after that please make sure that this is not happening because other plugins you use and disable all of them leaving just the Visual Composer active, empty cache/ purge files if you use CDN and check again.
Please let me know if you manage to solve this or not.
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Is there a way to use the TagDiv Slider Gallery in Visual Composer through one of the VC Elements or Blocks?
I tried to follow the Newsmag documentation for pages and create a TagDiv Slider Gallery through a VC Text Element by using Add Media > Gallery. But the drop down menu didn’t have the TagDiv Slider Gallery option.
I want to be able to add a TagDiv Slider Gallery into a page through VC in any location I want.
Thank you. – Any help would be awesome.
Hello,
I can’t drag’in drop elements in the visual composer. ?
What could be the bug ?
Hi,
Ever since I upgraded to the latest theme version my homepage is not showing the latest posts, it shows them however when I am logged. I had also reinstalled the visual composer to the latest version.
Hi,
Sorry for the delay!
You can do it via page builder using the Visual Composer plugin and set your page to full width then chose a custom layout for your page then use the widgetised sidebar element to set an already created sidebar or just build your sidebar adding other VC elements/widgets/blocks: http://screencast.com/t/zwsOdVFTwoE
You can also set a sidebar to the whole page, from here: http://screencast.com/t/R7eysHLebf0
Please also go trough our documentation:
* https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage/
* https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars/
Please provide a link top your site so I can check this or if you use the “Homepage â bg + with article list”
or “Homepage â bg â no article list” page templates make sure you don’t use a slider as those template already add a big slider to the page so you wont need to add another, that’s why you get two slider on page.
You can remove the slider you have added in order to fix this or you can use another template and add it yourself.
Hope this helps!
Thanks

Ah, so you have tried the instructions provided by the Visual Composer folks – since shortcodes *do* work in visual composer if done properly, and also tried the various raw HTML, and coding boxes found in the site builder when setting up home page?
Perhaps problem with the shortcode conflicting with something.
Oh well, maybe official tech support might be able to help sort it for you.
Cheers!
Did you
1) clear all cache on server and CDN as applicable before doing update
2) did you change theme before update to default
3) did you turn off all plugins prior to update
4) did you fully delete old plugin folder
5) did you fully delete old js_cmposer folder (for VC plugin)
6) did you then install new version of theme, and plugin(s)
7) then turn on ONLY new visual composer, then new theme
8) check visual composer works
9) then turn on your other plugins?
If updated correctly, it works perfectly.
I have the same problem after updating to WordPress 4.1 and the newest version of the theme and visual composer. Any ideas?
Maybe create a sidebar, and put a text box in there with the shortcode?
Use the pure HTML/code option box in Visual Composer?
Or,
perhaps try using Google – great resource for learning WordPress?

You should have Visual Composer “activated” as far as on the plugins screen, meaning it’s is “turned on.”
You don’t need to enter an activation/authorization/registration code.
You should make sure you don’t have something “on the pages” linking into the root folder for /Newsmag/ which is not normal.
You can also try adding the explicit path to the theme folder in your wp-config.php (see the WP codex on how to do that).
Note I had the same error on 12/29; but not since then.
wp-content/themes/gaga/ 500 12/29/14
Hi,
The Facebook comments from that plugin could be disabled and added directly in code via a shortcode, and can be placed anywhere.
Disable it from here: http://screencast.com/t/66stO7tobuz and add this code where you want in the post template:
http://screencast.com/t/7VRRbPIk post templates are this depends of where you want to add them http://screencast.com/t/HLJfn6dcF6HE
About the infinite scroll, add a block with Visual Composer, set it to infinite load http://screencast.com/t/Ampm712bNNg then set how many post you want to display: http://screencast.com/t/WTwOIdwBJ
Thanks!
Hi,
You don’t need to activate the visual composer, is included with the theme. https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Hi there,
I could not edit the main menu as it disappeared from admin menu page, neither I could create new ones. I got the the following error flagged up in Firebug: ReferenceError: columns is not defined.
When trying to figure out what was going on I also noticed that visual composer was missing, then
I logged out and when logged back in after a little break it all got back to normal.
Any idea of what might have happened?
The only change I made was creating a custom post type, is there any known similar issue with a plugin called WCK – Custom Fields and Custom Post Types Creator?
Since we are struggling a little bit, can we make a copy of our website on the same server for testing purposes? If so should we deactivate the theme to avoid license issues?

Hey, i can add new things but when i try to move up or down it breaks and shows many lines, i try deferents browsers but its the same, its a large front site i dont know if i not allow to add many things, what can i do?
Hi Lucian,
I found out the solution for this problem.
You have to save it through the Visual Composer system and not the WordPress system.
Anyway I have another question. I would like to set set a different class name for one of my text widgets, so I can change it without affecting the other text widgets.
However, when I fill in the field: “Extra class name” it does not seem to allow me to make changes through CSS.
Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?
so i updated my theme to the latest version, I deactivated all the plugins, and still, the pagination won’t show or even appear on category pages. plus when i try deactivating my visual composer, my whole website becomes unreachable. Regardless, please help, i receive high levels of traffic, and my content is not available for my users to see beyond 10 posts per category page
If only shortcodes would work in visual composer đ ….
Hi
I am using WordPress Popular Posts on my Newsmag site and I am not finding a way how to put a widget on the homepage with the visual composer.
The plugin provides a php query function like this ( <?php wpp_get_mostpopular( ‘header=”Popular Posts”‘ ); ?> )
But I don’t know how to put in on my homepage with my visual composer.
Has anyone a way to do this?
Thanks in advanced
