Hi,

Theme’s sliders were built to work using ‘post’ post types and display’s their featured image, but they can also be set to use pages from here: http://screencast.com/t/NokrTWgxO5Wf however you should know that on pages you can’t set a featured image by default so they will look like this: http://screencast.com/t/Li4puIfN

the slider meta info can be hidden using custom css, like this: http://screencast.com/t/DldiThHZAh

Just add the css code below in theme’s panel > custom css section.

.td-theme-slider .slide-meta {
display: none;
}

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

The theme doesn’t have style added for Giphy graphics however I’ve tested this using an embed iframe for this gif: http://giphy.com/gifs/graphics-pD29ZaiThhXsA

You can try to use this custom css to make them appear well on mobile screens: http://screencast.com/t/o6eGth099xT

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.giphy-embed {
width: 100%;
}
}

Add it in theme panel > custom css section.

Provide your site’s URL with an example so we can inspect it if it doesn’t work for you.

Thanks

Hi,

Please try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Csshttp://screencast.com/t/Dm3yjNzl

.td-g-rec-id-footer_top ins {
background: transparent;
}

Thanks!

Hi,

td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_5 is a class not an ID so please use this custom css:

.td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_5 {
margin-bottom: 0 !important;
}

Please try this solution – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-can-i-add-thumb-sizes-to-dropdown-list-where-you-choose-image-size/

Thanks!

Hi,

Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and check if you still have this issue as it may be caused by a plugin. Also try this without any js/css minification.

Thanks!

Hi,

The IOS Slider has a specific css to enlarge the thumbnails to the specific size, so if your featured images are not large enough(like in your case) they will be stretched(this is something similar that Thumbnail Upscale plugin do) – http://screencast.com/t/tq9Glrg8 You should not have this issue if you use large images to fit there(large enough to be cropped, consider also image aspect ratio) – http://screencast.com/t/aKH40rDj6yw

Thanks!

Hi,

on http://www.sverigetips.se/ I use footer template #12. However, I am not sure how I can put my content there. Ideally, I would like to use one of your content blocks. For that purpose I have copied over the code from a page drafted with Visual Composer that contains a content block. However, I couldn’t make it work in the footer. Perhaps the CSS for the footer overrides the CSS for the block. Just now I use shortcodes for a solution with six columns but the result looks boring. I would rather use your content block 15 here in the footer.

Could I make content blocks work in the footer? Or do you have any other suggestions for using template #12 with content arranged in a grid?

Thanks.

Walther

Hi,

Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have an option to change the hover color for article title on blocks(it will take the block color), but you can try this custom css to set a general hover color on blocks – http://screencast.com/t/Gzg8ZAXMOkl This will be applied also on modules(archive pages, latest articles)

.td_module_wrap:hover .entry-title a {
color: #4DEC94 !important
}

Also for block pagination(next/prev, load more) try this custom csshttp://screencast.com/t/n5mw9UsPMhttp://screencast.com/t/kDV1OiWw

.td-next-prev-wrap a:hover, .td-load-more-wrap a:hover {
background-color: #222222!important;
border-color: #222222 !important;
}

Thanks!

Hi,

I have also checked this and it should work, try to copy this code from module mx7 for example – http://screencast.com/t/oPNVgUTEvG and replace this in module mx3(add also a value to limit the excerpt) – http://screencast.com/t/CMYwCaqPF
The result should be – http://screencast.com/t/lRbQfCdK8CM also you will have to inspect and customize it via css to look fine. We would have gladly made it for you but for the moment we cannot offer custom work, sorry!

Thanks!

Hi,

Please make sure that you test this also without any plugin active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue as it may be caused by a plugin.
Also you can use this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Csshttp://screencast.com/t/iDRlblCnDJx0

.post header h1 {
color: #cc3d00 !important;
}

Thanks!

I am having problems removing Google Fonts from the theme, I already modified the CSS and removed open sans and roboto. What else do I have to do? The website of concern is newscream.com.

@Alin, thanks. I think I got it done.

@gfm1978
, I managed to obtain the result I wanted (at least I think I have… further tests are required).
In any case, check td_category_template.php (in includes/wp_booster). You should find the function that adds inline css for the category tags.

Hello,

Great template!

Referring to the pagination elements of the blocks of content…

Rather than background color&border color = heading background color on hover, can I set a site wide standard so that it ignores the heading background color and goes a set color on hover?

Many thanks,

Bryan

Thanks that did work but leaves me with another problem – all custom ads have a 44px bottom margin and since I want to use it as a superheader it looks weird to have a big white line above the top navigation.

I tried:

#td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_5 {
margin-bottom:0px !important;
}

As custom css but that didn’t work, do you have a solution?

Hi The Learned Lizard,

I did not see your reply, so I post again. Please try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Csshttp://screencast.com/t/rUyErvjkoi0

.td_module_5 .entry-title {
min-height: 80px;
}

Hope this helps!

I am struggling with a persistent error with Newsmag theme and Visual Composer. I am using Visual Composer 4.6.2 and Newsmag 2.1.1 with a child theme. When adding almost any module to the row when attempting to save the settings of the module a JS error occurs.

I have tried disabling all non-required plugins for the theme. I have used Visual Composer (same version) on other themes without any problem it seems that there is a conflict between the theme and VC

Hi I am using heading style 3, which works fine on desktop, but the logo is far to high up on the screen when viewed on mobile. Is there some CSS to bring this down over the green menu?

Hi Alin!
Thanks for the quick reply.

Regarding the Post Title color – as mentioned – in the Custom Typography (from panel theme) – the color set for the Post Title is this: cc3d00 (which is red/orange) – and not black as it is.

I think some CSS is required again…

Please advise,

Thanks!

Hi,

I was optimizing my website:

https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Did a pagespeed test:

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.windowsmechanic.com%2F&tab=desktop

Got 3 blocking CSS resources:

http://fonts.googleapis.com/…s?family=Open+Sans%3A400%2C700&ver=4.2.4
http://www.windowsmechanic.com/…ser/assets/css/js_composer.css?ver=4.6.2
http://www.windowsmechanic.com/…ent/themes/Newspaper/style.css?ver=6.3.2
http://www.windowsmechanic.com/…ser/assets/css/js_composer.css?ver=4.6.2
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…00,400italic,700,500italic,400?ver=6.3.2

Also following JS:

http://ajax.googleapis.com/…s/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js?ver=1.11.1
http://www.windowsmechanic.com/…wspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js?ver=6.3.2

So I added the code in functions.php to get the list of registered css and js. Here is the result

registered scripts:

td-site-min | http://www.windowsmechanic.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js
jquery | http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js

registered styles:

google_font_roboto |
google-fonts-style | http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:400,700
js_composer_front | http://www.windowsmechanic.com/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/assets/css/js_composer.css
td-theme | http://www.windowsmechanic.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/style.css

So I decided to edit the plugin (td-speed-booster/td-speed-booster.php) and added following code:

$this->move_style_to_footer(‘google-fonts-style’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘js_composer_front’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘td-theme’);

The moment I add this, page speed says that they get 500 error code and website never loads. I added at following location.

if ($this->is_ie === false) {

// move style.css theme style
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘google-fonts-style’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘js_composer_front’);
$this->move_style_to_footer(‘td-theme’); // $this->move_style_to_footer_queue(‘td-theme’); //this is the main style of the theme. It’s only moved on Newspaper 6!
}

I suspect that I may be adding in wrong place.. I am yet to move the js to footer. Am stuck with css.

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong please. Any kind feedback is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

If you have custom css please remove it, also disable any css/js minifications and check it without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. Let me know how it goes!

Thanks!

Hi,

Please check this guide and set Leverage Browser Caching – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Also try to use only plugins that you need. The speed booster move the js and css at the bottom of the page to Eliminate render-blocking, but not for all plugins. It is tested only with some plugins – http://screencast.com/t/e84eU4HmJ and it will be disable if you use other plugins, please check System Status – http://screencast.com/t/r9yEtFSpSxuc

Thanks!
