Hi,

@FRMedia1981

I have tested the buttons short-codes using theme version 4.4. and didn’t find any issue with the buttons, i have also tested your button’s short-code and shown up well: http://screencast.com/t/nMEd85f4Z
Please make sure you add the code like this in your post: http://screencast.com/t/8aqcWd9atp
If this issue is still present please deactivate all plugins then empty cache and try again.

@webministeren

On the latest version of Visual Composer some classes were changed by it’s developer and we had to override them so that the plugin would still work with the theme. In the process the buttons css was lost. We have the issue on our list and weโ€™ll try to fix it in one of the next updates. Sorry for the inconvenience.
You can use this custom css to style the button, like this: http://screencast.com/t/7WSQoASk

.vc_btn-green.vc_btn_3d {
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 5px 0 #53812d;
box-shadow: 0 5px 0 #53812d;
margin-bottom: 5px;
}

.vc_btn-green {
background-color: #6dab3c;
color: #ffffff !important;
-webkit-transition: all 0.5s;
-o-transition: all 0.5s;
transition: all 0.5s;
}

.vc_btn {
border: 1px solid transparent;
cursor: pointer;
display: inline-block;
text-decoration: none !important;
}

.vc_btn-lg {
padding: 10px 16px;
font-size: 18px;
line-height: 1.33;
border-radius: 6px;
}

Thanks

Hi Lucian,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Yep I want to do it through CSS so it effects the

element. I’m having trouble though. Surely…

blockquote { text-align: left; }

…should work (when inserted in the child theme’s stye.css), but it doesn’t. Any thoughts?

Cheers.

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no option to customize the tag color.
You can do it via css, please sue this custom css and change the tag background color as you like: http://screencast.com/t/fHnJq7DI

.td-tags a {
background-color: red !important;
}

Thanks

Hi,

The page title option from theme panel >custom typography apply’s to the page title of default templates. You can change the page title font size/color/family… on category pages and search results page also by using this custom css in theme panel >custom css field:

* http://screencast.com/t/F1omnoOheHBH
* http://screencast.com/t/4GcYhu4EjcvC

.category .td-page-title span, .search-results .td-page-title span {
font-family: Lobster;
font-size: 50px;
color: red;
}

You can updated the theme to the latest version and let us know what issues you encounter and we will try to provide a fix fro them.

Thanks

Hi,

The update shouldn’t affect the custom css added in theme panel. Please make sure you still have this css in custom css field. I have tested this and worked fine using the 4.4 theme version.
Please let me know if you can’t fix this and also provide your site’s URL, I need to inspect this so I can provide a fix.

Thanks

Hi all,

Yesterday we managed to migrate our old theme to newspaper.
http://www.musiccorner.gr

Everything looks great but i have 3 small issues.

1. Between the header menu i put a single line which created with the following css code (i found this code from an answer here in forum)

.td-menu-placeholder .td-menu-header {
border-bottom: 2px solid black !important;
border-top: 2px solid black;
border-right: 0px solid black;
border-left: 0px solid black;

Checking the site through a mobile phone (NEXUS 5) i see a black line, in the upper level of the screen. I suppose that this is caused by the CSS????

2. Checking the site through a PC with screen resolution 1152×864, menu is breaking in two lines. I had to reduce the font size in order to fit into one line.
I thought that the responsiveness of the theme could avoid that to happen. Wrong?

3. Scrolling down the first page you wll find a bolock with 5 tabs (different categories).
Those tabs are changing every 5secs but i want to stop the responsiveness for this. Is this possible?

For developing reasons, also keep in mind that enabling Contact form 7 plugin i had the following issues:
Trying to enter o photo into a post through media gallery was not possible. It was tyrying to read the images with no result (blank page). Disabling the Contact form, everything was fine.
Revolution slider could not save a new slide (Ajax error was the message)

Thanks!

S.

Hi,

I have emulated and tested this on devices you have mentioned and found no issue, you just have to add this css, which fixes the breadcrumbs issue:

.post header h1 {
margin-top: 17px !important;
}

ex:

* http://screencast.com/t/SQu9m8gG
* http://screencast.com/t/uHtXSmIk

Thanks

Hi,

@Stephanieb
As Christopher also mentioned this was probably a caching issue. Glad that is fixed. Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have a feature like this. You can use this method and customize it for your needs. If you don’t have any php/html/css knowledge we recommend you to hire a developer to do it fro you as we cannot offer custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.

Thanks

Hey folks,

I just noticed when a friend viewed our site that it wasn’t reflecting some new changes. I cleared W3 cache, purged CDN, hard reset browser cache, etc. and still no luck. Then my friend noticed that I was logged in, and when I logged out, sure enough, my browser also showed the wrong styles. I looked at what was different and realized… all my theme colors and custom CSS from the theme panel were the changes that hadn’t been updated!

Why would the theme panel’s changes only be visible to an admin (or at least a logged-in) user? Any ideas?

I think would annoy people to have that appear right no top of the article, personally, vs sliding into the sidebar area.

You could likely edit the module to have it slide from left to right vs right to left; just edit the DHTML/CSS for that.

Thanks for the CSS ๐Ÿ™‚ I haven’t got enough time last week to submit the plugin to CodeCanyon. Hopefully, I will release it this week.

Thanks for the support though ๐Ÿ™‚

how to add your own buttons to your from “ARTICLE Sharing”? On version 4.1 I ruled the file: includes \ modules \ module_modifier \ td_module_blog.php and stile.css. Now, this method did not work.

I upload font in “font” folder and tried to use custom font.But,nothing change.

CUSTOM FONT FILE : http://….com/font/my-font.woff
CUSTOM FONT FAMILY: my-font

info1: font folder is located under domain folder.
info2: I can selest my-font in custom typography.
—————————————————————–
When I add this code to css,it worked.

@font-face {
font-family: ‘my-font’;
src: url(‘my-font.woff’);
}
h1{font-family: ‘my-font’;}

Can you give me solution to this.
Thanks,

Any word on this, mehedi?

P.S. Looking at your live site again, minor CSS tweak suggestion:

.auhtor-twitter a {
  display: block;
}

This may not be necessary but it just drives me crazy when there’s a small spot you can’t click between the icon and the text ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, basically it is serving up an image at smaller size and so caches the “scaled” size as part of the “rewrite” images module.

Sometimes it doesn’t work if the optimized image would be larger in size than the original, which is funny since I usually optimize stuff very much in the extreme.

But:

ModPagespeedEnableFilters resize_images

This attempts to resize any image that is larger than the size called for by the width= and height= attributes on the tag or an inline style= attribute. The original image is replaced only if the image file is smaller after resizing. Image resizing is lossy by nature, regardless of image file format.

Note: It also strips color profiles and metadata even if strip_image_color_profile and strip_image_meta_data are disabled.

Note: If both resize_images and resize_rendered_image_dimensions are enabled then resize_rendered_image_dimensions takes precedence.

Partnered with:

ModPagespeedEnableFilters insert_image_dimensions

This flag inserts width= and height= attributes into tags that lack them and sets them to the image’s width and height. Note that this can cause image stretching or shrinking if CSS rules specify only one image dimension (see Risks below).

So, one of those things to play with for super advanced users, like removing width=500 height=375 and simply using style=”width:90%;height:auto” can do some interesting things.

Eventually this stuff will be built in to everything, since rewrites on the fly solve numerous responsive design issues.

AND: we just now got mod_spdy and mod_pagespeed working together!!!! WOOHOOOOO!!! Doom will ensue! (kidding)

@Shashank

I don’t think Google wants us to have awful image quality on our sites. I think they just want images to be as small as they can be at their current quality and sized correctly for the display device.

For example, the theme is serving 700 pixel wide images on smartphones where the viewport is 320 css pixels, which Google doesn’t like.

The other thing they don’t like is having wasted bytes in an image. I am compressing all of my images at JPEG quality 90 in pixelmator. I then run them through JPEGOptim, jpegtran, and jpegrescan at a quality of 90 and the file size drops by about half. Then I upload them and Google tells me they can still be a few KB smaller… I don’t care about that so much as I care about serving the wrong dimension of thumbnails to visitors.

I wish the theme made different thumbnails for iPad landscape, iPad portrait, and mobile phone so that we wouldn’t be serving oversized images, which Google hates, take a look at the image below:

When I had the retina plugin enabled for mobiles, it was trying to serve a 1490×966 image on the mobile phone. I had to disable that plugin for mobiles, because newspaper is delivering an image larger than a standard 2x retina image for all mobile phones regardless of whether or not they have the pixels to display the entire image.

I guess I’ll focus on the other things I can do something about, but I wish this would be addressed in a theme update if it’s possible with the bootstrap framework…

YAY!!! Hate those pesky gremlins which hang out for a day then leave. At least they left! ๐Ÿ˜‰

(This usually indicates a caching issue someplace, btw.)

Hi Guys,

Replied to this thread again last night – not sure why my reply isn’t coming up but the long and short of it was: It’s fixed! I don’t know how or why but it just started accepting changes to the custom CSS again.

Thanks for all the help ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi,

You could do this via custom css, like this: http://screencast.com/t/Wh5pa1eYI

@media (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 1200px) {

.td_block9 .td_mod8 .item-details {
margin-left: 0px;
top: 242px;
}

.td_block9 .td_mod8 {
margin-bottom: 146px;
}

.td_mod8 .entry-title {
font-size: 10px !important;
}
}

Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have an option like this but it can be done via custom css for the posts you don’t want to show and hide them using the display: none; property or you can use the tag filter to only get the posts that you want to show and exclude the other ones by removing the tag which filters them.

Thanks
