Hello, how would I change the font and text size, etc. for the “No Posts to Display” message that is displayed per category when there are no posts yet. I do not see the option in the admin panel fonts. When I examine it with dev. tools, it says it’s just an H2. Thank you.
You would need to either
a) switch to desktop view in Chrome mobile browser
b) create a javascript switch button to load the desktop CSS over mobile version — you’d have to hire somebody to make that for you, if you don’t know what that means
Theme does not support “view switch” — as it’s setup to “look for mobile” device, based on the device sending notice that it’s mobile, then serve the mobile version. This is why Chrome and some other mobile browswers let you send the notice it’s pretending to be a desktop device to serve that layout instead.
Not sure that helps – just some background.
For example on the iphone there is a button “request desktop version” of site built-in.
Hello,
How do I Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS as suggested by google page test
The instruction TEXT was followed. The person I hired to help, said the jquery files that needs to be deleted weren’t there.
We are not sure how to fix that as suggested in your guide.
at https://tools.pingdom.com I’m getting – “The following cacheable resources have a short freshness lifetime. Specify an expiration at least one week in the future for the following resources:”
/wp-content/themes … aper/includes/demos/sport/demo_style.css?ver=7.3
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js?ver=7.3
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/style.css?ver=7.3
In my htaccess file I have this code:
<IfModule mod_expires.c>
# Enable expirations
ExpiresActive On
# Default directive
ExpiresDefault “access plus 2 days”
# My favicon
ExpiresByType image/x-icon “access plus 1 year”
# Other
ExpiresByType application/x-shockwave-flash “access 1 month”
# Images
ExpiresByType image/gif “access plus 6 month”
ExpiresByType image/png “access plus 6 month”
ExpiresByType image/jpg “access plus 6 month”
ExpiresByType image/jpeg “access plus 6 month”
# CSS
ExpiresByType text/css “access 1 month”
# Javascript
ExpiresByType application/javascript “access plus 1 year”
ExpiresByType text/x-javascript “access 1 month”
</IfModule>
But it looks like it’s not being applied to the theme’s javascript, and also when I have the rec’m settings for the rec’m WP super cache plugin, it keeps it refreshed to often (every 24 hrs). But even with the plugin disabled, it’s not caching it long enough like the htaccess code is saying. Any solution to this? Thanks!
Hello IamLegend,
You should try using the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
.single_template_8 .td-a-rec-id-content_inline{
display:none;
}

Hello faraz,
Please notice that our theme has been designed to have these sizes for our Big Grids. We do not recommend to increase or decrease them because you can break the theme layout but it is just your choice. If you want to change the structure for Big Grid you should check your style.css by the certain class of Big Grid and change from there any parameters you want, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/4If8dZT7Sdk Notice that this is not a simple task and therefore you should adjust the other elements for bringing the best results. if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/web designer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello drakulina,
If you want to have a specific size you should change the actual width and height values with yours and then you can use the @media queries rule to make it responsive for any devices. For more information about this method, you should consult here -> http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css3_pr_mediaquery.asp
If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello kr15k0,
You should use a bit of CSS code for their alignment. As an instance, you can try using the float:left or right, depending on how you want to look. You can provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer and also, so I try to provide a more accurate response.

Hi,
I understand now, but doing so you will need to adapt the menu and social icons to display properly in a smaller width. The theme witch is not easily changed as all the theme elements are created on the fixed width.
You can try this css but you need to keep this modification in mind if something goes wron. I have not tested this in every scenario:
.td-header-menu-wrap-full{
width: 980px;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
}
.td-header-main-menu{
width: 980px;
}
Thank you!
Hello,
Adsense does not work by altering the size with css. You will have to simply add the adsense code without the css in the theme ad spots and then select the size you want for the ad from the size selectors in the ad section: http://screencast.com/t/qwNuO4SeFj
Thank you!
Hello Syams,
If you want to change the style of the quotes, you should change the values from the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS Area.
The code is ->
.td-post-content blockquote p{
font-size: 15px;
line-height: 20px;
font-weight: normal;
font-style: italic;
text-align: center;
text-transform: capitalize;
color: red;
}

If not css, can you porvide me with the line numbers only, where I can edit the css .. I will truly appreciate.
I figured out how to install the theme Via FTP Filezilla & Cpanel. But it still doesn’t install with the WordPress theme installer like the other versions of the Newspaper theme.
However I encountered this problem. Here is the link for the video showing you that when I click customize theme in wordpress, it has a error saying: Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_detect_encoding() in /home/newsboughcom/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2992
Here is the video showing you the result: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7CSSXvc0XZsZm96elVCckpSOWs
This is a fresh install.
Hi guys,
I am using Big Grid 4 and 12 and wanted to change the heights of these grids while keeping it responsive. I am able to edit the grid text/fonts very well, as I know where the CSS for grids start from. Just struggling badly when I need to reduce the height by 30%.
I will truly appreciate if you can share the css snippet for at least one grid of your choice in case I need to reduce the height by 30% responsively (in all layouts), other than mobile version.
Regards,
Faz

Hi,
The spaces are very important in css. If you have used the code like you have pasted it above it will not work. Please check Bogdan’s code.
Thanks!
Hi,
Please try this custom css and see if it works:
.td-grid-style-1 .td-module-thumb a:last-child:before {
background: linear-gradient(to bottom, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) 50%, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5) 90%);
}
It works on Big Grid style 1.
Thanks!
Hi.
I want to hide the author box from posts that are made from the user ‘news room’ (eg, with user id = 10 ). I don’t want to hide it in specific posts with css, but rather target all posts of that user, past, present, and future.
I have located in the file loop-single.php (and loop-single-1.php loop-single-2.php etc) the line:
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_author_box();?>
I suspect I have to wrap an if statement around this line, something like that:
<?php if ( .... ) { ?> //author id is not equal to 10, display the author card
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_author_box();?>
<?php } ?>
how do i do this the correct way? what shall i put in this if statement?
Hello! I have gone back to using the Big Grid element on Newsmag and the CSS provided no longer works. I assume with the 2.xx rewrite some of the module and block names were changed. Can you please help provide the proper syntax I should use to replicate this from before
.td-big-grid-overlay:after{
opacity: 0.7;
}
.td-image-gradient:before{
background: linear-gradient(to bottom, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) 50%, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5) 90%);
}
Thank you!

Hello,
Please use this code:
.td-category-header .td-page-title{
text-transform: initial!important;;
}
You can add the code in the theme pane;->custom css box
Thank you!
Hello,
Unfortunately, I do not know where this error occurs. I suspect your untested plugins which can interact with the theme core and cause a lot of unknown issues. Try to disable the untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. You can try the code below and place it in Theme panel ->Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
.td-adspot-title {
background-color: white;
}
.vc_custom_1478337829203 {
background-color:white!important;
}
