I am not a coder but I could try editing the CSS style sheet through FTP if that helps.

It appears the theme uses the accent color from theme panel for the link color in posts. What would be the custom CSS to change the color of links that are in posts?

Thanks

Hi,

1) In order to get rid of the margin, you can use a bit of css:

.home .td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_1 > div, .home .td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_2 > div, .home .td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_3 > div, .home  .td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_4 > div, .home .td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_5 > div{
margin-bottom:0!important
}

2) In order to limit the width of the ad on the category pages and remove the spacing and title/breadcrumb you can use this code:

.category .g-single{
width: 1068px!important;
}
.category .td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_1 > div{
margin-bottom:0!important;
}
.category .td-crumb-container{
display:none!important;
}
.category .td-category-pulldown-filter{
display:none!important;
}
.category .td-category-header .td-page-title{
display:none;
}
.category .td-category-header{
padding-bottom:0!important;
}

3) In order to get the post ad above the content and the sidebar, you will need to edit the theme files and use a do_shortcode function inside the post template you want the ad to be displayed in. For example you can use a theme custom ad 1 spot and add this shortode in each of the loop files coresponding to the post styles you use:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[td_block_ad_box spot_id="custom_ad_1"]'); ?>
Ad this code to the very top of the loop file like so:
http://screencast.com/t/76hTfIICn6kS
Make sure you have an ad placed in custom ad 1 .

I hope this helps.
Thank you for your message!

Hi Bogdan,

thank you – when I look on your example at screencast.com it is the right way and the thing I was looking for – but adding the code to my Custom CSS it won’t work…

You can take a look at http://www.pureglam.tv and nothing happened. I will need the code working for…

BigGrid7, Slide, Block11, BigGrid2, BigGrid5, Block15, Block19, BigGrid6, BigGridSlide

Thank you so much…

Hello,

I understand your request now, You can change the gradient colors using css and if you want a white gradient you can can use this code:

.td-big-grid-wrapper .td-module-thumb a:last-child:before{
background: linear-gradient(to bottom,rgba(255, 255, 255, 0) 0%,rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.7) 100%);
}

This will be the initial result: http://screencast.com/t/TI94kQA0cwh
You can change the 2 colors in the code for different results. You can use the color selector here to pick the color and transparency: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/CSS_Colors/Color_picker_tool

I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hello Woozoo,

1)Please ensure that you use the full image size when you add your image like this -> http://screencast.com/t/nAWzXa4vz and if you want to be bigger, you have to use a bit of CSS to increase the width or height for each image. Below I gave you an example for a featured image from default post template.

.td-post-template-default .td-post-featured-image img {
width: 900px;
height: 400px;
}

2) If you want to reduce that vertical space, you have to decrease the width of the td-outer-wrap container. Please try the code below and add it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

The code is ->

.td-boxed-layout #td-outer-wrap {
width: 1116px;
}

The result -> http://screencast.com/t/0T2gpO9V

If is not what you mean, please provide more details about your desired changes.

Hi everyone of tagdiv,

is there a chance to replace the black/grey shade on most boxes and grids with a white shade – so everything will look a bit more friendly and will remove the intensive colors from a few photos?

The solution totally to remove these photos is good – but white or any other light color will be perfect…

Can you give me the CSS codes on how to change these shades.

How to replace black shade with white shade...

Hello salimnazer,

This kind of error appears because you try to rule the script and this is not available because you have already the Newspaper 6.3.2 and this script is available only if you have version 4 and you have to update to version 6.

Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come bundled with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.

The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom CSS will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them.

All your customization are recorded in the database which is not affected by this update.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message and thank you for purchasing our theme.

Hi all,

New here and to Newsmag.

I’m customizing the theme. I use the main menu at the top, and not the ‘top’ menu. (style 9 minus the top menu).

I’d like to give the menu a ‘tabbed’ look. I found a start to doing that with this…

.menu-item.menu-item-type-taxonomy a {
border-radius: 10px 10px 0 0;
}

That doesn’t do it completely though, this doesn’t seem to apply the css to the very first link on the left, and does apply to the drop down menus… so when you mouse over the dropped links, they have the ‘tabbed’ look but shouldn’t, it doesn’t look right.

Does anyone here already have experience at making the main menu look like tabs? If so, can you share the css?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Andrei,

1 – A. Thanks for the CSS tip. I made the modifications and the ad is no longer over the buttons
B. Re: The ad widget under the share buttons. The widget code on that page was inserted into the theme panel “Article Bottom Ad” I moved the ad spot to below the share buttons using the instructions giving to me in this post. https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/pagination-buttons/

4. To display the pagination above the article button add you need to remove the the ad from post content: http://screencast.com/t/PWgzx852 then place the ad after the pagination function in posts’s template file, like this: http://screencast.com/t/pgCbyqSPF You can use the do_shortcode(‘ ‘) function and insert the ad shortcode from VC: http://screencast.com/t/W4SFKPnoShnhttp://screencast.com/t/lqaJxdVdMee in every post template files coresponding for the post templetes used.

The article bottom ad is visible on non paginated post and on this paginated post: http://bit.ly/1PB9HQf but no on this one http://bit.ly/1nObbMO. All plugins are disabled.

Dude - reply

Hi, not my theme … but basically, no — again, the entire site loads ONE set of styles such as “travel.”

If you want ONE category to load entirely different set of styles, like “sports,” you would likely need to create a custom template for the category you want to use the different “style” — eg. category-sports.php and then edit that to load the styles from the CSS folder for “sports” instead of “classic blog” …

If that makes no sense, you’d likely need to hire a developer 🙂

TagDiv may have better “official” answer, but that’s how most themes like this work with pre-built style “sets.”

I don’t think so, dude. The “themes” included are one big style sheet (CSS) with all the sizes, colors, etc.

In theory, you could create a custom template for a single category per the docs on wordpress.org, and then have that single theme load the OTHER style sheets.

Hi,

It can be done with a bit of css. It will cause the image to be cut off so another piece of code is required to adjust the image to the new height:
.td-post-template-6 .td-post-header{
height: 530px!important;
}
.td-post-template-6 .td-stretch-width{
transform: translate3d(-50%, -100px, 0px) scale(1.12, 1.12)!important;
}

In the translate3d part of the code you can see the -100 value. This controlls the vertical position of the image. you can adjust this to your preference.

I hope this helps.
Thank you!
