Hello, I’m having trouble with the following: I would like no space between my first element and the menu, but I can’t find the right way to do it.
Right now, I found a compromise which only works by chance it seems – I take the demo called “Video News” and I am able to change the colour of the space between the menu and first element to the same background colour as the menu and the background of the element. With the other demos I tried, I always get a white space, which I can’t change.
In fact, what I really would like is no space at all, like in the demo called “Photography” for example. But when I use the Photography demo and replace the frong page by my own, there immediately comes a white space between the menu and the first element.
Could you help please?

Hello,

Have you imported the demo with or without content? If yo imported with content, the page should already be present. If you import a demos without content you will not get the page, just the overall style of the demo.
In order to keep the page but not the posts when installing a demo with content, simply create a copy of the page and then uninstall the content. You will be left with the page copy you can use as a homepage.

Thank you!

In setting up Demo Fashion Style magazine template of Newsmag each image used in the article (post) grid view has many different-sized multiples such as p5-80×60.jpg, p5-100×75.jpg, p5-150×150.jpg, p5-180×135.jpg, etc,etc,up to p5-768×513.jpg.

19 separate sized jpgs for this one article in all its responsive views.

Other articles might use 8 different width-height ratios for one image. Another article uses 11 different width-height ratios.

These images are also cropped differently for wide or height-dominant displays.

I would guess you were optimizing Responsive views so that you’d have fixed ratio sizes that would fit so many devices.

But I cannot do this for every article of a News Magazine without a full-time graphics person just to generate so many custom proportions for each article image.

Do you have an auto-generate function in Newsmag that automatically generates all needed proportions from the master full-size image?

Otherwise it appears I will not be able to work right-out-of-the-box and make my magazine articles ever look as slickly responsive as your Fashion theme demo unless i can generate up to 19 different image ratios.

What is the story here on how a new article will be created with its own representative image for different responsive sizes and/or mobile devices?

Thanks for clearing up my confusion!

@acdmin There are two sliders provided by the theme at the moment, the slider and the big grid slider, these do not require plugins (they are included in the composer)
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ios-slider/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-slide/
Only the Revolution slider has to be installed, the plugin is included in the theme package. This slider is very complex. We provide some demo sliders in the theme package
https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/
Those are sliders that can be seen in the theme live demos.

I just bought the newspaper theme and installed one of the demos. The catagory pages work fine, but the home page just shows the page title. I have researched for hours but couldn’t figure out how to get the home page to appear as in the demo.

Fixed!

Using FTP I deleted the entire folder of Newspaper from my themes. I then re-installed the entire folder of Newspaper. This time the demos are working. I guess it was an installation error.

Thanks!

Hello!

I’ve watched the videos and tried to do this numerous times but end up with the same result.

I installed a new instance of WordPress and then installed Newspaper via FTP. It showed up on my list of themes when I signed into WordPress and I activated it.

However, when I installed a demo my website becomes completely blank. None of the demo information can be found on my page, in face the entire page is just white and there is no content.

When I activate a different theme WordPress theme other than Newspaper, then everything is normal.

When I uninstall a demo then the website does show up using Newspaper but again, I can’t use the demos.

This is really frustrating because the main reason to purchase Newspaper was for the demos and they don’t seem to be working. Please help! What am I doing wrong?

I attempted to try a demo theme to change things up on my website, but when I did, I’m not entirely sure what happened. TD Composer is no longer accessible and every time I attempt to use it, it takes me to a 502 Error page.
I’ve completely deactivated/deleted the plugins and theme then reinstalled and am still seeing this.

Hi, I recently installed your theme because of it’s supossed speed in loading. (http://ARRIBAELCAMPO.COM.MX) I have seen fast loading demos, but Upon installing and activating the theme it’self, I am net with the surprise that My site loads too slow (up to 3 minutes) or doesnt load at all.

I have deactivated all plugins to see if there are any differences, but the site still doesnt load. I am only using the pluggins recomended and no others.

¿What am I doing wrong? I realy need my site to work, and it’s why I bought this theme.

Hi,

All the demos are built with the tagDiv composer, this is the main page builder in the theme. So editing a demo homepage should not be a problem. Maybe you have added additional content in it, that is not part of the composer.
I tried as well to edit the art creek homepage with the composer, there were no issues

Please check if there are enough resources allocated
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Ask your hosting provider to increase the parameters mentioned in that guide, if necessary. Insufficient resources can cause issues with the theme and plugins.

Let us know the results.

Thanks

Hello Simon,
thanks for the quick reply.

The problem is in categories, not in popular categories.
In a original local installation the same happens when updating theme with DEMO SAY WHAT?
Also the widget title does not use accent mark

Hello,

1. The forum is the official support platform. If you want a more private discussion, you can contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com
2. It could have been a caching issue or a plugin issue.
3. The color of the hamburger icon can be set like so: https://www.screencast.com/t/tBfPD4Ihr
4. That is a custom class added to a few rows in the art creek demo. The class has specific css to it so it will make everything dark. If you want to customize a block background, you can use the tagdiv composer settings for that row: https://www.screencast.com/t/cWO5R09e5MMB

Thank you!

Hi,

All the blocks and big grids are predefined in terms of layout, they will always display in a predefined way on desktop and mobile
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/full-big-grid-1/
Only through modifications they could be made to display differently, not by a theme setting.
I could give you a code that you can try in Theme panel->Advanced CSS in the phones section. It will make full big grid 9 display like this on mobile
https://www.screencast.com/t/Fx2h0Q7Y7u
This is the code

.td_block_big_grid_fl_9 .td-big-grid-wrapper .td-big-grid-scroll .td-big-grid-post {
width: 100%;
float: left;
}
.td_block_big_grid_fl_9 .td-big-grid-wrapper .td-big-grid-scroll .td_module_mx25 {
margin-left: 0;
margin-top: 3px;
}

Thanks

Hi,

Initially the block titles are black (this cannot be changed by a theme setting), the hover color being the theme accent color set in the theme panel
https://www.screencast.com/t/qlwGTeAhamgh

If you choose a background color for the block title like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/R1tEhDG5
Then that will be the hover color for the titles of that particular block.

Also some demos can contain custom design and override any of these settings.

The code my colleague provided above will change the default black color of the module article titles. The hover color will not work anymore if you use that code. To keep the hover color a code like this should be used

h3 > a{
color:yellow;
}

This code will also not affect the big grid, that has more precise CSS. Try it and let me know.

Thanks

Hi,

The video icon will be displayed on the thumbnails of a module, if the post is a video post, like this
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/category/tagdiv-video-tutorials/
If there is no thumbnail the icon will not be displayed. The function for this is in this theme file, if you want to modify it

Thanks

<header class=”td-post-title”>
<h3 class=”entry-title td-module-title”>Крапивница — фото, симптомы и лечение у детей</h3>
<div class=”td-module-meta-info”>
</div>
</header>

Which phone/browser did you use? I have used both iOS and Android Phones and Google Chrome, but I get the same problem.

I don’t even see the full homepage. There are shortcodes on top and bottom and just one post appearing.

The homepage is built with TD Composer. and is setup just like the one in demo.
Do you need WP admin credentials?

Hi,
Our client asked us to add 5 posts of another, car website.
The car website developers provided us with a .json file and we created a .php file.
Since there is no another way to add te content of the .php file, we created an iframe.
However, we loose the responsive design.
We would like to create something like a block to add our PHP code and add that block in the home page via tagComposer.
Here is our zip file which includes our PHP and CSS and here is our extra section we would like to add.

We would appreciate your valuable help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, so i bought the newspaper theme and i imported a demo to see how it is.
My problem is that the site loads very hard and when I did a test on “google speed test” I got 10/100 points.
What can i do to solv this?

Hi,

We could take a look at the images, if you could provide links where we can see them. It would all depend on the source of the image, if a high quality image is used the thumbnails will also be of quality.
The live theme demo contains quality images for example

I bought the Travel demo and changed the header image. However, my site now has a gap between the header menu and the main image that i uploaded. What parameter do i need to change to eliminate that gap and have the image and the black menu touching as is the case with the demo.

Hi,

You could choose from the many theme demos, each one can be installed and provide a starting point
https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/select_demo_newspaper
https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Or you can begin form scratch, use the theme composer and build pages
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Use blocks, grids, full grids etc to build pages how you want
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/full-big-grid-1/
Check the Features menu in the live demo for more of the theme options. Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks

Hi,

So basically what you want to do is to modify that module so that the article title is positioned below the post meta. That could be done by editing the module file. I believe that is module 11 in the screenshot
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/module-11-layout/
You will have to edit the module file and chnage the order of the elements there

I don’t know why but this problem is also on my demo site, not only on my production site. This happen even with CDN (CloudFlare: Cache+Minify), Cache and all external plugins deactivated and exclusively on the Twitch icon. I’ve also cleared the custom mobile CSS and re-installed the tadDiv mobile plugin.

Anyway, what about the rich snippet problem?
