Hello,
I have recently bought the newspaper theme and it is not doing any good. The mobile speed of my website is slower than before.
The mobile speed, as well as desktop speed, is very slow.
5.1s FCP7.7s DCL
It also shows that “PSI estimates this page requires 1 additional round trips to load render blocking resources and 2.4 MB to fully render. The median page requires 4 round trips and 2.7 MB. Fewer round trips and bytes results in faster pages.”
How to remove the additional round trip and improve page speed?
Thank You
A way to make it faster is to add the code directly in style.css but unfortunately only by disabling it from the theme panel can you hide it 100%.
Thank you!
Hello,
If you want the title do disappear faster, you should add the code directly in style.css rather than the custom code section or the plugin custom code.
Thank you!
Hello,
Each block has been customized in the fitness blog to have the grey color. If you do not want this color, you should remove it from here:https://www.screencast.com/t/u2k9jfDx3rxP
There are multiple instances of the color code

As for the category tag in the url, the theme cannot remove it. You can do it with the SEO Yoast plugin though.

Hello YTGAW,
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. My site slowed as well after the update. the frond end and the admin dashboard takes longer to load.
I was doing some seo on the previous theme to make it load faster and was doing well but then i updated the theme and now it seems slower.
This is the url http://173.254.28.157/~amerikal/
Can you please check it and if possible point me to what I’m missing to speed it up?
Thanks
Since updating last night, which by the way I REALLY despise the new TagDiv Composer “Have to Change”. It has done nothing but cause be headaches. I cannot use Tabs and now my responsive site is unresponsive. The slider, the second one since the top one only has one article, does not work. This is since the update to 8.7.
I DO NOT WANT TO USE TAGDIV MOBILE TEMPLATE. I want your stuff to work as should a responsive site and not you telling me the page info I should use because YOU want to make it faster.
The page is here: http://gephardtdaily.com
Hello jubeljoy,

Upgraded to 8.7.2 and the problems appear to have disappeared into the byte bin. Faster on the dedicated server (which was running 8.7.1 and now loads on the site running on SiteGround. Looks like you fixed the problem.
Thanks.

Hello,
You can contact us in private via contact@tagdiv.com
If you require page speed implementation, please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thank you!
Source: changelog included in update_log.txt
[ Version 8.7.2 ]
– improvement: improved tagDiv composer selection mask. New colors and better ui, now the controls are outside of the selection mask, this allows better selection for small items.
– improvement: wp-admin performance issue. We optimized the composer to load only what’s needed and where is needed. Wp-admin speed should greatly improve.
– improvement: huge speed improvemnts in tagDiv composer editor. We did a full memory consumption audit for tagDiv Composer and we fixed a few memory leaks.
– improvement: we removed unneded confirmations from tagDiv composer. For example when the content of the page was not changed and a user wanted to close the composer.
– improvement: when closing tagDiv Composer you will be redirected to the previeous page instead of the default edit page. We found that this provides a better user experience
– improvement: tagDiv composer now has a new color picker script that is a lot faster then the old one. The same color picker is used on the widgets.
– improvement: we added a couple of new social icons that are available on the top bar and footer of the site

Upgraded Newspaper 8.6 to 8.7.1 over the weekend on my primary political news site (www.capitolhillblue.com). Put the site on Ultimatum (previous drag and drop theme) while deleted 8.6 and the plug-ins. First try to install via “add theme” kept giving timeouts and requests to retry. Finally gave up and installed via FTP on dedicated server running CentOS (8-processor, 64Core, 32GB of memory) with Apache/PhP 7.2.
Installed newer version of T/D Composed and everything appears in place and running fine. First impressions show faster page loading and accesses but some slower access to wp-admin functions. Status function shows PhP version 7.2.2, 128M post_max_size, 120 mad_execution_time, 3000 max_input_vars, 256MB WP Memory Limit and green status lights.
So far, everything appears to be working.
Then I tried upgrading my copy of Newspaper 8.6 on my local news site (www.blueridgemuse.com) running on Siteground. Upgrade of the software appeared to run OK but deleteing the old T/D Composer and upgrading showed the installation going through fine but then the white screen on any access that involved WP-Admin functions. Nothing worked. The only way to get the WP-Admin back was by deleting the T/D Composer, which restored admin operations but with no composer functions. After switching the versions of PhP from 5.6 up to 7.1 (latest offered by SiteGround) with no results I deleted version 8.7.1 and reinstalled 8.6 and the plugins for that version and everything returned to normal.
After reading some of the problems here, it appears a problem with some web hosting operations but not others. The SiteGround setup is at their “Go Geek” level with a dedicated IP and extra services. The system status for the Version 8.6 version that runs that site shows PhP Version 7.0.27, 128M post_max_size, 120 max_execution_time, 3000 max_input_vars and 128MB WP Memory Limit.
Version 8.6 works OK for now on the SiteGround site but I hope the problems with compatibility can be resolved in the future. Providing this information to see if any of the info might help.

Hi… I tried to make my blog faster, that why I always measure my blog score on GTMetrix. The score actually was good, but I want to improve more.
I have problem with Yslow “Add Expires headers” https://prnt.sc/ijwjbg, I see google font was there, so I decide to change all my blog font, but after changing font with Robot by “costum font”, Google font still there https://prnt.sc/ijwrzx Open sans.
How completely disable google font for my blog? to prevent it from appearing again on GTMterix, did I miss some step? or those Open sans font comes from WordPress?
Thanks,
Hi,
@notageek4u From what I can see at first glance, you could try and optimize the website more. For example the homepage has 10mb in size, that would be high. Regenerate the thumbnails because it seems some of the thumbnails are not created properly and the full image size is served

Hello
First off, let me thank Ochelh for the help! We appreciate it.
Now for the issue at hand: CSS works in cascades. It will first load the default style and then make the rewrites you add in the theme panel. Any change you make to the css will be loaded like that. In order to make this load faster you should add the custom code directly in style.css under the main theme folder. This will make the rewrite much faster and not noticeable.
Thank you!
Hi,
The theme can be installed normally, there is only one theme version that can be installed regardless of the end purpose. Then you can use any element you want. So you can build pages using only text elements if that is required
– https://www.screencast.com/t/cgGQOflBeug
The multi-purpose plugin also provides many row layouts
– https://www.screencast.com/t/vHAohxYir7Gm
Of course the website should be noticeably faster when using only text elements, the page size will be small.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please also test with google page speed as well. Sometimes tests can provide wrong results. We have seen many times sites that get low scores in these tests but load way faster than any others that have way better scores. If the implementation is done correctly, it should work properly.
Thank you!
