- TutorialsFrom WPBakery to tagDiv Composer
Never had an issue with the newspaper theme. I updated this morning to the new 8.7.1 version, and now i get this message on the homepage:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_detect_encoding() in /home/clovisroundup/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_css_res_compiler.php on line 54
HELP!
Hello,
I just updated to 8.7 but unfortunately it broke my homepage design. I was already using TD Composer before since 8.0, working fine, but it seems after the update the plugin was uninstalled and fails to reinstall now.
In the plugin page, when I try to install it I get this message “this plugin doesn’t have valid headers”, and “plugin installation failed”.
I could really use some help ! Thank you
Olivier

Dear Support-Team,
if I set the menu background color to a custom color it is active on all categories, posts, tags and pages without page builder… So far so good!
But on the homepage (made with pagebuilder) the menu is only black. Nevertheless the snap on menu has the correct color…
I Tried several things but nothing was helping out. Please give me some advise to solve this problem and make the menu background color working on Page Builder also!
Thanks. Will do that. Though the block shows the smallest image as size 696 while I was thinking of a smaller size for the images on the two vertical blocks on the left and right in this image http://prntscr.com/igr2a2 and on the latest post block (After changing the image size from 1068 t0 696, the homepage reduced from 4.28mb to 2.65mb).
Hello still i am not able to do the change/update name of the blocks on the homepage. Currently the default category blocks which appears i.e: Gadgets,Android, Design, etc.

Hi,
I conducted a forum search and I found this solution.
.td-module-comments{
display:none!important
}
But I don’t know CSS so I don’t know where to insert it.
Thanks,
Jake
I switched my site from http to https. After that images are not displayed anymore. The images adresses are correctly moved to the new https adress and they are also correctly shown in the article editor as well as in the TD Composer. They are just missing in the frontend. But, for instance, I can right-click there and have every option, as if the image were displayed: I can download it or open the pictures URL, where its also displayed correctly.

Hi
I’ve updated my Newspaper theme and after that my homepage (javiypilar.com) doesn’t work
Please, help me
I need it running ASAP
Thanks a lot for your reply, epickenyan.
I checked out the recommended plugin in the post but it hasn’t been updated in 4 years but that gave me the idea to search for a more recent plugin, so thanks for that!
For anyone else who might be interested in this, I found a more up-to-date plugin that does this:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-hide-post/
I have installed it and it works fine in hiding posts from homepage, category page, feeds, etc.
But I still wonder if Newspaper has this option? I would still appreciate a reply from one of the Newspaper support team please.

See this guide http://www.wpexplorer.com/hide-posts-wordpress-homepage/
I can see your pages on my smartphone, including the homepage. Try using another browser or tell your friends to check. Clear browser and website cache and try again. (I don’t work here).
How do I remove the author name from the TD composer element “Homepage post”?
To create custom homepage you can follow this instruction > https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/.
I know this might be somewhere in the documentation but after looking for over an hour, perhaps someone can help me out.
The theme, by default, shows recent posts first before older posts, I want to prevent some recent posts from showing on the homepage. How can I do that, please?
I have my homepage showing blog posts – how do I create a custom homepage and keep it showing the blog posts?
@irfan.id

Hi
I set up my Homepage with the Tagdiv Composer like this
[vc_row][vc_column][td_block_4 limit="3" custom_title="Aktuell"][vc_column_text]
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][td_block_21 custom_title="Weitere aktuelle Beiträge" limit="10"][/vc_column][/vc_row
How can I add pagination or infinite Scrolling to the second part?

Hi there,
I’m wondering how to add a custom sidebar to my homepage when I’ve set it to be a homepage that only lists the latest posts?
I can’t seem to find the options.
Thank you!
Cheers,
Jeff
Is there any amp for the homepage with the amp plugin? Also are the menu navigations absent in amp pages?
How do I change the images? I only saw three instances inside the homepage shortcodes that were using the 1068×0 image size and I changed them to 696×385, but I can’t figure out how to change for the smaller vertical blocks.
Hello Chief Nation,
Notice that update does not affect any padding and margins, sorry! Before each update, most important is to make a full backup to your database to avoid losing all of your data. Make sure that you have correctly installed the theme via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. Try to recreate your homepage and check the results and also, very important is to use the exact plugin version which come bundled with the theme core files.
Thanks for the message!
