Set the template to video, add a video url from youtube and the theme will automaticalyy grab the thumb.
2) If you want to place a simple image on the homepage and not a block, you can either use the single image element or the image box element

is it possible to use Homepage Post on a homepage but without having the background behind the whole page? I like the layout of the Box Homepage Post, but I would like to have the image just in the box. Possible with a few lines of code?

I got this code from looking at other posts and suggestions. It has removed my main menu and header but leaves a large white space at the top of the page. Fullofevents.com
Is there a way to remove this large white space completely and have the revolution slider to the top? If not, even reducing this space by 50% would work as well.

theme has two versions of mobile. The first one is mobile responsive which display the elements from desktop and the second one is mobile theme which is set it by default
Iam using second version (mobile theme plugin). Homepage is ok.
But in custom pages this version not working.(blocks do not appear)
Is possible to use default mobile version (first version, display the elements from desktop) only in custom pages?
I used that custom CSS to make my article title’s color on hover turn to red, however I recently changed my homepage slightly, adding an ad unit in the middle. For some reason, the hover style does not work for the top four articles now (http://justfreshkicks.com/). Is there an update, addition or change to the CSS code I need to use? Thanks!

I am actually using Block 5 to display the latest sneaker news on my homepage. Also, I did notice that I can go into the Block Settings but all I can do there is change the pagination type. However, what I wanted to do is keep my pagination type (infinity load), but change the look of it like on http://sneakerbardetroit.com with a black background and red hover. So is there any custom CSS code you can give me to do that? Thanks!

Is there a way to make the theme respect the post permalink in home page, so when a post is clicked in home it should takes to that post permalink. This works well in categories archive and when posts are clicked it takes to their permalink you can see it here http://newzcliq.com/category/local/ . How can I make any post from anywhere direct to permalink?

How do I remove the dates showing up on the pages? I simply want to enable showing of dates when it’s in a single post, but in homepage and categories page, I want the dates to be hidden.

My website is set up so that news articles have a category hierarchy. They are all given the category of news article, but can further be given a category of local, entertainment, etc.
When displayed on the homepage, some display with a category of local, yet others display a category of news. News is a little to broad so I would like the subcategory to be displayed instead. Is there a way to get them to display the subcategory, ie local entertainment, etc instead of news without removing the news category?

I’m using a page on my site to build my homepage, but the breadcrumbs feature on the page shift everything down and ruin the spacing. Is there a way to disable breadcrumbs on this specific page I have set as my homepage so it loads properly? I don’t mind if the breadcrumbs show up on the posts, just not the pages. Thanks!

I am trying to use either the block called HomePagePost, which i cannot get to show for love nor money.
And
The block called Slide. Now this works, however if i select a category that has 3 posts for example. All the headlines are posted on top of one another making it illegible and all the categories show on the slide too.

By default, the theme comes bundled with the default responsive mobile version. Also, if you install the mobile theme plugin, the mobile version will be enabled. So, if you want to come back, you simply disable the mobile theme plugin and the theme will be automatically switched to the general responsive version.
However, if you want to change the name of “Latest Articles” on the homepage, you should edit the theme core file like as front-page.php file like this -> http://screencast.com/t/oRzgR3i71Vn Also, from there, if you want to change the block sorting, you should change here -> http://screencast.com/t/e1UKe7xnwUJ

The title text which is supposed to stay under image is getting out and touching the next title. Please let me know how i can restrict the title text from going to the nearby title.

I loaded the settings of the page straight from the News Magazine demo on my localhost dev server and copied the VC code into the homepage on the production site (only difference with production is that I only loaded the settings for the demo for the theme panel, no content). Both the local dev and production sites are seeing the same issue.

Please keep in mind that all the layout and functionalities which are found in this demo have been made using the theme features. I suggest you install the Scandal demo with the content and then you should check the homepage structure and you will see what kind of blocks has been used in that demo. Notice that each demo has an own style and if you want to replicate one of them from scratch it will be pretty hard to do that. You should follow my advice and try to spend more time to understand how it was built.

If you want to add an image on the homepage you can use the single image element in visual composer. If his image is the featured iamge from a particular post, you can use one of the theme blocks and filtered to only show one particular post from the block settings

if you find it difficult to add the nextpage tag on each post, you can try a different approach and use a module that is not used anywhere else on your site and simply enlarge the automatic excerpt to a desired length. Please provide more details to how you are implementing the featured posts on the homepage. There is only 1 element that will use the featured image as a background on pages and that is the homepage post element. You can use any other block instead of the homepage post and there will no longer be any background. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

Two questions for ya.
1) I’m constantly updating my pages every day (I’m at 155 on my homepage at the moment) and was just wondering if I am going to be running into any problems in the future. Will page revisions just keep going into the thousands and hundred of thousands?
2) I have several sections where I post articles on my website. On the home page I have my big articles (Big Grid 1) and then I just have quick news stories listed right below labeled “Top News” (Block 16). Sometimes I’ll have a big story in both sections, but not usually. In order to not have both stories listed in both sections I have to go into the Big Grid 1 under Post ID Filters to exclude articles that I want solely under “Top News.” Does that make sense and is there a way around this method?

I read your documentation but could not find an answer on how to do the following:
I would like to move My Latest Articles block from its current location to the Most Popular (Block 12) location and move the Most Popular block to My Latest Articles location. I see the Most Popular (block 12) in the Visual Composer but do not see My Latest Articles block.
1. Can I do this in the Visual Composer? Move these Blocks?
2. If Yes, how please?
Also, I would like to move the News Category block from its current location to under the Must Read block but I don’t see the News Category block in the Visual Composer.
