we’re enjoying the Newspaper. But just as we hit our 16th entry in the CMS, we encountered a problem.
Whenever we’re using an Admin account in the CMS, the homepage displays like this:
Yet whenever we’re using an ordinary user account–say, an Author or Subscriber account, this is what displays:
We need some help on this quick since we’re looking at a soft launch by the end of October.
We’d appreciate a hand on this one. We’re no coders,just journalists doing website tasks. And we can’t afford to seek professional help. I hope you understand.

i just installed Newspaper6 and from the Theme panel i set up background for homepage and for the cathegory pages, none of both are working i tried fixed and scroll uploading or just by url but the background still white and doesnt change, tried deleting cache i even disabled the caching pluging but theres no way to make the background work help please
On my homepage http://www.financialthing.com/ I want under Latest section to show all blog posts in the order they were published. I see latest option but it isn’t showing all the posts (I have about 10 posts but only 5 show here) and no more button to see more Latest posts? What is the best option to display this. I have it set to Latest but don’t see any other option on how to set this?
Also how does the column handle this if there were 200 posts? Is it possible to show a MORE button so you don’t have so many posts on the home page? I would think the LATEST label would be clickable and it would take you to a sub page showing more posts? Can you explain how this works?
I installed everything according to instructions. When you modify the homepage is not using Visual Composer adds features and blocks. please, give me an advice. thank you

I would like to display only the last 20 for exemple.
I saw there exist a function for this, but it affects all the categories. Is there a way to set this only for the homepage ?

@pfarelo first of all your site is set to display the latest article not a static page. If you want to change that go at Settings > Readings and chose a static page to be displayed as front page: http://screencast.com/t/VSDcbdz7tP If you want to change the post template for the blog page, that can be done from theme panel > template settings: http://screencast.com/t/4p9bgL2DAS

The design can be replicated but you need a bit of CSS coding to pull it off. You can set background colors to transparent from the theme panel to every element: http://screencast.com/t/Lzn2C640NX
Then you can create a blank page in visual composer and set it as a homepage. Then you need to identify the page id so you can modify just the one page http://screencast.com/t/Qq9WvQ3BgV4
Then you can start to create your css code like so:

This code will need adjustments but it is an example of how it can be done. If you cannot manage to build the css code on your own, you can hire a freelancer to do it for you as we cannot provide any custom work at the moment. We try to help set people on the right path.

I am trying to create a new homepage using visual composer.
Everything is fine except the template layout.
At the end of the homepage, a template with recent posts appear. There is also a non-customisable side bar.
How to modify this layout?

I have created a main header menu in english and a secondary menu with the language selection options as a top menu. The idea is to switch languages from the top menu and arrive at different home pages in the relevant languages.
It seems that this is not possible. I have created and tested it with 3 different menus in 3 different languages but I do not have the option to switch between them. Once a menu for the header slot is chosen it stays forever there in one language.
The question is, am I doing something wrong? It seems very limiting not to be able to have menus in different languages for each separate homepage.

Hi, on my homepage my first grid at the top is the “Big grid” which has the bigger picture on the left, and four little picture grids on the right. The four little picture grids on the right are blank and they are not filling in with pictures. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to fix it. It is working fine on all my category pages, but not on the homepage. I had someone set the theme layout up for me and they had some grid title tags that I did not want, so I edited some of this type of looking code off the front page on the backend editor, since that was the only way I found to get rid of the tag things I did not want there. Here is a snippet of the code that I altered [vc_row][vc_column][td_block_trending_now] In this example if I did not like the word “trending now” being above my grid block, I took the whole line of shortcode out. Not sure if this is why. But right now, I just want the top big grid to work properly with what I have on the homepage. Here is my site if someone can take a look http://www.viralbuzzme.com you will see all the category pages the top big grid is working the way it should by filling in all the picture grids, but only the homepage is not working that way. Please help!!

I’m using several types of Visual Composer-grids on my Newspaper-homepage for showcasing products and topics. Before displaying the actual picture/thumb, there is a grey-coloured area which irritates some users. It’s really annoying and it’s always happening – doesn’t matter if I have a large grid with 10+ thumbs or just one with two thumbs. Is there a chance to minimize or shut off these effects (which is probably due to loading times of the thumbs)?

2. Unfortunately the block title style 1 that you used in previous version doesn’t exist anymore in version 6 and you have to edit each homepage blocks(or your widgets) and change the background color – http://screencast.com/t/7qRvDzjc
Newspaper 6 is a whole new theme that is released for free for all of our existing customers so an update from 4 to 6 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible). We tried to find the best way for the transition(the script), but some issues may appear. We are very sorry for all the problems that the update caused.

I’m using Big grid 3 on my homepage.
In order to make the titles more readable over the photos, those are darkened. A bit too much in my opinion. Is it possible to change that? How?

Hello, I changed the header ad and clicked on SAVE SETTINGS. Now my main menü has become full width and non-aligned. This only happens on the homepage, the menu appears fine on other pages. What did go wrong and how can I undo it? Here is the link: http://kanalfinans.com/

1) Make sure you check all these options in the panel: http://screencast.com/t/n6nQwEkug and regenerate your thumbails using ‘force regenerate’ plugin. You can also use a thumbnail upscale plugin if your images are too small.
You can set the block to display the latest posts: http://screencast.com/t/uRGQJziZ and set a post limit of 20: http://screencast.com/t/cYMimmmkfu
2) You can create your page in visual composer without a sidebar and set the layout to a 2/3 + 1/3 and add your visual composer elements do the right side of the page: http://screencast.com/t/GkYeBHGUTk including an image element

Hi!
I’m trying to put some posts and events in my homepage. I filtered the Categories and Custom Post Types that I want to show on the Big Grid and blocks, but events does´t appear on it.
The details about what I want to show:
– Custom Posts from categories 74 (post category) and 1874 (event category). I put these categories in Multiple categories filter box).
– Post & events (events are taken from Events Manager plugin) from these categories. I put it in Post type box.
Can you give some help in order to do it?

I have just bought the theme, great theme, no doubt.
I would like to change the comment bubble style appearing on the default homepage to be same as it appears in a detailed post page, or to be same as it appears in the newsmag theme. Are they able to do so?

My site is a book review site and I have two questions:
Question #1 – I would like my first section of the Home page to show the latest picture book reviews. I tried
a. using an animated slider but the images came out too small–even when I set them to large. But once I set them to full, they were too big, so I couldn’t use that.
b. Using a Big Grid, but the images are always too large and too dark, so I can’t use that.
c. I inserted a Block and tried to filter with the category “Latest.” The problem is that the “latest” filters only go back for 7 days. But I haven’t published a new review in 10 days so nothing’s showing. How can I customize this block to display book reviews in descending order (from last review posted and backward).
Question #2 – How can I place an image on the Homepage sidebar? It’s probably very simple but I’ve been at this all day and I just can’t figure it out.
