I have installed the latest Newspaper theme and have been able to customise most aspects however I have encountered two issues; firstly when I try to access widgets from the WordPress dashboard Appearance/Widgets the widget page simply does not load.
Also in the dashboard Appearance/Customise menu when I click on this it takes me to a page with the following address
DOMAIN/ wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2Fuser-edit.php%3Fuser_id%3D6%26wp_http_referer%3D%252Fwp-admin%252Fusers.php
Any ideas?

Hello, my site is https://nulltx.com It has been acting slow for quite some time now and after adding the yoastseo plugin it was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
After doing some digging and installing Query Monitor, I was able to find out that td-composer generates over 500 queries per page!!! Most of the calls are update_meta_cache(), WP_Term_Query->get_terms(), and WP_Post::get_instance().
If anybody can help me figure out how to fix this I would really appreciate it.

Indeed adding more features will result in a few extra queries. There were lots of features added since version 7. There were 2 major updates with lots of new features in between newspaper 7 and newspaper 9
Performance is still a concern to us ad we will not sacrifice the theme performance for adding new features but we do have to improve the theme functionality also. You cannot ad new features without some performance loss. We are working on optimization though so performance will see an increase in future releases. We are constantly working on new features but on performance optimization as well.
Until then, you can try to improve your page loading speed by optimizing your install. Try these few guides that will improve your loading speed:

Hello, I have been using Newspaper 8 and just installed Newspaper 9 to try to learn using tagDiv Composer. But I’m not able to activate the plugin? I deleted it, reinstalled it and it just won’t activate. It’s version 1.o. and page just goes blank each time I try to activate. Any ideas?
My old Newspaper demo (to check of server was working) was using Theme version 7.2 with Cars demo content was doing 175 queries in 0,445 seconds. Just installed v9 and this is the result on the same demo was 248 queries in 0,923
Summary:
7.2 175 queries in 0,445
9.0 248 queries in 0,923
Both have the same wordpress (latest) and the same plugins (only essential). So for some reason the theme started doing 73 additional queries, which has double the time to first byte of the page. Since I am usually ‘forced’ to update at some point (security fixes) I would like to know: Is speed still a factor in future development or is adding new features more important than performance?
FYI: The demo is referring to a local ip as source
Context: Fresh newspaper installation, imported cars data, imported cars sliders
result: Mixed Content: The page at ‘x’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image ‘http://192.168.0.208/wp_011_test_demos/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/1.jpg’. This content should also be served over HTTPS.
To be clear: I am not hosting at 192.168.0.208, this was included somewhere in the demo data.

Having issues with my old theme relying on Jetpack to function which is causing my server to overload and stop working. Can I ask if the Newspaper 9 theme uses or relies on the Jetpack Plugin to function, or if it is included as a Plugin once I install the theme?

Ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results. Let’s try to solve the problems you are having.
Should be exactly the same basically, demo vs installed version. The images might be different only. I tried installing it myself, found no problem.
In your case there seems to be some design missing. The projects page also should look exactly like in the demo.
Did you by any chance edit the demo homepage or edited the projects page with WPBakery page builder? These pages are built with the tagDiv composer and only this should be used to edit them.

I have some problem after installing Newspaper Theme on my WordPress site.
My tagDiv Composer can’t load please check Image 1.
I installed every components/plugins required for this theme and also tried to stop other plugins, here is my system status, check Image 2.
Need help, because I would like to edit my pages and some component in the page can’t edit if I can’t have access into the tagDiv Composer.
