Hi,
and thanks for those nice words 🙂

1. I presume that you ask about on phone devices? If yes add this CSS in Theme panel -> Custom CSS section:

#td-top-mobile-toggle {
    position: absolute;
    top: 2px;
}
#td-top-search {
    position: absolute;
    right: 0px;
    top: 0px;
}
.mobile-logo-wrap img {
    left: auto;
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: auto;
    position: relative;
    right: auto;
}
.header-search-wrap .dropdown-menu:before {
    right: 15px;
}
.header-search-wrap .dropdown-menu {
    left: -280px;
    top: 46px;
}

2. Use this CSS

@media (max-width: 767px) {
  .td-full-layout .td-menu-background {
    background: #66af2a !important;
  }
}

Thanks!

Hello,

I have the same problem but in my case, I have also problems with an iPad in landscape mode. I have 9 items + 2 mini logos in my menu and I cannot reduce the items.

I would like to reduce the padding and font size between 768 to 1200 and use the mobile menu for widths below 768px. Could you please help me?

I have a production website and also a test website if you need it. Thank you and best regards!

+1 I was going to ask about this, a “style 7” for header, such as

[ top menu + socials ]
[ full width ad ]
[ full width logo ]
[ main menu ]

and a “style 8”
[ top menu + socials ]
[ full width logo ]
[ main menu ]
[ full width ad ]

An example of that could be found on one of our older sites, not YET moved over to Newspapers (hold up is me messing with solution for enlarging images for the featured images layout):

Hi TagDiv!

Once again, big thanks for your work with the great theme.
After using the theme since november Im looking forward to work and develop my web site for a long time with Newspaper theme.

And I have some wishes for new/more places and areas on the design for earn more money.

1 – An “Ad space” on aboslute top of the site, over the logo-area. I use the 1170 responsive design, and if I could put a 980 pix wide google ad in the top I (and other Newspaper license owners) could increase the Google Adsense income.
(I even had an idea that put 3 x 336 adsense banners in top, not fun for design people, but more income to the wallet is always nice)

2 – Have an extra “Ad area” in a full right column, both for Google Adsense and for others. If I use the 1170 pix design (and even more the 980) there will be a lot of unused areas on the screen. Why not put ads and earns some money. So, if there would be an option to put on a extra right column that you could fill with banners it would be great. of course it should disappear when the screen in smaller.

3 I have a third request, that is if there in the future could be an possibility to have a small small headline above the banner / ad saying “Ad” with option to local translation.

Many thanks.

Hi 🙂

I have just bought the template and I think is really great 🙂

1) Is it possible to have the logo in the middle and the search button to the right?

2) Is it possible to choose another background color for the mobile menu – I want to use white as background for the desktop menu and green for the mobile menu.

Hi,Use this CSS

.header-logo-wrap img {
    position: relative;
    top: -8px;
}

If you make the logo at 100px height should be aligned without that CSS.

Thanks!

Hi,
Some suggestion:

1. Header is to height and empty and all black, you can put anther color for the top menu: http://screencast.com/t/CKUcVSiT

2. On the social on top-right: use small icons 16px to fit the menu or remove the login feature from there is not on one line with social. Do you need people to register on your site?

3. I like the logo and the color but why your site is RED, there are no relation with the logo colors.

4. Change a bit the Typography, i like Droid font but is a little to large and on your site the line-height is to small for that size.

Hope this help!
Thanks for the message!

Hi guys,

How do I move the header ad space to the left (desktop view)? I want to keep the banner at this size (728×90) so it basically has to be (partly) on top of the fixed logo space on the left (300px width).

Here’s our page: http://www.habloandalu.es/

Thanks for your suggestions!

Best,
Stefan

hi

since doing the last update my header is lower than it should be, meaning that both the ad and the logo are too low down and not centered. I have tried adjusted the position but it doesn’t seem to work.

thanks

Here is another example of what another user did with the Newspaper Header Menu.

http://www.disqver.com/

Like Disqver.com, I would love to have my Header Menu show up to the Right of my Logo. And be at the same level as the logo too. I did try using the code you suggested to AJ on March 31st with no luck.

I appreciate your suggestions.
Thank yoU!

Hi, thank you for your fast response. But I was referring to the “Header” menu, not the Top menu.

In the example noted above, it would be the Header Menu with News, Features, Interviews, Previews & Reviews that is right of their Logo.

Thank you again!

It depends on the view port and the type of ad you’re serving (static vs responsive), and the width of your website (fixed/responsive, 1170, 980).

but typically

sidebar = 300×250 /300×600 (250×250 iPad vertical, or 200×200 for iPad landscape)
header = depends on fixed or responsive layout; 728×90 won’t fit with 300px wide logo on a 980 wide layout; but 300×100 does. Turn off for mobile/phone view.
before/after post = depends; 468×60 is often safe; 300×100 works.

Everybody may find the “official” IAB ad unit sizes to be helpful, found here:
http://www.iab.net/guidelines/508676/508767/displayguidelines

Technically 468×60 is considered OLD, but still supported due to legacy layout dimensions and because Google/Doubleclick not yet TRULY responsive. Their ad units should resize for the div/space they are in with max width, but don’t work that way.

Not sure that helps, but some info to get started 🙂

Hi, Radu A
I went back to the full width 1170 layout
as ran into issue with the 980 size layout, unboxed,
the Google AdSense 728×90 ad overlaps the logo vs having the logo area “responsive” to make the logo smaller – which makes sense since

300 logo | 728×90 ad
won’t fit in the 980 size.

I switched the theme back to 980 (8:48am PDT/PST 4/7 local time).

🙂

I will need to shrink the logo size manually for that spot (upload new logo).

In any case the issue only appears on

hi,
you cannot target all background if you are not in box template, because the theme is made from 3 sections, see here: http://screencast.com/t/kinWT9k1

you can use this css to target each section individually :

body  {
  background-color:blue !important;
}

div.td-header-bg {
 background-color:#00ff00 !important;
}

div.container.td-logo-rec-wrap {
   background-color:#ffffff !important;
}

div.td-menu-background.affix-top {
 background-color:red !important;
}

div.container.td-menu-wrap {
  background-color:#ffffff !important;
}

can you point me (a print screen will be great) where the that “Suport” word is?

Thanks for you message.

Hi, Martin
On one of our two sites, I did find it annoying that it covered up a box that said “featured items” … and thought about looking at the code to see how to change it to be “xx” from bottom. On other hand there are at least five news (BIG) sites I go to which have the same slider effect “in that spot,” and we used to have one done with DHTML on a custom theme which was an ad slider that would come out from left – but it was even more annoying.

So, after playing with it this week (I finally upgraded from 2x to 3x this past week, hence my showing up here again so often) I decided to just leave it. Since the “concept” is to “force” people to look at something to possibly click to another story, without leaving, if they scrolled past the “related” boxes, it does its job. I think if someone REALLY wants to see what is bottom right, then they’d close the box.

Actually, the other option I was pondering … was putting the logo and “about” box in col 3, so that only the footer logo gets covered.

Oh, and glad you’ve found some of my input useful. It’s my way of paying back for the 10 years of help I’ve gotten elsewhere by those “who came before” in trail breaking. Without the help of many others, I would not know all the semi-arcane things about WordPress I know now.

Now, if I can only figure out WHY my images are NOT enlarging in 3.6 to fit the large home slider left image or the featured category image. 20% size increase should happen, but not. (Sigh.)
