Hi,

Thank you for your appreciation of the theme, there are many more new features to come in future updates.

So you want to remove the mobile menu icon and search icon. If that is the case, then this could be done with some CSS. Try a code like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/WPADQpj9
This code can be entered in Theme panel->Custom code->Advanced CSS in the phones section

#td-top-mobile-toggle,
.header-search-wrap {
display: none!important;
}

If this is not what you wanted, some additional details would be helpful.

Thanks

Hello,

Sorry but the mobile menu will use the main menu, not the top menu. If you need separate menus for your mobile version, you can use the mobile theme plugin which offers a separate menu for mobiles.

Thank you!

Hello, I have several questions/bugs to solve. Better to ask everything at once. I’m using newspaper 8.7.3 with the demo nature.

1 – When I use an anchor in a post, it causes a shift of the whole page, as if a negative margin-top was applied to the body. The main menu is cut, and a blank space appears in the footer. See there : https://www.screencast.com/t/mZg5LxvxI

2 – I have a hover problem in the menu. Underlined are not at the same level, for the first element it’s slightly lower. See there : https://www.screencast.com/t/9i2cGzrw2X4Q

3 – Some parts of my text are blurry, when I make it strong. See there : https://www.screencast.com/t/TEcN1s3t with the typography ‘Raleway’.

4 – I would like to use the same presentation for the megamenu as the artcreek theme, what part of the css should i add ? I try to find it here but it is hardly readable.

5 – I have a wp_booster and fatal error on one of my post, on mobile exclusively. I use some content created with WP Bakery editor on this post, and it worked well before the update. Is it no more authorized to use WP Bakery editor on post at this time ? See there : https://www.screencast.com/t/OFl9p8IZILP and https://www.screencast.com/t/z0XoRkm5JW

6 – Impossible to increase the font-size of “Big title” above 55px or 54px using the multi-purpose admin theme panel. I have to do that with the tD composer.

Thank you in advance for the support !

I was wondering how to switch the default “header menu” to the “top menu” when on mobile (non-plugin). I see I can add the top menu via CSS to the current header in addition to the hamburger but I’d rather have the top menu in place when the hamburger icon is selected.

Hello fmm1982,

From the Theme panel -> https://www.screencast.com/t/MA6gGA4NF21y you can change the mobile menu background image.

Thanks.

Hi,

I cannot find how to change the background image of the mobile main menu.
Thanks

That is unusual, maybe it is not entered in the theme panel. I still see it in the page source here however
https://www.screencast.com/t/wCpe4vfP3r
If you cannot find it, I could give you a different code to cancel it on mobile

.sf-menu {
display: none;
}

Enter it in the Advanced CSS->phones section.

Hello mmedia6587,

Please understand that the main functionality of AMP plugin is to display the posts very quickly on the Google’s eye. Basically, when a client in on AMP version, he is not on your website (that’s why your visits were falling down more and more ) and the main goal is to redirect it to your own website. The AMP will have to be viewed as a preview of the posts pages of your website which are delivered by the Google AMP Cache. This is a proxy-based content delivery network for delivering all valid AMP documents. It fetches AMP HTML pages, caches them, and improves page performance automatically. For more information about this case and to better understand the operating system for this plug-in, please check the following useful manual from here -> https://www.searchenginejournal.com/difference-accelerated-mobile-pages-amp-mobile-friendly-pages/172967/
As a very good example, please check the official page of Seo Yoast and there you will see that they have not implemented the menu bar on AMP pages, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/OfzMGTLPQk
Also, please notice that AMP will work only for pages which were made with a simple text and not with some page builder elements.
For more references and for a better understanding of AMP functionality please read the plugin documentation!!!

Thanks for your understanding!

This is the code that does that – https://www.screencast.com/t/DbIS29ISUshv
The desktop menu should be hidden on mobile, but that code makes is visible
https://www.screencast.com/t/sbtlcpqO5Y
If you remove it or add it to the Advanced CSS, the default theme condition will apply.

Hi simion, thanks for the tip of pasting code in the advanced css section. I will do that from now on.

I removed all the code to check if the problem would be gone. But the text is still in the header in the mobile menu even though I removed the code?

how??

Hi,

That would be the default design for the big grids. There are many big grid designs to choose from. For example style 4 does not feature a dark gradient.
But if you want to use style 1 and remove the dark overlay, enter this code in Theme panel->Custom CSS

.td-grid-style-1.td-hover-1 .td-module-thumb a:last-child:before {
display: none;
}

It will remove the overlay for most grids once entered
https://www.screencast.com/t/qk23uiqFo

The mobile modal window in which the menu will be displayed, has settings in the theme panel
https://www.screencast.com/t/nn6YduNBf
You can set a background color or gradient for the modal window, so you can set a white background color and also color the text red.

Thanks

Hi,

First there is a padding that moves the mobile menu to the right
https://www.screencast.com/t/wnCGA1mfaQaP
Then there is also this code that makes the desktop menu visible on mobile
https://www.screencast.com/t/DuVvrwSvVR
If you created design for the desktop menu, use the Advanced CSS sections, enter it in the desktop section. That way it will not apply on mobile and break it. If you remove or move those codes it will display normally
https://www.screencast.com/t/Y6CAtPK2KmW

Thanks

The code will simply reduce the font size and also a little from the margin of the menu items, when the width is getting smaller, it may need modifications.
But it seems you also have additional code that applies to the header menu. On mobile it looks like this for me at the moment
https://www.screencast.com/t/VzQ336hvFa
Use CSS carefully, or it will break the design. Use the Advanced CSS sections to enter code to affect specific devices only. I don’t know exactly what you want to do with the header menu, how you want it to look.

Hello,

I don’t like how my images look dark on the following grids:

Big Grid Full 1
Big Grid Full 2
Big Grid Full 3

How can I remove the overlay (?), or whatever it is that is making the pics appear darker than they really are.

Also, on mobile, when I click the menu, there is a semi-transparent black box that covers the screen and my text is also black. How can I change this? Would prefer the box be white with red text

Thanks

Hi,

1. That is the page padding, similar to desktop but smaller
https://www.screencast.com/t/rgkmUFKzzT
It could be removed by entering this code in the theme panel advanced CSS section, in the phones and tablet fields
https://www.screencast.com/t/cca9VqHp7pPZ

.home .td-main-page-wrap {
padding-top: 0;
}

2. There is a setting for the mobile menu background color
https://www.screencast.com/t/mjju2gutkK

Thanks

I’m getting a black transparent banner over the mobile view of my website. When I go from vertical to horizontal though, the black banner disappears. Also if I go from horizontal to vertical, the banner is no longer there except when switching to another article.

I did notice though that when scrolling down, the logo disappears into the hamburger menu.

Anyone know what is happening here?

Hi,

I just recently changed my web design to this theme and I am experiencing the same issue.

When I open my website from laptop/desktop, there is a blue page that show for one second before disappearing/minimizing itself to the right of the screen. It seems that the blue page is from the mobile menu.

You can try to see the problem in my website: http://doktersehat.com try to open it using desktop/ laptop.

Do you have any solution/ code to hide that?

Thank you

Hello and Huge thanks for your reply.

I think I did not explain it well.
I do not want to change what is after you click the button.
I just want to make desktop login as it is for mobile, So I want to have 2 buttons for desktop login, first button will be sign in and the second button will be for Registration.

So, I have here Desktop login code:
From Newspaper>Parts>Header>Top-menu.php <<< from here
————————-
//show login widget
if (td_util::get_option(‘tds_login_sign_in_widget’) == ‘show’) {
//test if user is logd in or not
if ( is_user_logged_in() ) {
//get current logd in user data
global $current_user;

//<span class=”td-sp-ico-logout”></span>
echo ‘<ul class=”top-header-menu td_ul_logout”>
<li class=”menu-item”>’ .
get_avatar($current_user->ID, 20) . ‘ID) . ‘” class=”td_user_logd_in”>’ . $current_user->display_name . ‘‘ .

<li class=”menu-item”>
<i class=”td-icon-logout”></i>’ . __td(‘Logout’, TD_THEME_NAME) . ‘

‘;
} else {

echo ‘<ul class=”top-header-menu td_ul_login”><li class=”menu-item”>‘ . __td(‘Sign in / Join’, TD_THEME_NAME) . ‘<span class=”td-sp-ico-login td_sp_login_ico_style”></span>‘;
}
}//end login window
———————————

This is the Code. So i want to edit that code, so i will have 2 buttons for desktop as it is for mobile.
Mobile login code is here:
Newspaper>Parts>Login.php
This is the code:
————————————–
<?php
//get current logd in user data
global $current_user;
//check if admin allow registration
$users_can_register = get_option(‘users_can_register’);

//if admin permits registration
$users_can_register_tab = ”;

if ($users_can_register == 1) {
//add the Register tab to the modal window if Anyone can register chec
$users_can_register_tab = ‘ <span></span>‘ . __td(‘Join’, TD_THEME_NAME) . ‘‘;
}

echo ‘
<div class=”td-guest-wrap”>
<div class=”td-menu-avatar”><div class=”td-avatar-container”>’ . get_avatar($current_user->ID, 80) . ‘</div></div>
<div class=”td-menu-login”>‘ . __td(‘Sign in’, TD_THEME_NAME) . ‘‘ . $users_can_register_tab . ‘</div>
</div>
‘;

————————

If i just copy this code( second code, mobile login code) and paste instead of the first code, desktop login code, the theme does not work. So just copy/paste does not work. That’s where i want your help, to implement/edit mobile login code, so when i put into Newspaper>Parts>Header>Top-menu.php << here (this is where desktop login code is) will work, and i will have 2 buttons for both mobile and desktop view.

I hope, you will understand and sorry for bothering that much. Thank you.
