Hi
Sorry for this inconveniences!
Basically all plugins are made to work on a wp default theme but on a custom premium theme such as newspaper, which contains many customizations and specific implementation for its features, would be a chance to appear some issues with plugins functionality. The conflicts appear because plugins and themes are written in many different ways, depending by author, and one feature from a theme may conflict with some other feature from a plugin.
Regarding the images and jetpack, absolutely do not use the photon feature of jetpack. I know jetpack is tested to work with our theme but not all of it’s features work. The photon feature cause this issues because works on the same system as the theme: it create and use new images thumbs based on img element size. Jetpack has lots of features and some of these create problems with our theme. The 2 known to cause problems are the jetpack mobile theme and the photon option.
I did not recommend using photon at all. I recommended you use jetpack but NOT with the photon feature. It does not work with the theme and it will not work in future updates as well unless we change our whole image implementation.
The smart list feature it’s tested ans works fine without photon module activated: http://screencast.com/t/8b7DhIFIKC5LTry
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi
The theme uses thumbs and for mobile devices to display the featured image: http://screencast.com/t/CDiVjcOMmSPF However the css is different depending by module layout. In some situation the image it’s stretched by css to fit the entire thumb area and its quality may be affected. You could try a plugin like WP Retina 2x: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-retina-2x/ to improve the images quality on mobile devices, or if this doesn’t work as expected try a bigger size image and see how it works.
Thanks!
Salutare Bogdan,
This issue is a well known one to us. It is caused by the jetpack mobile theme. Please deactivate this option and your website should return to normal.
Thank you!
Salut,
I have a problem with the theme when I open it on mobile devices.
The problem is that the theme shows the code not the image.
You can check this at mobile friendly test

I wait for your advice,
Thanks,
Bogdan
Hello gunner05,
I’ve checked your website and I saw the problem with your logo on the mobile version. Please ensure that you have installed only the plugins that come bundled with our theme without others because this issue it might be caused by conflicting plugins. I suggest trying to use a normal ad, without AdSense and see if your problem is still there…it is possible that the problem come from Google Adsense. I have tested on my side and every ads seems to work as expected.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes after these afterward.
Thank you for the message!
hello i have just installed this theme on my server..
and it looks very very poor
how to fix it ?
How can I scale my Adsense ads to fit to the device screen? E.g.: I’m using the theme panel ad spots, responsive Adsense code and toggle on “auto”. But on all mobile devices, the ads shown are “320×250”. What I would like to have is: On Iphone 4/5 = 320×250, on IPhone 6 = 375x 300 on 6+ 414×300. Ok some sizes are not provided by Adsense, but sizes close to that.
Thanks!
Hello,
I tested the code from the other post again and it still works for the mobile version: http://screencast.com/t/nhgWl1Awc1
Please double check your code from the theme panel. If there is an open tag somewhere it could cause the code to not work. Also please clear your cache so the changes can apply. CLear it from the caching plugin and your browser cache as well: https://kb.iu.edu/d/ahic
Thank you!
Hi there,
It seems since updating to the latest Jan 7th Newspaper theme that the social buttons at the top of my website appear differently when the website displays without the www. The dropdown arrows also display as small boxes. I’ve set the preferred domain within webmaster tools so cannot understand why it would do this. There’s also an error on the mobile version where they cannot click one of the featured homepage images or that post title.
I’ve flushed the cache, reuploaded the latest Newspaper theme update with no success and have no new plugins activated.
Could this be the latest 4.4.1 WordPress update?
Would really appreciate a quick fix for this.
Thanks,
Mark
Hello,
I am using Newspaper theme v6.5 on my website. I have my website in multiple languges (English and Hindi)
URL – http://www.naukrinama.com & http://www.naukrinama.com/hi/
Now As the top bar is not visible on mobile devices, hence i am not able to give my mobile users an option to change their language. Hence i want to add an option is menu or just below the main menu bar in the header which is only visible on mobile devices and I am able to show two buttons over there with URL of my hindi and english site linked to it.
Screenshots : http://imgur.com/Dn8xFzB
Please let me know how can this be achieved.
Hi,
1. How can I reduce space between header and slider image: http://i66.tinypic.com/x3fgpu.png
2. On the tablets (Apple and Android both), the scrolling is not smooth, it scrolls with jerks. Works perfectly in mobiles.
3.How to replace theme commenting with FB commenting?
Thanks,
Sid
Hi
Try this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/mPfLNpyt360m
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-header-top-menu{
display: block !important;
}
Please note that the top bar wasn’t designed do be displayed on mobile devices so you may need additional customization in order to have it displayed fine.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!
Thank you Bogdan, I haven’t had any custom CSS added for line height, and I haven’t added any additional plugins since installing the theme, so I’d have to think it’s because of something else. Website: http://www.livingkura.com/
You can see it very clearly on the mobile version.
Hello guys, have a few questions about blocks:
1-How can I change the spacing/padding for Block 5? I understand I have to create a custom class in the block setting but what css do i put in theme panel? Will the block be effected sitewide or only the one I referenced with the id?
I want less spacing: https://box.everhelper.me/attachment/365600/khia2TJs8b3aazQepYb1AJRnEh0mqlOu/158366-adAEaZbxgnEkTahA/screen.png
2-How do i change the transition animation between tabs? I created 2 tabs using VC and loading 2 post grids (blocks). But i want it to FADE not fly in from the bottom when I switch tabs.
3- Sorry this has nothing to do with blocks, but how do i change the content inside the recommendation box that flies in after you scroll a post. I want to promote a facebook page instead of recommend posts.
4- I did not use the recommended logo size for homepage and mobile devices. I used a slightly bigger size image. Is that a problem or will it be ok?
Hello,
1) Unfortunately the plugin is not tested to work with our theme so we cannot assure it’s functionality. Not all plugins work with our theme but this is the case for all premium themes as they are custom made and plugin sometimes cannot recognize the code or conflict with it. Unfortunately we cannot offer support for plugin implementation.
2)Post style 4 does not show the caption of the featured image by default. It does show the caption for other images except the featured one. This is the default behavior of the theme.
The post style number does not match from newsmag to newspaper. This happens when switching to another theme. There is an alternative if you do not wish to change the post template manually that involves editing the database and resenting all posts to the default template and then you can simply add the template you want for all your posts from the theme panel/ Please follow this topic to see how it can be done: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/change-style-of-multiple-posts-at-once/
3)Mega-menus were not meant to display in the mobile version of the website.
4) Unfortunately the ‘go to top’ options was hidden on the mobile version. You can activate it with custom css if you want:
.td-scroll-up-visible {
display: block!important;
}
5)The speedbooster plugin has a function that checks for active plugins. There is a list of plugins speedbooster is compatible with – http://screencast.com/t/hcjLnOqh4i2 so if you have other plugins active it will be automatically disabled.
In order to use the tagdiv speedbooster with all plugins you will need to remove this code – http://screencast.com/t/RZLIOPUNdqh
I hope this helps
Thank you!
Note – the scroll top top does not work on certain mobile devices, such as iPad portrait … I noticed this on couple of sites we have, regardless of theme.
In theory, one solution is to edit the footer or wherever that [top] button is, and change it to something like this:
old a href=#ttop
a href="<?php get_permalink(); ?>" target="_top"
have not yet tried that …
Hi,
i changed from Newsmag to Newspaper and now we have some small problems.
1. We use the plugin from plista (https://wordpress.org/plugins/plista/) for some advertising.
Today we create a page for the main menu and it works on homepage correct. But if you open a article or page, the plista plugin show the RecommendationAds in the menu also. The Plugin Author said this is an error by the theme, because the code is twice in the page. Line 325 + 525.
How could we change this? We dont want the RecommendationAds in the menu.
See live at: http://sek-einsatz.de/
2. The post template Style 4 dont show the image caption.
And is there a way, to change the template style 5 from newsmag automatically to newspaper style 4?
Because we didnt define style 5 on newsmag as default, so we now have to change a lot post manual to style 4.
3. On mobile the created page in menu will not shown. Thats ok, but is it possible to create an special “normal” menu only for mobile?
4. On mobile the “go to top” Button will not be shown.
5. tagdiv SpeedBooster doesnt work: “Speed Booster – v4.2 – Disabled – incompatible plugin detected: Ultimate_VC_Addons/Ultimate_VC_Addons.php”
Thanks for your support.
Hello anujsri1,
If you want to just exclude the ads on mobile version, you should try to add only 1 div for all devices with this class -> td-all-devices and disable for mobile mode from Theme panel, like this: http://screencast.com/t/rPHJjNOo3jdy
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello joyceloh,
1) If you want to enlarge your logo size on your mobile mode, you should try a bit of CSS and add it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area, like this: http://screencast.com/t/Hu6ilCrf
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-retina-data {
width:200px;
height:70px;
}
.td-main-menu-logo img {
max-width: 200px;
max-height:70px
}
}
The result you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/poBxwQrKrHr
2)If you want to reduce the padding-bottom and the margin-bottom you should also use a bit of CSS, like this:
.td_block_big_grid_3 {
padding-bottom:25px;
}
.td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_2 > div {
margin-bottom:25px;
}
The result you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/5Xfuc2l0nBEp
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
If is not what you mean, please provide more details.

Is there anyway to add the Top Menu to the Mobile Menu other then just adding the CSS from this post to unhide it? Is there no way to add it to the menu-mobile.php??
Could it somehow be added to this:
<div class="td-mobile-content">
<?php
wp_nav_menu(array(
'theme_location' => 'header-menu',
'menu_class'=> '',
'fallback_cb' => 'td_wp_no_mobile_menu'
));
The Header Menu is there, could you just somehow add ‘td-demo-top-menu’ to that same “theme location”? I tried adding it next to ‘header-menu’ but that just broke the site. Adding the CSS the link above works, but it doesn’t look very good. I would rather not go that route if I didn’t have to.
Hello !
I could do the changes on php.ini but the problem is still on the website & on the header i got :
“; var td_ad_background_click_target=””; var td_ajax_url=”http://dooweet.org/fr/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php”; var td_get_template_directory_uri=”http://dooweet.org/fr/wp-content/themes/Newspaper”; var tds_snap_menu=””; var tds_header_style=””; var tds_mobile_swipe=””; var td_search_url=”http://dooweet.org/fr/search/”; var td_please_wait=”Please wait…”; var td_email_user_pass_incorrect=”User or password incorrect!”; var td_email_user_incorrect=”Email or username incorrect!”; var td_email_incorrect=”Email incorrect!”; var tds_more_articles_on_post_enable=””; var tds_more_articles_on_post_time_to_wait=””; var tds_more_articles_on_post_pages_distance_from_top=”0″; var tds_theme_color_site_wide=”#e51a1f”;
Do you have any idea how to solve it ? Thanks a lot for your help, and happy new year 🙂
Hi,
Do you have this issue on mobile(I guess)?
Please switch to the main theme and see if you still have this issue. If the issue disappear please make a backup of your current child theme files and update it to the version provided with the theme files as from version 6.3 we have changed the system. You can find it in /code folder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have an option to block an image on mobile devices, you can use custom css to hide it but it will still be loaded in the source just that it will not be visible.
The theme used the same thumbnails on blocks/modules even it is desktop or mobile(it is used just css to customize them on different devices) to not create so many thumbs for each device.
Thanks!
Hi,
The theme is responsive as it is fluid and style for desktop/tables/mobile screens unfortunately it doesn’t have any settings to disable background image on mobile(you can only hide it via custom css) and this option is from Visual Composer(background to the row/column).
For css you can differentiate phones an tablets using media queries – https://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/media-queries-for-standard-devices/
For php you could use this function – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_is_mobile
Thanks!
Hello colgate,
If you want to disable all the sidebars in mobile and tablet mode, you need a bit of CSS to hide this option. Plase try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area, like this: http://screencast.com/t/5iPUuNZoso3l
@media (max-width:1018px){
.td-ss-main-sidebar {
display:none;
}
.td-pb-span8.td-main-content {
width: 100%;
}
}
The above code is only for posts. If you want to hide them for pages, it is not a simple task because it is not easy to target the sidebar class and it depending on how you set the sidebars for pages. As a method to add the sidebar for pages would be with Visual Composer and with Wigetsized element, like this: http://screencast.com/t/dXPluCP9xJy and you can try the code below:
@media (max-width:1018px){
.wpb_widgetised_column {
display:none;
}
.td-pb-span8 {
width: 100%;
}
}
The result you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/tYMlNthWcx
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
