Hi,
I would like to make three changes to the mobile menu, once displayed.
First, the background, by default is a gradient from black to blue, I will need to be from white to green. Second, how can I specify that the displayed mobile menu would be about 50% of the screen (wide), not 100%.
And last, is it possible to add an horizontal line to separate the categories?
Thanks
Are you using responsive ads?
If you’re using custom ads, you need to put in smaller image sizes for mobile devices or wrap the div in responsive css and/or the image with a 100% width plug max-width class.
Hi

I have been experimenting with different loop.php, single.php, mobile/single.php but not able to get the RevContent Ads above the Related posts in Mobile theme. Can you please mention the file & changes I should make to get the Ads?
I have successfully added the Ads in Desktop UI. Here’s the Ad Code
<div id="rcjsload_591893"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
(function() {
var referer="";try{if(referer=document.referrer,"undefined"==typeof referer)throw"undefined"}catch(exception){referer=document.location.href,(""==referer||"undefined"==typeof referer)&&(referer=document.URL)}referer=referer.substr(0,700);
var rcel = document.createElement("script");
rcel.id = 'rc_' + Math.floor(Math.random() * 1000);
rcel.type = 'text/javascript';
rcel.src = "https://trends.revcontent.com/serve.js.php?w=46290&t="+rcel.id+"&c="+(new Date()).getTime()+"&width="+(window.outerWidth || document.documentElement.clientWidth)+"&referer="+referer;
rcel.async = true;
var rcds = document.getElementById("rcjsload_591893"); rcds.appendChild(rcel);
})();
</script>
Hi there Newspaper team! 🙂
I have a question concerning thumbnail sizes. The post content width is 696px in Newspaper. However, you only get to choose between image widths 640px and Full Size when adding a media.
Bogdan, you wrote in the forum topic https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/large-image-size-not-reflecting-media-settings/ that the 696px thumb is displayed automatically:
“Add the full width image to your post and the theme will use a thumbnail of 696 pixels which is the max content. It will not add the full image size.”
It doesn’t seem to be true. If you select Full Size when adding a picture, a full size picture will be displayed. Though there seems to be a 696px thumbnail, the post does not use is. Please see the following page i created on my site in order to explain:
http://www.parismalanders.com/test-image-size/
I checked this site from your Showcase to see if my problem was isolated, but it seems there is the same issue:
http://www.gloholiday.com/moving-new-home-sun/
This is I think a very important issue, especially concerning page speed.
Let’s say you upload four amazing pictures 1600*1400 (each 2MB) and insert them into a post in full size. The user will then have to load 8MB to see the four images, instead of the much smaller 696px thumbs. The problems is of course even more important for people using a mobile.
I am struggling with this problem since I use newspaper. I am forced to compress my pictures a lot, in order to obtain reasonable file sizes with bigger pictures (I use 1024 or 1280), which diminishes a lot the quality of the picture.
I’d be happy to hear your thoughts about that! Am I doing something wrong or is there really an issue here?
Best, Roman
Hi,
When I press the toggle menu it does nothing, just adds a # at the end of the url.
I installed the Mobile Theme plugin to test it, and the toggle menu works well with it, but since I don’t like the mobile layout, I had to uninstall it, and I can’t figure it out where is the problem.
Is it possible to have the Mobile Theme plugin installed while keeping the desktop layout for the mobiles?
Can you take a look to my site: http://meganotas.com
Thanks
Hi,
When using the mobile theme, there is no option at the moment, to change the font properties.
You could try to load the font like this first
– https://www.screencast.com/t/zWl8UTeN6
And then apply with with CSS for the elements you want
– https://www.screencast.com/t/fWtTDPk7PZj
There may be more options added in future updates, to allow font customization on mobile, when using the mobile theme plugin. But I could not say for sure when this will happen.
Thanks
Having the top menu display on mobile when tapping the 3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner on mobile to show the main menu on mobile would totally work.
How can i do that? It’s viteea.com
I want the top bar from the desktop version top be displayed where i just mentioned above.
Actualy that was question for @pedropapito
Fact that you have no experience and support about dfp in your theme sounds for me like you never used mobile phone in 2017….
It’s not so big deal and you should have solution for it ASAP, now, for us users some things with code must be done manually, and when you update theme all goes to hell…

I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using a lot of Ads which are not supported by our theme and also, use a lot of untested plugins which a break the theme layout, sorry! In the bottom of your article pages, on mobile, you have some problems with your ad which does not come from our theme, sorry! As a quick fix, you can try using the code below and place it in Theme Panel -> Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
@media (max-width:767px){
.pc_block_inactive{
float:inherit!important;
}
}
The result -> https://www.screencast.com/t/L0dEZ9LT
Also, I saw that you are using the Google Adsense Link Units -> https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/15817?hl=en. Notice that our theme does not recognize these parameters, and if you want to achieve that format of Ads, you can try to use the AdRotate plugin. The theme only works using the Google Adsense ad codes: https://forum.tagdiv.com/ads/ … for another type of ads you can either use wp text widget or a plugin like Simple Ads Manager or AdRotate to render the code then use theme’s ad spots. There is no official tested ad plugins as we have our ad system. Adrotate works with our theme even though it’s not tested by us but by our users. It seems that your Google Units Ad cause some problems in the mobile version because it has a width fix.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
On mobile the same menu from desktop will display, unless the mobile theme is active. The top menu could be made to display on mobile. If you could provide a link to your website, I will try to give you a solution.
Thanks
Hi,
I installed the mobile theme plugin. I want to change all the fonts to the google font “Asap”, what should I do?
Thanks,
Tina
Is there a way to show a different main menu when it’s viewed on a mobile phone without using the mobile theme plugin?
I need to be either able to show the top bar on mobile without the mobile theme plugin, or show a different main menu on the mobile version.
I had to disable the mobile theme plugin since you said it doesn’t work with shortcodes. I’m using a membership plugin that uses shortcodes which won’t show using the mobile theme plugin.

Hello ponlork,
I’m not sure why this happens on your end. It could be the wp super cache plugin:
Please use this guide to properly set wp super cache: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also, the wp super cache has a flaw in it;s code that should be corrected.
https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache/pull/185/files
Edit wp-cache-phase1.php and add the green code from the right column as it shows in the provided link.
Let us know if you still have trouble with wp super cache.
You can try to disable the mobile theme plugin if you use it and test to see if you still have this issue.
Thank you!
Hello
On this post https://www.healthable.org/unknown-health-benefits-uses-snow-mountain-garlic/ you can send the sponsor widget on top the subscription widget when viewed on mobile http://m.imgur.com/7OpBylC
Also shouldn’t there be space between widgets? http://m.imgur.com/4ZVMat6
Hi,
When using the mobile theme there is the top grid which displays featured posts. The next predefined section is the latest articles. If you want to make modifications to this section you can find it here

Hello iamkingsleyf,
I have inspected it closer your website and I did not saw any problems with it. Everything seems to work as expected on the mobile version. Provide more details if the problem reappears on your side.
Thanks.

Hello,
If I want to make my logo smaller, do I simply post a logo smaller than the theme recommends, or is there a place where you can just adjust the size?
-Here is my current look: http://www.edustenia.com/
-Here is my desired look: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_what/
Note: This would only be for desktop, as my mobile version is already good to go as is.
Thanks! 🙂
Eduardo
What is the best and easiest way to do this?
Right now, in the demo below:
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_recipes/
The mobile menu has the social icons displayed up top (evernote, facebook, google+, etc)
We would like to instead replace all those social icons with 2 or 3 plain text links (about/help/subscribe)
Thanks in advance!
Bogdan has helped me wonderfully to hide the widgets and make the website look better on mobile devices. Thank you!
Hi Guys,
I recently asked how to filter the articles that appear under the (Related Posts) section in articles via code.
Today I would like to know if it is possible to show the (Featured Posts) category in the TagDiv Mobile Theme instead of simply showing my latest articles.
I know this is impossible via the theme panel, so I would ideally like to know where the code is located in the td-mobile-plugin.
Thanks.
