I ran my site through Google webmasters mobile friendly test this morning, and it passed, but with a warning
“This page uses one resource which is blocked by robots.txt. The results and screenshot may be incorrect.
For optimal rendering and indexing, always allow Googlebot access to the JavaScript, CSS, and image files used by your website so that Googlebot can see your site like an average user. If your site’s robots.txt file disallows crawling of these assets, it directly harms how well our algorithms render and index your content. This can result in suboptimal rankings.”
But according to this page http://pippamattinson.com/robots.txt
The only thing disallowed in my robot.txt page is wp-admin. Should I ignore the warning message?
Thanks
Pippa
I’m not a huge fan of the fact users need to click on the search icon to then search. Is there any way of converting this to an actual search box that appears in the menu bar and coverts to an icon if screen size is tablet or mobile?
@modernmavens I didn’t do anything special other than just sticking to the previous version. I’m looking forward to update to V6 but I decided to wait a bit over the usual updates and corrections since I’m a newbie so my ability to fix significant mistakes would be nonexistent (I don’t even know how to set up a testing clone so when i update i update live, which is… “radical” :)).
Anyway have you tested the V6 demo on mobile to check if it shows the same problems as you are finding? If not maybe you done something wrong. In my case i didn’t touch anything, i’m just using the big slider with no CSS mods, i used to have some but i dropped them when i updated to the Newspaper version I’m using.
cheers,
Good show fails if the right-hand side bar will be displayed on mobile well, so a ccs code, what I did was not the sidebar appear in mobile phones.
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.single .td-main-sidebar {
display: none !important;
}
}
Hi,
Digi please provide a link to your site also I can inspect this as in the case you’ve mentioned the sidebar should fall under posts’s content on mobile screes.
Thanks
Hi,
You have to modify the code like this – http://screencast.com/t/KcWYIOpLqC – http://screencast.com/t/vZSYFRSDsc – http://screencast.com/t/4MOceYSdw
And create a new menu for the mobile menu – http://screencast.com/t/7tYZjOENsff
Thank you!
Hi Alin,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The problem is occurring on a Mac Desktop, only on Safari.
I didn’t encounter the issue on mobile.
You can see the stretched ad here:
http://www.screencast.com/t/S4DkNZPS
I’m using Newspaper version 444.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hi,
I have checked your site and did not found any issues with ads. Do you have this issue on mobile devices? Please provide more details about the device that you used and also the version of the theme. Also note that adsense are not responsive on the fly, you have to refresh the window in order to get the right size ads for current screen width.
If you refer to Safari version for Windows, it was abandoned in 2012 and does not support the latest web tech.
Thanks!

Hi,
@modernmavens I saw your question from this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/newspapertagdiv-powered-websites-showcase/#post-56279
You can use Big Grid Slider to look the same like in old version of the theme on mobile devices please check this thread as reference – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/homepage-issue-with-big-grid-3-style-1/#post-55259
Thanks!
Hi, today i tested jetpack cause i want to optimize the mobile site speed. so i activated the jetpack mobile theme and tried.
But now there is no way to get back to the newsmag mobile theme, i am beginner and dont know what to do.
I just delete the plugin and now the mobile site looks bad: http://www.bonngusto.net
What do i have to do to get back to your mobile theme?
thanks a lot, best regards, Marko
@Pedro I notice that your Big Slide fits nicely on mobile, just like Newspaper 4. Newspaper 6 doesn’t fit as such. How did you do that?
If I put the bar (Sidebar) on the right side, right in the sight of mobile devices, the sidebar is loaded between the title and content, as Fix it
Thanks. Will use this.
Any word on my other thread and the mobile version of Newspaper 6.1 on my site? It’s messed up. Here’s the thread – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/bad-mobile-version/
i want a mobile menu like this
https://0.s3.envato.com/files/96461977/touchy-preview_01_1-3.jpg
i don’t want the menu coming out from the left on mobiles devices. how do i deactive the menu from the theme only for mobile devices, and use a custom like this,
Hi,
Unfortunately we did not tested this plugin with the theme as Newspaper is fluid and styled also for mobile screens. You may need custom work to implement this plugin for mobile menu to work fine with the theme. Not sure what you want to change for mobile menu, please provide more details.
The icons for menu items were removed for this version, but the theme supports Font Awesome 4 Menus just install the plugin then take the icon code – http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/ and paste it in Navigation Label – http://screencast.com/t/TKqYz6oH5 – http://screencast.com/t/oR2LdrWz
Thanks!
I apologize for not including screenshots before. Here are two… one from Chrome and the other from Safari… both on iPhone 5S.
Chrome – http://www.screencast.com/t/TLqjCM9Oos
Safari – http://www.screencast.com/t/mfZOFh7Yxvh
It seems this issue affected @modernmavens as well – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-site-2/
I also tried the demo sites for the theme and these appear OK on both browsers on my iPhone.
I hope the info I’ve provided is sufficient.
Has anyone from tagDiv gotten a chance to look at my site on mobile yet?
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,
The mobile version of my site is “messed up”.
Do you know why it’s that way? It was fine with version 4. But with the new version 6, my site on mobile is almost un-navigable.
I need a quick fix/answer/resolution to this please.
Thanks
Yuri
Hi.
How can I enable ‘always sticky’ for desktop only.
I don’t want the mobile header to be sticky?
Thank you.
One more thing…
Despite disabling the header ad on mobile it’s still showing up: http://take.ms/S1g3I and http://take.ms/6tCRb
Hi there,
There’s a few adjustments I’d like to make to the theme:
1. I’m not using the default share buttons so would like to remove the space seen here: http://take.ms/UxtMC (Please note I would like to do this on all templates)
2. I would also like to remove the space between comments and author box: http://take.ms/KpCGU
(Please note I would like to do this on all templates)
3. I would like to remove the author box on MOBILE ONLY.
That’s it for now at least. I would appreciate a little help implementing these changes.
Thanks in advance,
Mark
Hi,
I am using Amazon Banner Ads for desktop and google ads for table and mobile. When I use the google adsense code, it overwrites my amazon banner.
I have the three tags that are used in the header ad template. I need my Amazon Ad to display only on desktop and my google adsense ad to only be displayed on mobile and tablet. How can this be fixed?
This is what I am currently using.
<div class=”td-visible-desktop”>
<div class=”alignleft”>
<script type=’text/javascript’>
amzn_assoc_ad_type = ‘banner’;
amzn_assoc_tracking_id = ‘xxxxxx’;
amzn_assoc_marketplace = ‘amazon’;
amzn_assoc_region = ‘US’;
amzn_assoc_placement = ‘assoc_banner_placement_default’;
amzn_assoc_linkid = ‘xxxxxxxxx’;
amzn_assoc_campaigns = ‘amazonhomepage’;
amzn_assoc_p = ’48’;
amzn_assoc_banner_type = ‘rotating’;
amzn_assoc_width = ‘728’;
amzn_assoc_height = ’90’;
</script>
<script src=’//z-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&Operation=GetScript&ID=OneJS&WS=1′></script>
</div>
</div>
<div class=”td-visible-tablet-portrait”>
<script async src=”//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
<!– NewsWatch33 –>
<ins class=”adsbygoogle”
style=”display:block”
data-ad-client=”ca-pub-xxxxxxxx”
data-ad-slot=”xxxxxxxx”
data-ad-format=”auto”></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>
</div>
<div class=”td-visible-phone”>
<script async src=”//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>
<!– NewsWatch33 –>
<ins class=”adsbygoogle”
style=”display:block”
data-ad-client=”ca-pub-xxxxxxxxx”
data-ad-slot=”xxxxxx”
data-ad-format=”auto”></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>
</div>
Hi,
This is on our list and it will be added an option in Theme Panel in a future update please check this css solution – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-change-mobile-header-color/#post-54699
