Would it work for us to regenerate the thumbnails on a staging site and then move them to live once the images are done?
So this is my thought – Install the theme on a staging site, regen 80,000 images, transfer images to live server, then I can install the theme and every thing will work perfectly.
Is there anything that would keep this from working with the theme??
I’ve having issues with the thumbnails for block resizing to the right size. They are being cutoff. I’ve tried using thumbnail regenerate plugin. Is there something else I can try?

It possible to have a plugin that redirect you on the first page every time you want to navigate to another, so you can try deactivate all except Visual Composer clear the cache and test again also you can try to regenerate your htaccses like so http://screencast.com/t/rQkmLsLNlpz3

Hi, i have a problem with thumbnails in demo page (installed from Newspaper->install demos panel) but problem is specific, occurs ONLY on my local enviroment if i installed theme on free php hostring everythings is OK.
But if i installed on my coumputer same version of wordpress, next newspaper theme and any demos from demo panel, some thumbnails are wong displayed. Any suggestions?
Is this problem may be associated with php version? my local envimoment is:
Ubuntu 14.04
PHP 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.11 (cli)

In bouth cases i’m just install:
1. wordpress 4.2.2
2. Newspaper theme
3. Required plugins
4. Demos
Works for me. Great support from TagDiv for 2 years now for my needs.
They are closed weekends, but will be back Monday.
Perhaps try reviewing the install and setup documentation at right.
Do common sense things like turning off caches, clearing them, reset CDN, turn off all plugins prior to install, then only activate Visual Composer, then the theme. Regenerate thumbnails per the documentation, etc.

Turn off thumbnails from theme panel and use force regenerate images plugin!
Resized images don’t appear in library, only original images. WP also is unable to “enlarge and crop” images. You need to add the “thumbnail upscale” plugin, THEN regenerate thumbs 🙂

Not sure why you have this issue, normally using Upscale thumbnail and Force regenerate should fix your issue if your featured images are smaller as like you know WordPress doesn’t enlarge images.

Please note that there’s no ideal image size, the modules have thumbs with different aspect ratios and a part of the image may get lost on the cropping process. I have a problem after I update the Newspaper to Newspaper 6.
Before, the thumbnail were centre. Now, they are on the top.
You can see the difference with this picture. On the left is before, on the right is now

The theme uses featured images to display posts on pages, it generates thumbs from those images to keep the page size as low as possible. Please regenerate your thumbs https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/ the image should be displayed fine after that.

Please regenerate your thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ and please note that if you use smaller featured images than the size of the thumb on a module it cannot be cropped, as WordPress doesn’t enlarge images and you will need to use plugin like Thumbnail Upscale to enlarge thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ For upscale use a combination of plugins Thumbnail Upscale + Force Regenerate.

I have read through all the articles explaining what I’m supposed to be doing with my site. I have refreshed Cloudflare and have regenerated my thumbnails. None of my post images will appear. I know that they are on the site because if you click on the white spot it loads an external page with the media file. Can someone please help me find out how to get my images to appear?

2. The Speed Booster plugin is compatible only with plugins that it has been tested. A lot of people install the plugin without knowing what it does and after that they add many plugins and some of the plugins are not written fine so that’s the developer took this decision. Please provide your site URL so we can take a look. Also please make sure that no files from version 4 of the theme remain after update like it is specified in the docs(this depends how did you updated FTP,wordpress..) and check if you updated also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder and check the version – http://screencast.com/t/nn2stdsARkr
If you follow all these steps from “how to update 4-6” guide and run the script check your page only with Visual Composer active an also clear cache. You need also to regenerate the thumbnails after update – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/
Please note that in version 6 any customization(to the theme files, custom css) from old version will not work and you will have to re-add them. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings, will change the shortcodes. Unfortunately you will have to re-add your widgets in the sidebars as some of them may not be imported or don’t exist anymore, also they will become inactive.

Not sure how the plugins conflict with WordPress’s imagecopyresampled function but if you’ve regenerated thumbs and solved the thumbnails issues then you can disable thumbnails regenerating plugin because you don’t need it anymore as the thumbs will be automatically created when you upload an image.
The thumbnail upscale plugin is also unnecessary if you upload images large enough to fill the largest thumb container you’re using so I suggest you consider this and not use those plugins.

I have added two plug ins Thumbnail Upscale and Thumnail Regenerate which solves the Thumbnail issue but now it has caused an issue with uploading images. Each time I upload images I get a stack of error messages. If I deactivate the plugins the issue disappears but I am left with incorrect Thumbnails. Has anyone else experienced this? Example of errors below

I’m using the latest version of Newspaper 4 and the latest version of Visual Composer included with that build to create a page with Big Slider using Homepage – blank template, no parent . My Big slider is not showing any images/posts even though all of my posts use featured images. I followed all of your instructions:
1. Made sure my images are large enough
2. Regenerated thumbnails
3. Cleared cache
4. No CDN plugin
5. Posts are in “Featured” category

Yes, I did – still nothing. Cleared cache – same result. And I also have many images embedded from imgur, flickr, etc – I cannot regenerate those images, they are not on my site. And they are not displayed as well. Is there something new for images?
