So I’ve been using the theme for a while now and after upgrading to V6 (Luckily on a test subdomain at this point) I see all the posts in the secondary language are missing and strange errors appearing.
It could be a problem following the update script or something in the source code that is different from V4 – I am not sure.
The test site is on this link: http://test.virtualida.com/
(Also not sure what’s wrong with the images – I ran the “regenerate images” using the plugin “Regenerate Thumbnails” v2.2.4 By Viper007Bond)
Hi,
Try to order by date and change to take post from 1 month ago instead of 1 week – http://screencast.com/t/0HndGpSA – http://pastebin.com/y4B1QqW1 If you need more customizations please check – https://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query#Date_Parameters if you don’t have basic php experience I suggest to get someone to help you as we cannot provide custom work at this time, sorry!
Please regenerate your thumbnails using – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ and then purge your files if you use CDN.
Please check our demo (Features menu item) – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ to see theme’s blocks/modules/grid…
Thanks!
Hi
You can chose a thumb size you have set for images in WordPress: http://screencast.com/t/jRITRiA7S or chose one that theme creates: http://screencast.com/t/6aYKkDLYqK but note that you need to regenerate thumbnails if you upload those image before activation the theme. Use this guide to regenerate thumbs then set one of WordPress thumbs and check the result. You can also set your own dimensions fro images here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/http://screencast.com/t/Rk4JNctx2 add the one you need and regenerate thumbnails afterwards.
Thanks!
Hi
Try to regenerate thumbs to be displayed well. You can find details here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/
Let me know how it goes and also empty the cache.
Thanks!
I do realise that your theme is complex and very well executed, that you concentrate on only two themes and on only one niche, and that you give great an speedy support. I very much respect that approach, so please don’t get me wrong if I say this:
I have extensive experience on a “power user” level with dozens of commercial themes and a number of hand made themes. I am the admin of at least 5 WP-based websites actually online in parallel.
And I have never come across a theme that handles images the way that yours does. Again, I don’t mean to complain, I merely need to understand what’s happening so that I can act accordingly.
First question
I have now installed the Upscale Thumbnails plugin and (force) regenerated thumbnails. The result is, that all images included in one of your modules/blocks, i.e. in some kind of post list or slider, are displayed correctly > great! Thank you!
But one problem remains, the images on post single have not changed.
Why?
Second question
How can I manually adjust the position of where a crop is set? This is usually done with the plugin Post Thumbnail Editor. With “crop” I mean this: Assume that the image is large enough for the largest possible media size – no Upscale Thumb is needed > i.e. ideal circumstances.
The important content in this large image is only very small and in bottom right hand corner. For the very small square thumbnails td_80x60 size I want to focus on only this small area. How can I achieve that?
Thanks for these.
– is that it is possible to filter the articles on a block so that it displays the popular posts by month or/and year (example: June or 2015); can you add rows on these cases >> http://screencast.com/t/eXJ2CaQe and put condition?
– How can it regenerates the thumbnails for the photos to fill the different frameworks on the sliders?
– is that there is a demo page to see the different features of the theme in v6.2? (format for each type of frame / slide / different shortcode / and all other features)
Hi,
1. Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your site url if you don’t want to paste it here, also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are and what your issue is.
2. We did not tested this plugin with the theme so I cannot make any suggestions regarding this, like I said above in td_config.php you can find all thumbnail size, also please note that there’s no ideal image size, the modules have thumbs with different aspect ratios and a part of the image may get lost on the cropping process. You could read more about the featured image size here (it’s from Newsmag documentation but the principles are the same) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/image-size/
3. What do you mean cannot be cropped? If you use smaller featured images than the size of the thumb on a module it cannot be cropped, also WordPress doesn’t enlarge images and you will need to use plugin like Thumbnail Upscale to enlarge thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ For upscale use a combination of plugins Thumbnail Upscale + Force Regenerate.
Thanks!

Thank you for those explanations
I have now very carefully Force Regenerated all images and I still have quite a lot of images that do not resize correctly. Even if I manually correct those crops with Post Thumbnail Editor they still do not show-up correctly.
Is there a way to send you my URL privately for you to have a look?
2nd Question
This may not be a question for you!? In Post Thumbnail Editor, for many themes there are the identical aspect ratios of images clustered. This makes it much, much faster to edit the crop in one go. Is this a feature of the 3red party plugin or does that depend on some media setting in your theme?
3rd Question
If some of the images cannot be cropped, may that have something to do with the 0ps image size? What can I do if an image size that has a 0ps setting does not crop to the correct size?
Kind regards

I have recently update newspaper to newspaper 6, all images and photos, featured images are not showing even though there is images and photos. I have used regenerate thumbnail plugi and done successfully. Pliz check the link: http://www.onefilmy.com/news/bollywood-news/fans-paint-graffiti-on-walls-of-mannat-leaves-shah-rukh-khan-shocked.html
Hi,
I already regenerated all thumbnails after upgrading the row stretch of the block you can see in the image – http://i58.tinypic.com/2ljn5og.jpg – (from Default to Stretch row and content (no paddings)), but the thumbnails remain the same.
Is there anyway to fix this?
Hi,
If your featured image is smaller, please note that WordPress doesn’t enlarge images and you will need to use plugin like Thumbnail Upscale to enlarge thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ For upscale use a combination of plugins Thumbnail Upscale + Force Regenerate.
As you can see where you use images big enough to be cropped for module that you use, they are displayed fine(the thumb is created) – http://screencast.com/t/UE8fZveU – http://screencast.com/t/AEaV0BtIQI
But where you use a smaller image – http://screencast.com/t/TCucZmQSxwwx this is not enlarged(this can be only cropped) on modules so it is used at full size – http://screencast.com/t/evY8jlwQex
Thanks!
Hi,
You can find thumbnail size in td_config.php file if you want to change this – http://screencast.com/t/3gdOivk1 and if you change/add a size please regenerate your thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ Also there is an option to enable/disable thumbnail image on modules/blocks in Theme Panel – http://screencast.com/t/oWYPjpspz
You can find out more here about width/height = 0 on crop – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size#Parameters
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the helpful support. I’ll study the links and support material, re-evaluate my graphics strategy, disable the thumbnail sizes I don’t use, and regenerate the thumbs once I’m all set.
Awesome theme, and terrific support. Thanks again.
We’ve recently switched between typekit bundles and NewsMag refuses to update the buffered javascript.
Looking at page source it continues to refer to the old kit, despite the new kit showing in the theme panel under typekit settings.
Checking MySQL I can see that the option for the new kit is correctly referenced in the database, but td_fonts_js_buffer refers to the old async typekit code.
Is there a known issue in replacing typekit scripts? If not, how can we force the buffer to be regenerated? As it’s stored in a block of serialised data and I don’t have direct MySQL access (only PHPMyAdmin) I can’t easily edit this field, MySQL is notoriously unreliable when it comes to Longtext and the characters used to store the data.
Hi deanramsden,
You can find more details on how to do it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ then make sure you empty caches and purge files if you use cdn host.
Also note that each image is cropped when you upload it so you just need to regenerate thumbs for your old images. If you don’t need all image sizes you can disable them from theme panel for those you don’t use: http://screencast.com/t/CNubMTv0u
Thanks
yea. i have already regenerate all my images using thumbnail regenerate plugin. but nothing change so i make the post here
Hi,
You need to regenerate your images thumbnails like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ then make sure you empty caches and purge files if you use cdn host.
Thanks
Hi,
1. Here you can see all thumbnails sizes that are used on modules/featured images – http://screencast.com/t/jsnReCqmbKTb if you want to change or add thumbnail size you will have to edit – http://screencast.com/t/8MITol7p and the thumb is used on each module – http://screencast.com/t/Z8LXUOclzo If you do any changes please regenerate your thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/
2. You will need custom work, unfortunately we cannot provide any custom work at this time, sorry! You can edit all blocks where you want to make your custom modifications – http://screencast.com/t/FWRgereEu and here you can change the functions for all blocks – http://screencast.com/t/yfXhwjntA8
3. The only option that the theme has, is to place an inline ad after x paragraph – http://screencast.com/t/IvxEsMjt5
4. There is no extra field for title of the site, we just use wordpress url for author box. A solution is to make this change – http://screencast.com/t/103oZ7QcZl – http://screencast.com/t/UjuVFBGCI
5. Please check Translations section – http://screencast.com/t/9NqBbNwo
6. Check this solution – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/related-article-box/
7. Please use this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css for post template 3 and 4:
.single_template_3 .td-post-featured-image, .single_template_4 .td-post-featured-image {
pointer-events: none;
cursor: default;
}
8. Not sure what you mean, theme have a various styles for category page – http://screencast.com/t/uu33kDROOd
9. Change here to take the featured posts – http://screencast.com/t/0qdQfFpAa8tX and also make this change so the featured filter appear – http://screencast.com/t/dTotgT95dds – http://screencast.com/t/ii4TSLwc
10. You will have to search in code all references to the “featured” name and replave with “features”. This is not so ease as you have to make sure that you change all, as some issues may appear.
11. You need to use a plugin like WP User Avatar – http://screencast.com/t/FbbMthPmy4Rn
12. Please check documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/td_api_moduleadd/ If you’re a beginner we suggest that you look for tutorials or professional training before trying to use this feature as we will not explain the syntax elements which are present in the code.
13. Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have an option for this but you can change the color using custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css – http://screencast.com/t/cuoptJBP7
@media(max-width: 767px) {
.td-banner-wrap-full, .td-header-style-11 .td-logo-wrap-full {
background-color: #ffffff !important;
}
}
Thanks!

Thanks for the fast response.
No, I did not regenerate the thumbnail sizes, and I’ll look at the upscale/regen option. I’m still trying to understand why the Theme is using different size Thumbnails, from the 18 it generates when I upload a new image.
Perhaps I’m missing something obvious here, but I’m willing to regenerate the thumbs if I gain consistency once I post it.
Did you regenerate your thumbnails to fit theme sizes?
Note that WP cannot “enlarge” images to fit layouts, only reduce. This requires using a plugin (as I do) called “Thumbnail Upscale” which adds back in support for making images larger to fit/crop layout, which the folks who make WP have disabled due to a personal philosophy against it (even though your image module on web server supports it!).
Try adding that plugin, then use the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin.
Might not be the issue you’re having, but it looked like it when looking at your home page.

Hi,
Please try to regenerate your thumbnails like @nf_prt suggested – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ also if you use CDN you will have to purge your files.
Thanks!
I had issue of speed. i have recently purchased the theme newsmag. but the speed is extremely low. due to image (thumbnail generator) the all regenerated imaged haven’t expiry dates. i have tried a lot through getting info from forum but the same is in vein. kindly do help me.
Hi,
Please try to regenerate your thumbnails using – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ also check this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and see if the issue persist.
Please provide a link so we can take a look if you still have this issue.
Thanks!
