Hi there fellow forum people,

Does anybody know if there is a particular plugin this Newspaper site is using for its reviews? https://www.mrbuzz.com/

We’d like to do something similar, but haven’t yet seen a plugin that looks like this one. We have tried a couple of sites that tell you which themes and plugins a site is using, but it doesn’t show up.

It could be custom code, of course…

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately that is where I was attempting to change the hyperlink color.

Every hyperlink rollover by default displays black throughout the site. If I clear the hyperlink color box it removes the rollover. If I try and input a color in the hyperlink rollover box it just appears as black in the preview and live site.

Any idea how to fix this?

Cheers
Ryan

Hi I just made a review and had it indexed, https://gamerdiscovery.com/grim-dawn-forgotten-gods-expansion-review/

When you search google for the article you’ll see it does not display the 4.5/5 stars rating. I ran it through google schema markup testing tool and the review rating turned out with an error saying “Your rating value was out of the provided range”. Why is that if I set 4.5 and the range is 0-5? How do I fix this?

Hi,

I do not quite understand what you want to achieve, please provide some explicit details.
Maybe you can find what you need in our documentation for:
Category tag on modules/blocks -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/category-tag-on-modulesblocks/
Primary Category: Build a clear hierarchy for your website -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/
Reviews -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/reviews-2/
Block settings guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you Catalin,

I did review your 5-Stars support. Please find it at:

Hope you can see it. And, thank you again.

This theme was really good before the “AMP plugin integration” to the mobile theme, now the number of issues are growing

– TONS of error alerts from the Google Search Console
– Adsense earnings dropped (probably due to the previous issue)
– Mobile Google Analytics issues
– Problems with the speed of the site
– We are unable to use critical plugins like DISQUS in AMP

And now this: My database is being spammed very hardly by AMP plugin. It’s creating an enormous number of transients in wp_options table.

I believe my site might even crash soon because of this issue. Why a proper mobile implementation is NOT critical for Tagdiv if 60% of our traffic is mobile?.

Hi guys,

As I’m sure you already know, we love the Newspaper theme. However, one area it’s lacking compared to some other themes is how it treats reviews.

Can you please add the following suggestions to your long list of feature requests?
– rich snippets should reflect review units used (points, percentages, stars) rather than always converting to stars
– similarly, blocks should show the actual review units used, rather than converting points or percentage values into stars.
– ability for users to rate/vote is becoming very popular and would greatly enhance the current reviews.
– ability for users to sort blocks rather than just filter would be very helpful. I’d like our readers to be able to sort reviews by score, date or popularity – I can do this when designing a page in TD composer, but I would like our readers to be able to do it, too.
– numbered ranking for blocks, similar to what you do with smart lists. So, for example, when a block of ten posts is sorted by review scores, it displays a ranking number to make it easy to see how it ranks.

Most of these suggestions can be achieved with third-party review plugins, but there is always the issue of integration with the theme. Given that the rest of Newspaper looks so slick, it’s a shame that the review section is lagging behind.

Many thanks,

stuart

Thanks a lot, Calin, yes the code was inserted twice. I have rectified it.

Auto Ads are still not showing in the cloud template but show in the standard pre-built theme template.

The Auto Ad Code is getting loaded in the page source but Ads are not showing.

Have Setup a test :

Single Post Cloud Template 1 – https://candytech.in/oneplus-7/

Single Post Cloud Template 6 – https://candytech.in/android-go-smartphones/ (Auto Ads are not working, the Ads are custom ads inserted using the tag div composer)

Pre-Built Theme Template – Auto Ads are working – https://candytech.in/realme-2-pro-review/

Please guide how to either insert more inline ads in the cloud template or how to make the Auto Ads work with it.

Adsense text/display/in-article/in-display ads will not work with the Cloud Template based on my testing.

This is really essential to have either more inline ads or to add auto ads to the template. Kindly help solving this we are losing revenue due to this issue.

I will be even happy to edit the code if required.

By the way, the theme is great for publishers and have tons of features that are not present on many other themes.

Keep Up the Good Work…

Regards
Kanuj

Any ideas?

How do you change the text and background color of the following topics in the Fashion demo: This week trends, Month in review, Hot stuff coming? How do you change the background color of the “read more” article continuation?

So that the devs understand I’m not trying to waste time.

I disabled every plugin except for the tagDiv composer plugin and the problem persists.

I even tried with a new post that literally had two lines of text and the slash still appears in preview and published version.

I thought it was a Total Cache issue, so I restored defaults and deleted the plugin, this was happening before Guttenberg and it just has become such a nuisance. Whenever I start a post, everything looks great in the editor, I don’t see a phantom forward slash in visual or code mode, then I click preview it shows a ‘\’ within the first 3-4 paragraphs at a random line break, no rhyme or reason.

This affects all of the articles on my page, I’m not using many plug-ins aside from Yoast and the default tagdiv stuff.

I walked away a couple of months ago because it really upset me that I spent so much time working on this and couldn’t figure out what happened. Can someone from support please help me diagnose this issue?

If I try to condense the text and get rid of the line break that the ‘\’ appears in the ‘\’ just moves further down the page but never goes away.

Hi this is the conversation I had with Siteground today

Sharron Livingston: I am trying to make a change on Newspaper – Theme panel – ads. I wish to delete the text in the header ad. Unfortunately the system won’t save. The Support Forum wants

Server requirements
WordPress 4.0 or later
Apache or Nginx
php.ini memory limit: 40MB (recommended: 96M)
PHP version 5.6 or greater (recommended: PHP 7.0 or greater)
MySQL version 5.0 or greater (recommended: MySQL 5.5 or greater)
The mod_rewrite Apache module (optional)
For optimal performance the server requires some settings to be made, the optimizations include:

Use a cache plugin – we recommend WP Super Cache
Page Speed optimization –

Can you help me with this?

Sharron Livingston: This question is related to account: resellerthetravelmagazine.net

Teodor A.: Hey there

Teodor A.: I hope you are doing fine today!

Sharron Livingston: Hi Teador

Sharron Livingston: I am, but feeling overwhelmed

Sharron Livingston: I wanted to save an amendment I made on Newspaper – Theme Panels – Ads

Sharron Livingston: but it won’t save the amendment. so I went to their support panel and they just said the above

Sharron Livingston: and I have no clue what any of that means.

Sharron Livingston: Can you help?

Teodor A.: I understand you and what I can do is to make sure that all the server-side requirements are met

Sharron Livingston: thank you.

Sharron Livingston: shall I hang on here to find out if they are met

Teodor A.: Most welcome! Can you just tell me the domain name in question?

Teodor A.: Yes, but can you just tell me the domain of your site?

Sharron Livingston: http://www.thetravelmagazine.net

Teodor A.: Thank you! I am onit

Sharron Livingston: That’s great. Hanging on…. 🙂

Teodor A.: I am all done now! I carefully reviewed your account and confirm that all requriements server-wise are met now! The only change I had to do was for the memory_limit PHP variable as it was indeed having a lower value

Teodor A.: Everything else looks great!

Sharron Livingston: A cache plugin – we recommend WP Super Cache Page Speed optimization – we created a guide for this here

Sharron Livingston: Do we have that

Teodor A.: Yes, I already checked your website and you do have this pluginSharron Livingston: WP_MEMORY_LIMIT try to increase it at least to 256mb. Also please check the php version to be 7-7.2

Sharron Livingston: do you know what that means

Teodor A.: Yes, the PHP version for your site is currenty 7.1 which meets these requirements, the memory_limit has just neen increased to 256MB

Teodor A.: Oh, great. Now in order to resolve the initial issue, I would suggest to contact the plugin developers you use directly and tell them that the server requirements are met so that they can do some other checks being most familiar with how it works and to resolve issues related to it

Teodor A.: Of course, in case there anything that we can help or adjust from our side, you are always welcome to come back at us

UNFORTUNATELY … the save function still does not work. Can you help?

Hello,
I am using the version 9.6.1 of the theme. I have the official AMP plugin for WordPress enabled without the Mobile theme enabled.
I am getting multiple errors indexed. Example:

There is content which fails AMP validation. However, your site is configured to automatically accept sanitization of the offending markup. You should review the issues to confirm whether or not sanitization should be accepted or rejected. Review issues

Invalid elements: script (8)

What should I do?

Hello, I am trying to achieve the two lines on either side of the text, “Most Popular”, located on the second section of this page: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_beauty/

If you look at my site currently, http://blog.tryandreview.com/ it is showing these swiggly lines. How can I replace them for the two lines like the original newspaper blog beauty template?

Hi,

So you mean like this? – http://prntscr.com/n6ekha
You could maybe achieve something similar with the related articles element of a cloud post template – http://prntscr.com/n6eqpd just a quick example, could be made more similar in design.

Check out the cloud post template here – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single
Here you can also edit them after previewing – https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single

If I misunderstand please correct me.
Thanks

‘Error at zones: 5(models) : 1(dom). The model does not match the content’

Is it possible to get help? Thank you

We have two peer-review medical journals using the newspaper 9 theme and a majority of our content features multiple authors. tagDiv team, please consider making this a standardized feature in your theme. For a theme that attracted us based on its functionality and ease of use, this would be a great way to add value to your theme for magazine publishers.

Ok, when I updated the theme, it completely screwed up my entire homepage.

What’s worse is TagDiv Composer is now gone! Please help!
