Hmm… I’ve never done this myself (create a new post template). Your blank page might have something to do with the content being loaded partly in single_template_#.php and partly in loop-single-#.php for each of these templates. Do you have all the parts you need?

P.S. If you’re going to repeat that code for each sidebar case, you can at least define a function in the same file. That is to say, have this at the top, in PHP tags:

function my_features_fields() { // No parameter because $post is still active

  // Update this list using the same format for all the field names you want
  $field_names = ['2g_network', '3g_network'];

  // Set up tabs
  $to_echo = '[vc_row][vc_column width="1/1"][vc_tabs]';

  // Set up features tab
  $to_echo .= '[vc_tab title="Features" tab_id="features"]';

  // Begin a list
  $to_echo .= '<ul class="features_list">';

  // Loop through the fields
  foreach ($field_names as $field_name) {
    $data = get_field_object($field_name);

    // Check if we have a value and set to a default if not
    if ($data['value']) {
      $value = $data['value'];
    } else {
      $value = 'No information on record.';
    }

    $to_echo .= '<li>' . '<span class="features_label">' . $data["label"] . ': </span>';
    $to_echo .= '<span class="features_value">' . $value . '</span></li>';

  }

  // Close the list
  $to_echo .= '</ul>';

  // Close the tab
  $to_echo .= '[/vc_tab]';

  // Close the tab group etc.
  $to_echo .= '[/vc_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row]';

  // We have to filter the whole string to make WP interpret the shortcodes
  $to_echo = wpb_js_remove_wpautop($to_echo);

  // Output
  return $to_echo;
}

And then just have this one line wherever you want to place your tabs:

<?php echo my_features_fields(); ?>

Good luck getting the rest working! I’ll stop checking this thread shortly, but it’s been good.

Hi Lucian,

Sorry I never came back to you about this.

This solution only partly works for me because I have a couple of pages that are very popular so I end up with page author avatars appearing in the list as well as the popular posts.

Cheers

Mike

Hi,

It can be done using javascript, here are some discussions about this – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/rtl-problem-on-change-sidebar-position/#post-11707

The same approach can be used for the two header styles, you’ll have to add the code inside the header.php file. If you don’t have basic coding knowledge i suggest you hire a professional developer to build this for you.

Thank you, Emil G.

Hi,

how can I strip unnecessary code in the excerpts? I don’t want to show the video codes in the excerpts. Currently it looks like this…

“Ihren knapp zwölfeinhalb Millionen Instagram-Jüngern präsentiert Miley Cyrus eine Verletzung an ihrem Ellbogen – natürlich nackt. var snackTV_config = { userwidth:’100%’, autoplay:’pctp’, hideitems:’none’, type:7, publisher:’promicabana’, color:’000000′, bgcolor:’ffffff’, font:’arial’, layout:’light’, videos:’1410865′, isRTL:false }”

Thank you!

Hi!
Thank you, partly it helped. I managed to get rid of the title using the code you gave me, but it’s still a little blue area and this link in it .

Big deal should be an understatement from what I understand. Mine is more of a cursory interest in the industry as I love to dabble and have some income riding on related issues. Didn’t Google basically trash the most well-known and used SEO strategies while implementing authorship shortly after launching G+? Talk about much ado about nothing… years later.

Hi,

How can I move the logo to the right side of the page instead of the default left as it is now. I’m working with RTL version of wordpress.

Thank you,
Tzachi.

Hi,

Try replacing the get_permalink() function just with wpbitly_shortlink() like this:

Thanks

Hiya,

I am still not really getting anywhere so sorry if i keep emailing you. Using the Bit Ly wordpress extension I think they say use this:

<?php wpbitly_shortlink(); // shortcode shweetness. ?>

Does that look correct? What part of the code does this need to get inserted in?

Note with twitter that once they cache a certain page, they don’t recache it once updated typically. I have this issue on couple of sites where we did some major updates and wanted to re share some pages, but both FB and twitter keep the OLD info, old photo, etc. and won’t update the NEW info, since they already have been “shared” the “old/bad” version. This may not apply to you, but keep in mind FB and Twitter have so much traffic and frequent technical issues, that sometimes there is simply nothing you can do about it as it has nothing to do with your site whatsoever.

Basically if you look at your page source and see all the properly formatted og:tags and twitter tags, description and title tags, then the issue is NOT with your site.

For example, I was sharing some stories from CNN to my G+ account, and all that was showing in the share was the photo and the page URL, no headline, and no description. Issue not with CNN, but with Google.

Likely doesn’t help, but it’s an on/off/on problem with sharing stuff to FB in particular, and sometimes G+. Twitter has been mostly stable, but they do have problems but they do at least have a developer page to SHOW what systems in their network are/are not working in realtinme.

Twitter status alert: http://status.twitter.com/

Twitter network/API status: https://dev.twitter.com/status

Facebook: Platform Live Status: https://developers.facebook.com/status/

example on Facebook Aug 1:
August 1 at 8:59am

Increased errors/latency on all Platform surfaces
Facebook is currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all API and web surfaces. Our engineers detected the issue quickly and are working to resolve it ASAP. We’ll update shortly.

I suppose HERE is good since we are paying customers and this forum IS supposed to offer a place for support…
+ maybe others can find it helpful in the future as well, who knows…

My main menu with WPML language switcher: http://screencast.com/t/JY2sLaaQZHtH

Well, putting the language switcher on the main-menu:

  • You set the main-menu on the theme panel > header > Main Menu > Header Main Menu <br>
  • You can verify this on Appearance > Menus > Manage Locations (but I think it syncs automatically)
  • WPML > Languages > Language switcher in the WP Menu <br>
  • Check “Display the language switcher in the WP Menu” & choose the same menu you set for the main-menu
  • Do all that for the default language that you set for WPML originally & use “WPML > WP Menus Sync” to keep the menu’s sync across languages (where needed).

As for the CSS modifications, add the following to your custom CSS on the theme panel:

/* Menu Language Switcher */

	.sf-menu .menu-item-language > a {
		display: inline-block;
	}
	.sf-menu .menu-item-language > a {
		text-decoration: none !important;
	}
	.sf-menu .menu-item-language > a {
		display: block;
		position: relative;
	}

	.sf-menu .menu-item-language > ul.sub-menu > li {
		direction: ltr;
		text-align: left;
	}

	.sf-menu .menu-item-language > ul.sub-menu > li a {
		padding-right: 29px;
		min-width: 1px;
		padding: 0px 11px 0px 11px;
		height: 48px;
		line-height: 51px;
		font-size: 16px;
		color: #202020;
		z-index: 9999;
	}

	.menu-item-language img.iclflag {
		margin: 0 4px;
	}

/* Menu Upgrade */

There’s a bit more if you are using RTL language…

RTL ARABIC web site for dental news :

Since no new info posted here are some of my findings so far which I need your input on ASAP:

* Similar issue on WPML forum – http://wpml.org/forums/topic/how-can-i-translate-theme-options-content/
* From the response – this may be the missing link http://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/

(I did not see you include wpml-config.xml)

I am not sure why you listed the site as WPML compatible, but what I need is separate option panel per language to set:

* different header (image logo & text per panguage)
* different footer
* different template settings – to account for RTL / LTR on non category pages
* different translations – since it’s DIFFERENT LANGUAGES obviously…
* different Custom CSS

(Of course you can do a complete compatibility – but the above is a must!)

Hi,

Try this custom CSS, add it in Theme Panel > Custom CSS:

.sf-menu {
float: right !important;
}

#td-top-search {
right: auto !important;
left: 40px !important;
}

hi,
thank you for reporting this issue, we will take a look.

I also see that your site looks very different from the main theme.

I’m guessing that speed booster changes the loading order of css (all the css that your site is ussing).

Thanks for you message.

Hi,

1. Unfortunately because of the style inside the paragraph tag the inline ad isn’t working, it’s an known issue for us and we are working on that. A temporary solution in your case is to add this code

to the td_module_blog.php file like this http://screencast.com/t/kYNm78tuY
We have tested this and seems to work fine as long as the paragraph tag is the same with the one in the code.

For your other two questions Radu will give you an answer shortly.

Thanks

Hi there

I’m using a responsive design. If the window is smaller the menu drops down to two lines rather than one. This is fine, but I have an issue where if you try to hover over the drop down menu on the top level and click on one of the items, it takes to to the menu item sitting underneath.

Is there something to fix this?

Here is the site: trtlmt.com.au
The issue happens when ‘Recipe’ is over ‘Hints & Tips’ and you cannot click any of the drop down menu items without it going to the ‘Hints & Tips’ page.

Thanks
