Any development on the issue with separating tags and social sharing?

I would like to have the tags above the content and the social sharing below, how can I do this?

AH, you may be using Jetpack or something to “auto post” — that is different from sharing. Technically you shouldn’t be able to share/like something to FB without an account. SO, not sure how that is happening at all. Sorry.

Likely they edited in the OG tag data. Or, MASHABLE has a high-level account with FB (2 million members!), meaning the “account” is called MASHABLE and not a specific person. This likely means they have commercial account under business name, vs a “person” who then has a “page” like you and me.

Their OG tag clearly just says “Mashable” for site name.

ON your site you would likely need to “not set” an author for a story you don’t want to have author on, and make sure in WP the “name” of your site is just name and not name.xyz.

In the case with Send2Press.com – the reason it shows that vs “Send2Press” is because all shares go through a shortcode/302 redirect. If shared directly, it should pick up the OG tag "<meta property="og:site_name" content="Send2Press Newswire">"

That may not help at all. But, it was my impression/experience in how that all works.

Check your meta tags for Facebook and Twitter (YOAST SEO or similar is useful for setting these up properly). Facebook “should” pull from the info in your OG tags, so that would be the first place to look.

No, it is not a fb account. This is the name of admin on site (just one word).
NAME OF WEBSITE | name of admin who posted on site

And I do not have this while sharing my other site. It is just website and that is all.

On mashable.com they even edited the name of website

So it is not “mashable.com”, but just “mashable”

So I assume this info is editable. But I can not find where it is.

FYI, when you download the theme files, there is clearly a file called “update_log.txt” … you can download the update zip file without having to install it on your website.

Good idea to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the files you’re downloading, as to what is in each folder and the supporting documents. Just a thought, no insult intended.

Actually … I think this might be due to a caching issue with mod_pagespeed, but still testing. With mod_pagespeed “on” at all, I have issues with the “suggested” flyout, and the styles for the social sharing with tags box breaks.

Will update as I test this for plugin conflict, or cleaning the mod_pagespeed cache, even though it’s NOT supposed to cache anything in the wp-content/theme folder, like a stylesheet.

For those using mod_pagespeed – this is relevant, for everybody else just ignore these minor updates 🙂

Will use a plugin for now. Hopefully your next upgrade will include this option.

Thank you for your reply. I tried to desable all plugins and it’s the same.

It’s a mistake… But it’s sure that it’s not newspaper theme that do that because i had the same problem with previous theme.

Google+ connectivity sometimes times out; sometimes does not show the preview but then shows it when posted. Nothing to do with the theme which simply “sends” the URL to Google+ to capture. FYI, you can always simply “paste in” the URL of the page you’re posting to G+ to post there.

There were some notable issues with G+ a week or so back, where every post I’d do from my website (not using Newspaper theme), would only show a single line break for preview (!), but then on submit it would do “confirmed posted” and show the image and snippet.

But this may not be related to your specific issue.
