I have enabled it in theme options, added widgets to newspaper default sidebar, and added special class td-ss-row, but I still do not see it. Can you give me step by step instructions to make sure I have done everything to get this added site-wide? Also, where am I configuring the per-page items that go in the smart sidebar?
Hello, I have created a second custom sidebar in the page.php and I want it to act like a smart sidebar. I tried adding the “td-ss-row” class on its div but it is not working.
What can you suggest me? Where can I find how the smart sidebar works and apply it to my custom bar?

First we would like to thank you for your kind words, we really appreciate your feedback.
1. Mobile theme was intent to display a very simple version of each page, that’s why there is no support for shortcodes. Unfortunately there is no way to keep the mobile theme active only for posts, sorry. It is simpler to leave it inactive if you want a more complex homepage and hide the sidebars from posts using css. The code will be this one:

2. This happens because the code from theme panel applies after the one from style.css. When the page loads the browser call the style.css then the custom code generated by the theme. 3. Indeed is not recommended to add google ads in smart sidebar but unfortunately current implementation won’t allow content above smart sidebar, sorry.

Im doing my 1st web ever, and i bought your theme. Im amazed, good job. But i have some problems with the “phone display”. Im in love/hate with the mobile theme, so maybe you can help me out:
1- I really love the mobile theme in terms of the POSTS. Its really clean, and no sidebar showing up (which i consider innecesary on phones). Everything is clear and fast.
BUT! The homepage… its waay simple for me. I know are able only to put the grid to features posts, and the “last articles”. But im missing so much things, even the slider revolution which gives nice visual.
In the other hand, if i desactivate the mobile theme plugin, i really like the homepage shown, but the Posts are way more chaotic with the sidebar in the botton. Even for Ads, i think is way simpler to add them with the plugin On.
So… what can i do? I mean, there is a way to have everything set up with the plugin, except the homepage? Or is just impossible?
2- I didnt want some social icons, so i read the forum and found that CSS text which hide the unnecesary ones.
The problem is, when i update the POST in the mobile (with NO PLUGIN), it shows all the icons for 1 second, and then it hides the unnecesary ones. Call me maniac, but i really dont like that xD
Notice that if i activate the mobile theme plugin, go to theme panel->mobile theme->custom CSS and put the code, when i refresh the post its perfect. It doesnt show anything else than the icons i want.
And in the desktop, it depends. Sometimes it show them for 0.5 secs only, and then dissapear.
How can i solve this? Instead of hiding the icons that i dont want, its possible delete them? Maybe i have no issues if i do that. (I know is a bit of maniac, but…xD)
3- As i said in point 1, i really dont like sidebars on phone view. Thats why i want the mobile theme plugin (for me perfect in 95%) with the homepage from desktop version.
In case you cannot provide me a solution, ill have to put the sidebar. My intention was to put 1-2 Ads (from adsense) on that spot, in post pages. But i want to have a smart sidebar, cause my posts are long and it feels empty when you start to go down on the web and see nothing on the right.
But i read that i cannot put adsense on smartsidebar, so… my question is. Can i put on static ad from adsense in the begining of the sidebar (like a normal sidebar), and then a smart sidebar which goes down when you are reading?
I dont know if i express good enough: I want a post page. With a add in the beginning of the sidebar side, static, in the up side. And just below that add, one smart sidebar (with social counters, blocks, etc…) which goes down keeping always the right side “busy”. But the Add is staying in the up side.

I’ve checked your site and font a js error in browser’s console: http://screencast.com/t/MvroKUQpR This error is related with theme’s js and might affect the smart sidebar. If made any changes in theme’s files try to revert them then test the site again.

I’ve tested smart sidebar on my side using V 3.1 of Newsmag and works fine. Please make sure that you setup the sidebar according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-smart-sidebar/ also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test the site again.

smartsidebar notwork at versei 3.1 ?
It seems like using a child theme breaks some functionality.
For example, smart sidebar stopped working, 2 blocks from the footer do not show up, the menu is missing arrows (the ones that appear when there is submenus) and it seems like the text doesn’t fit well inside roms/games the counters appear below.

I wonder why the smart sidebar does not work when the sidebar is set to the left side. And if the line of visual composer also is the model that appears on the left sidebar.
With this setting up the visual composer sidebar line does not scroll (smart sidebar effect).

Using the Newspaper smart sidebars, I’ve set those up from the theme panel for each category.
Once in the widget area of WP, I see the sidebars, can add widgets, can see them correctly on the website.
But (of course there is a But 😉 if I go back to the widgets area of WP after doing some other things (adding an article for example), no more widgets in the widget area for the smart sidebars.
The funny thing is : they are displaying on my website (so are still in the database, I presume), but are not anymore listed in the widget area (not even in the inactive widgets) for the specific smart sidebars.
FYI : i hadn’t added any title for any of the widget. All the widgets of the default sidebar stay correctly.

I added Taboola ad codes to my website yesterday and the ads are only showing up on some pages. According to my analytics, they are only showing up 84% of the time.
I am currently only using Smart List 6 and the default post template with the right sidebar position. The Taboola ads show up on the Smart list and regular posts, but only on some of them. It seems to be completely random.
Any ideas how to fix?

1) This can be done on pages, but not on posts unfortunately. Posts can only have standard or smart side-bar. There is no semi-smart sidebar available. sorry!
2) If you want a different header for posts, you need to add conditions in the code for it.

This will set header style 12 for all posts. If you want a different header style change the number 12 in the code to the header style number you want.

I want to ask two questions:
1. Can this theme set the sidebar on post pages to be like “semi-smart”? Because I don’t want my sidebar ad to be sticky but the rest of the sidebar contents (which are below the ad) to be sticky.
2. Can I set a different header style for post pages? I mean different than the global header style.

as you can see from my web site (please see http://www.ntr24.tv/), the sidebar contains mostly advertising banners. It is fine on a desktop PC but, if you open the web site on a smartphone, all the sidebar content is placed at site bottom and, unfortunately, our advertisers don’t like to see their ad banners placed at the site tail. Is there a way to display these banners in a different way, for example between the other posts and a litle bit more “up” in the site on mobile devices?

For your second request, please notice that that whitespace come from your sidebar because this is too short for your page content and if it is fixed when you scroll down you will bring that white space. You will have to try to make your sidebar being in sticky mode and then through this method you can get rid of it this space. There is not a general list with images which will be best to use. Basically you have to use images which are at least by thumb’s size where they will be used. For example smart list 1 use a thumb by 640×0 px when the post have sidebar. In this case the mage used in that smart-list should have at least 640px width.

I just played around with widgets for a minute – and suddenly, the smart sidebar stopped working on this page. It’s still working on all the other pages, but i can’t get it “sticky” on my homepage anymore. Honestly – just played with widgets, nothing changed.
I don’t have any clue what I might have done wrong here. Emptied the cache – didn’t help…

I’m having a little issue showing the Awesome Weather widget in the sidebar of my site (please see http://wp-dev-ntr24-31ba64cdf656650e14f1f97f34ac243d.ntr24.tv).
I’ve put in my home widgetized sidebar two Awesome Weather widgets following two different ways: the first on top has been added using a VC element to the sidebar (which inside contains only an Awesome Weather widget) and the second below has been added simply dragging a [tagDiv Awesome Widget] element to the home sidebar (Appaerance->Widgets section). The rendering result is that the first one weather widget is not correctly displayed on smartphones (due to the Celsius simbol on the new line, please see http://screencast.com/t/KlPlxzbBRFK) while it is correctly displayed on desktop devices. The second one weather widget is corretcly displayed only on smartphones (please see http://screencast.com/t/9ej82sj8) while it is not corretly displayed on desktop devices (please see http://screencast.com/t/oZlIAeIfn1V). So that how can I get the Awesome Weather widget to be correctly shown both on desktop devices and smartphone devices?
Endly, even if I know that the Weather widget is a new feature to be improved in the future, I’d like to ask you some implementation ideas that maybe could be considered for future developments:
– could you optionally show the link “Extended forecasting” on the widget, pointing to the forecasting feed site (in my case it is http://openweathermap.org/city/3182179)?
– could you show the weather icons and the max/min temperatures for each one of the next days forecastings rather than displaying only the max temperatures as it is now?
Last but not the least: what is the caching expiring time used by the Awesome Weather widget before a new call to the weather feed server has to be performed? In the future do you plan to make it modifiable?

As a notice, for better results, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN file if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

I’ve checked your site and noticed that your using page template default for homepage. On this post template the sidebar won’t be displayed when Visual Composer it’s used unless you add it on the page. Also for posts you don’t have sidebar set. Try to set a sidebar from post editor clear the cache memory the test the site again.

I’ve searched the forum (unless I missed it) and can’t find info on adding a simple image block or image to the sidebar.
Is this possible nice and easy? Otherwise how would I go about it with css?
I’m trying to achieve a couple of call to action images/buttons in the sidebar such as “Careers”, “Meet the team” etc. The vibe I’m going for is similar to http://www.virign.com sidebar with clickable images.
