Please ensure that you have fully followed all the steps from out tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/ Also, please ensure that this type of issue does not come from your untested plugins which could interfere with the theme and also. could create some js errors which stopped this feature. Try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN file if you are using the CDN system and test it again and check the results.

I’m not sure exactly what it is you want to achieve. You can add the big grid in it’s own full row (not a split one) The smart sidebar only works on sidebars so if elements are not added in a 1/3 column, then there will be no smart sidebar effect. The standard content cannot scroll down with the page as a smart sidebar does.
Please provide more details to what you want to achieve so I can understand better how to help.

Hi, Im am trying to create a homepage where the image grid at the top goes all the way across and have a smartbar below that but it doesnt seem to matter if I use a smart bar or not as it always appears at the top of the page beside the grid, Ive been being trying for hour to figure this out with no solution. Ive tried streching the grid, and the sidebar just appears behind, ive used td-ss-row, which doesnt seem to have any effect at all.
Any help would be appreciated
Hello,
The sidebar can be configured from the theme settings on pages, categories or posts. On pages the sidebar can be added directly on a page in visual composer on a split row. On posts or categories you can chose a sidebar form the widgets area or create your own. It can be selected from the post settings or from the category settings of the panel.

I have checked your website and I saw that you are not using the Visual Composer for your custom page template. Also, please notice that the Smart Sidebar can be used only through Visual Composer. So, please try to adjust your page template to Visual Composer in order to achieve as you wish. Hello, I have custom page template I create based on Newspaper theme single.php … but for some reason, sidebar on my template page does not do sticky smart sidebar action … I cannot figure out why, all code in template sidebar is the same … any ideas? Please notice that each feature which you bring in plus will affect your loading page. The theme was tested to works as properly with any type of feature and also, to take good results in loading page. For example, this type of feature (smart sidebar) cannot be compared with 4 Big Grid for your page (regarding on page speed) because Big Grids consume more resources than Smart Sidebar.

Here we go with a feature request. At this point, the smart sidebar can only be activated or deactivated for all sidebars at once.
With my current site, I want the “smart” functionality only for about half of my sidebars.
It would be great to get a checkbox under every sidebar (in the sidebar builder at /wp-admin/widgets.php) to activate the ‘stickyness’.
This functionality is currently provided by a free plugin called Q2W3 Fixed Widget (Sticky Widget) [see: /q2w3-fixed-widget/]. It would be great if you could get ‘inspired’ by their code and put a functionality like this into the best selling theme on evanto!
With Q2W3 Fixed Widget you can even say only certain widgets scroll. That would also fix the problem with google adsense.

The smartlists are very sensitive to open html tags. Please try to edit your smartlist posts in text mode and make sure the heading tags are closed properly. Open elements ten=d to break the sidebar.

I have found a nasty bug with newspaper 7.0.1: I cannot add new widget blocks to newly created sidebars.
The problem appeared when I was trying to publish an article with smart list.
The widgets appear underneath the article instead of the sidebar.
I have uninstalled all plugins and the problem still persists.
So basically I am not able to use one of the unique theme features.
This used to work with version 6.
A partial fix is to use h3 tags as listings, but with h2 tags it is broken.

1) Please update the social counter by disabling the one you have now and deleting files and installing the new plugin version which comes with the latest theme version. You must have social counter version 4.0 for it to work properly
2) There is no official soulution for adding new social icons but you can try to replicate this method for adding a new social share option: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/add-a-linkedin-button/
3) The name of the file must be the same as the one in the main theme. your file is named functions2/.php
4) Same as 3

6) The cropping of the featured images is different for all post styles you use. There are a total of 14 post templates to chose from: https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/

That seems a css issue bu I am not sure what could cause it as the theme is tested and the menu works fine even with smart-sidebar enabled. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test again. Also if you have any custom css code added in theme’s custom css filed make sure it won’t affect the menu.
If you still can’t manage to solve this please provide your site url so I can have a closer look at this issue.

3. What is a proper way of adding code to functions.php file in the child theme? When I simply add code here https://gyazo.com/c829207705804e51f76ee0dde7401ca9 nothing happens. The changes apply only when I make them in functions.php file placed in the mother folder (not child).
4. What is the proper way of using child theme? I made the following steps:
• I copied the child folder from here Themes\Newspaper-tf\code\Newspaper-child
• Pasted it to here /wp-content/themes/
• Then I opened functions.php file in the child theme and tried to make some additions, but nothing happened. I added the code here https://gyazo.com/100ac1b006855c8be7d7c14091e82559 But the code didn’t work. It worked only when I added it to the functions.php file in the mother folder of the theme
