Issue resolved for missing homepage content!

1. Deactivate TD Composer in plugins section
2. Uninstall TD Composer in plugins section
3. Download the latest Newspaper 8.7 version from ThemeForest
4. Extract out the content
5. Go to Theme –> Newspaper –> includes –> plugins
6. Locate the zipped td-composer file in the plugins folder
7. Head back to WordPress, install td-composer as a new plugin

@MDNM2017 did you clear your browser cache? I did and mine worked. You have to delete both the td composer and td multipurpose plugins and upload those that came with the theme update (preferably via ftp).

Don’t downgrade. Just delete the td multipurpose and td composer and upload the updated versions that came with the theme version 8.7 and activate.

Thank you my friends. I solved it by excluding “tagDiv Composer” (Version 1.0) and manually installed Version 2.0.

But why are not you having automatic update of the plugin?

With another key counter value, the pageview counter on the mobile theme doesn’t work properly. The only thing that fixed this is renaming the key meta in the wp_postmeta table:
update wp_postmeta
set meta_key = 'post_views_count'
where meta_key = 'old_key_name'

Then everthing works fine as aspected! A simple solution to import the pageviews into the newspaper theme.

@reatlat I changed hosts recently and the previous had php7.2 and the current one has yet to update to 7.2. But the recent theme update supports php 7.2.

I also experienced the same problem. Delete the td composer and td multipurpose plugin from WordPress panel. Update the theme first then update multipurpose and lastly the td composer (the plugin updates are in the plugins folder for the new update 8.7).

I updated but it hasn’t fixed those issues

Thank you!

Because in my word press, I have Envato configured and always have been able to download the updates. But my biggest concern is that some that have already done this are experiencing failures – 500 errors, etc. or pages not loading.

Since the update is synonymous with everything blank, at least in the admin area. If I disable the plugin td-composer via FTP, the admin area goes back, but I’m not in my posts purely. The homepage itself is displayed correctly.

Hi Alin, I will try that. ALso can you tell me what exactly is included in the New update?

So I see you’re showing me probably the most recent files. I currently have 8.0 installed (if its running good, I dont usually update it if not needed).

I’ll re-add the post date and see.

If I were to update, am I able to simply use the latest files or do I need to go through the whole process of the previous versions? ><

Deactivating tagDiv composer and the frontpage is back, I’ll try to update it.

Please update the theme plugins as well. Deactivate and remove them and reinstall them from the latest theme package. Check if the issues is solved.

Also make sure you have updated the theme properly
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
You could try reinstalling then theme as well, by FTP.

If you use a child theme, please try to temporarily switch to the main theme.
Let us know the results.

Hi,

Please try to reinstall the theme and the theme plugins and see how it goes.
I’m not sure what you mean with “update my header.php”. What do you modify there?

Thanks!

Hi,

Also tagdiv plugins have a version number – https://www.screencast.com/t/Z65Y4Hi9wKiC
Practically tagdiv composer, social counter and multipurpose plugins should update automatically. Only some server configurations may block this, so in this case you will need to update them manually.

Thanks!

The weather changes were not a decision on our part, they have modified the implementation of the widget. We simply adapted to the said implementation (it could have also been removed entirely from the theme).

From what I can see in the screenshots, some of the composer sections are not displayed properly, for example the row layout options.

In some cases that has happened because of plugins. You could try as a quick test to deactivate them all, leave only theme plugins active. Check if this solves the issue.

The theme and theme plugins should work properly if the basic requirements are met. The newly released update now also supports PHP 7.2. Previously such PHP versions were causing issues if used with the theme.

Hello,

As i have made some changes on some theme files, now that the theme has a new update i would like if is possible a detailed document of all the modified files.

The theme update log does not includes files names.

I’ve always updated the topic by FTP and very neat.
I will not reinstall the topic, because I do not want to risk completely killing the site.
