My site has been down for a few months due to malware infection. Just recently switched hosts, had the site cleaned and brought back up. Everything is working perfectly as it was on the mobile version, but on desktop I am experiencing the following issues and cannot find any way to rectify.–
1. Mega menu is not appearing in the header where it was (it appears it is all set correctly but not showing)
(In it’s place is just the plain site identity info)
2. Front page block headings have disappeared and will not return no matter what changes I attempt to make to fonts and styles.
3. Side bar headings for each widget in the sidebar are also not showing.
I have been through the Theme panel and all other areas of settings making changes to see no results no matter what changes I make. (all changes were tested after deleting the cache and then changed back to what they should be).
Could you please advise on what changes/ updates need to be made to bring the sites appearance back to what it was (and what it still appears to be set to in the theme panel). site address http://www.sevenwanderers.com/
7.2 is ‘recommended’ by WP, but not ‘required.’
Most sites are still running 5.6x and some are now on 7.1x; many are testing 7.2, but a lot of WP stuff not compatible (e.g., I did 7.2 test, and one WooCommerce plugin for MailChimp won’t work without 7.2, but the PDF invoice plugin from Woo, won’t work with 7.2 … which I think they are working on …)
Try setting your PHP version to 7.1 vs 7.2 for now.

i like the 3 column layout with a bigger column in the middle . so 1/4 1/2 1/4 . im using the pagebuilder option to achieve this. you suggest not to use that layout of columns with newspaper 8.5. why is that?
if I edit the css of a block will i have to create a child theme so it doesn’t get deleted when i update?

I updated to Newspaper 8.5 and everything looked good but my whole menu bar has disappeared. I reverted back to 8.0 with the hope that it would rectify itself but the menu us still missing. I have some menu headings as mega menus. Can you help please?

Hi — I have been having issues since 8.5 with the search icon. I reverted back to 8.2 and finally updated to 8.6. I have done absolutely everything suggested in this forum. cleared cache, used ftp to overwrite theme, opened theme panel and applied different headers and saved….
I am hoping someone can give me some help. One of the updates says they fixed this issue, but it’s not fixed for me.

thank you very much first for helping, there is still one error reporting which I cant get rid of when I tried to update same picture.
I found in ThemePanel-Background two places where to upload/update picture and that removed two errors but one still remained.
Then for test I replaced that picture on both places in Background with new picture so I will be able to see difference, if that old is still somewhere in wordpress.

While now still that test result shows that old picture is somewhere and needs to get updated also. So I assume that I updated/loaded new succesfully on 2 places as 2 errors dissapeared:
“An image with an insecure url of “http://www.digitalfuturetimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/14-300×199.jpg” was loaded on line: 891 of https://www.digitalfuturetimes.com/.”
I dont know where to find that last error- where is an option to exchange that picture-or update it?

Hi,
Yes they will be removed, you could make backups of the files and replace them in the theme after making an update. Of course you would have to check if the files have been modified in anyway in the update, or there could be issues. So this method may not be update proof.

Maybe you have other woocommerce plugins that need updates to be compatible with the new woocommerce. I have only the woocommerce plugin installed, no add-ons or extensions.

Ask your hosting provider to increase the allocated resources if needed, and make sure the wp debug is set to false. Also check the PHP version used by the server, the theme is tested with versions up to 7.1, support for higher versions will be available in the coming update.

You do not need to activate the plugin as it is a bundled version. The updates are provided by us as they need to be tested with our theme prior to install and the proper adjustments made to the theme otherwise, they could not work properly. Yes you can still use Visual composer further. We will provide updates for this plugin along theme updates. There will be no problem using Visual composer, just remember to deactivate the tagDiv composer after making the update.

Indeed the multi-purpose plugin has to be active to have access to these elements and also increased row settings. There are even corresponding options in the theme panel that will not be available without this plugin.
The composer will receive many more options in the coming update.

There were some issues between the theme and the WordPress update a few updates ago. These were fixed a while ago in version 8.2. It is recommended to always update theme and WordPress, not just one.

The FTP method is the most recommended. Then check if the issue is still happening. a thing to note is that after updating the tagDiv composer will be automatically activated. This can cause issues with specific Visual composer elements,
If it is, go through all these steps. Deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, clear all caching and CDN files if used. Switch to the main theme in case you use a child theme. Temporarily remove custom code added in theme panel or theme files, do not enter any code in theme files. While going thorough these steps, keep checking if the issue is still present.

There would be differences between the circle and round styles, a round shape is not necessarily an perfect circle.
2. The tagDiv composer has many row layouts

There is a 4 column layout as well. Simply make sure the multi-purpose plugin is active. This will add row layouts and multi-purpose elements in the composer. In coming updates there will be a considerable amount of features added to the tagDiv composer.

So I followed a guide provided by a TagDiv employee on how to get Newspaper theme to update automatically. However, I see the items on my Envato market plugin and I see the download button but nothing happens.
