I’m just going to snag this post, rather than creating my own topic. I’m new to themes in general, and this will be my first update. I read on their post about how to update, that I should delete my old one, download and upload the new Newspaper 7, and then I can reselect it. My concern is, will I lose all of my customization? Like my theme colors, google analytics code, etc.
The site Admins probably won’t be back until Monday so I will offer my own experience.
I’m on the December 2016 version and there were no bugs for me, I find most releases now have very few issues compared with say V4 or V6 updates years ago.
I’m doing the latest update tonight and from the change list and other users comments I wouldn’t imagine there will be any issues.
Yes you need VC and it comes with the update (latest version).

I am still using Newspaper 6.7 (dinedrinkbellingham.com). I want to update to 7.3 but have a couple general questions.
Are the bugs people reported with update resolved?
Do I need Visual Composer? Does Newspaper 7.3 still come with it?

I can edit main blog page in visual composer but all the time when I click on update page I lose everything.
I don’t know why. When I enter a “Novosti” page in VC writes: You have blank page. Start adding content or templates.
Than I create a block as I want and filter categories but when I click on update I lose everything. 🙁

I can edit everything in Visual composer without losing anything when I click update. Strange thing.
Maybe I should contact Visual composer support. I thought I was doing something wrong with theme settings …

Do you update the theme to 7.6.1 version? If you have not do it you should do it now because in the latest version of the theme, was introduced the option to disable logging section. Please notice that since now, if you will have a log-in on your website and if you do not have the https you will see the no-secure message. You should have the https. The last version of the theme is Newspaper 7.6.1 as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ljYffjZM Please ensure that you have downloaded all the theme packet from Theme Forest. Notice that the theme code is fully tested and you should not encounter any problems if it was right installed. Try to update the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Update to # 154956.
Disregard question #1> “I notice that the custom ad will only work if I “only select” the category I added the Custom Ad to when I create the Post. If I add more than 1 category to the post the Custom Ad will not display, the Default sidebar ad will display-not the Custom ad. Is this correct or how can assign more than 1 Category to a Post and still have the Custom Ad display”.
New> I “assume” that the Custom Ad will only display in the Category that it was created! right?

In a future update, it is possible, but we cannot say for sure if it gets done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though.

You will have to be careful how you update. If you do not replace the files in the theme but rather keep the old theme and then switch to the new one with the old one still in your folders, then the sideabrs issue will appear again. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and make sure there are not 2 versions of the theme in your appearance->themes section. It should only be one version even after the update.
Make a back-up beforehand though so if something happens, you can roll back to your current install.
Follow the update process described in the guide step by step and you should be fine

You will not need permanent the Facebook Debugger. This tool is used to force this action when the Facebook has not updated all data. Sometimes it will take a while until the FB will update all of these information and that’s why this tool is used.

no i mean i don’t want update but i want to fix this issue. my version 3.0. after the update 3.3.1 my theme edits removed. so i’m back to 3.0 version. but still have this problem.
edit : which documents are changed ? i think i can replace just a new documents.

list contains changed file from 7.5 – 7.6.1, not 7.6 – 7.6.1
