Hello Bettina,
I found out a way to make it happen with this code :
case 'copy_url':
// Assuming $post_id is the ID of the current WordPress post
$post_id = get_the_ID();
if ($post_id) {
$post_permalink = home_url("?p=$post_id");
return array(
'url' => $post_permalink,
'title' => 'Copy URL'
);
} else {
return array(
'url' => home_url(),
'title' => 'Copy URL'
);
}
break;
Is there any way to keep this change upon updates please ? Something like child theme does
I know I’m giving a bit much feedback today. I’m sorry, but I’ve got time to deal with these things today. I love you all. I’m having a problem where if I post a new article and then open the main page, the main page doesn’t update with the new article. If I refresh it or use shift+F5 to refresh it, it’s fine. The bigger problem is that if I log in from a browser or device I have used for a long time and open the web page, I see the same status as the last time I saw it from that device. For example, I last visited the site on my old laptop in October 2023. In January, I turned the laptop back on, typed in the address of my website, and it was not the January 2024 front page, but the October 2023 status. Of course, after refreshing it, I can now see the fresh articles, but I fear that my visitors will think that the main page hasn’t been updated for a long time if they see this. I am using Wp-rocket on the site, but my other site (also Newspaper template and Wp-rocket plugin) has no such problem.
I have a client who has version 8.1 of Newspaper without a license, and now wants to purchase the license and upgrade to version 12.6.3
What do you suggest I do with that update, since the client does not want a new website, just pay for the license and it is updated with the latest version
thanks for your help
Im having a weird cache issue, not sure if its the browsers, host or theme but some browsers not showing changes on some machines / browser (fire fox or chrome) despite clearing, I also tried disabling and adding cache and played with setting to no avail.
I changed the footer, it is showing on all but one category (link below), shows correct what is really weird is if I am logged in, it shows correctly but if I log out, and refresh browser, back to old footer / button set for that ONE category.
Ex problem category should show button set and updated footer like other pages
https://englebrookindependentnews.com/category/breaking-news/
Also I deleted a post and if I use fire fox or chrome on a different machine, post still exists despite clearing or restarting etc as well as the above problem with the one category.
Any one have a clue what to try??
Hello,
This morning everything was ok, about 1 hour ago the mobile theme disappeared.
I did all the required updates and reactivated Tag Div but nothing.
The site can no longer be seen on a mobile phone, but on a computer it can.
It’s urgent how do I solve it?
Thank you
Eleonora
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out for some assistance with a problem I’ve encountered on my website. I successfully imported a prebuilt site, which initially seemed to go smoothly. However, I ran into a significant issue when trying to edit the global header for all pages.
Every time I attempt to save changes to the global header, the saving process seems to hang indefinitely. There’s no error message or feedback; it simply keeps spinning without completing the save. This issue is preventing me from making any edits to the header, which is a crucial part of my site’s design.
I’ve tried the following steps to resolve the issue, but without success:
Clearing the browser cache and cookies.
Trying different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
Checking for updates for the website theme and plugins.
Restarting the website server.
I’m unsure if this is a common issue or something specific to my setup. I would greatly appreciate any guidance, suggestions, or solutions from anyone who has experienced a similar problem or knows how to resolve this issue. Your help is crucial for me to progress with my website development.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance!
Hello. I bought Newspaper a few months ago, I have been using Newsmag for many years. I was happy with the squad and decided to take the leap. But the new NewsPaper template doesn’t perform better for me, it’s a shame. Anyway, what am I going to do, I hope it improves with the updates.
To get better performance I am reviewing the entire forum. And the following doubts assail me:
Is tagDiv Critical CSS Tool useful for anything? Do I use it? Does it work or is it obsolete? If it’s obsolete, why don’t they remove it? Or why don’t they update it?
Thank you so much

Hello Pawel!
The child theme is not overwritten by the update. An issue for that could be the compatibility of your child theme with the new version of our theme.
If you have some custom modifications in the theme files, then better save the code and replace it after every update.
For every update, we always recommend the following:
-> First of all, please make sure you have a backup.
-> Please deactivate all the non-tested plugins with our theme before updating.
-> Update WordPress, PHP, the theme, and plugins to the latest version: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/.
-> Check all these requirements for the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Hello!
It seems there is a plugin conflict. Unfortunately, we cannot provide support for untested plugins. We will try to do our best in the next updates.
Thank you for understanding!
Hello @chaywood0896!
I’ve tried to replicate the issue on my end with the latest update of the theme and plugins, without any extra plugins that are not tested with our theme, and I couldn’t find this issue. That’s why I request your credentials to be checked on your end.
Thank you!
Hi guys,
my website https://proskarzysko.pl/ wasn’t updated for pretty long time.
At the moment I have Newspaper 7.7 child theme. Is there anything in particular I should take care of?
I’ll be grateful for hints.
Thank you.
Yours happy Newspaper user 🙂
Pawel
Across the board on all three of our sites, the hyperlinks for the Titles of each post are now underlined. This just randomly occurred. We can not find where to turn off the feature on the theme dashboard. Was there a recent update causing this? How do we resolve?

Have you updated your tdcomposer plugin to latest version which patches the issue?
(I dont work here)
Hello, the website is https://www.bajamareditores.com, it has the updated Newspaper theme but if I activate the tagDiv Composer plugin the website stops working giving this error: There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site administrator’s email inbox for instructions.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance,

After updating the globalenergy.mx site and the globalindustries.mx site, they presented malware that redirected the site to sales pages, most of the time if accessed from a mobile…
I managed to clean the globalindustries.mx site and it appears safely in sucri but it keeps redirecting me on mobile devices https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/globalindustries.mx
However, I updated the one from globalenergy.mx yesterday and it automatically appears as a risky site https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/globalenergy.mx
please help, me
Thanks for the insights Simion. Yes we’re on a very old version but can’t update for fear of breaking other things on the site (running an old version of WP and PHP).
My goal with editing style.css is to minify the style.css. It’s excessively large and causing speed issues with the site.
If directly editing style.css isn’t possible, can you recommend any other ways to minify it?
We use W3 Total Cache, which is supposed to support CSS minification, but it doesn’t appear to be doing this for style.css Maybe this is an incompatibility issue between the theme structure and W3 Total Cache, or maybe it is minifying style.css but not style.css?ver=3.2, which is the actual file being served?
I’ve tried kicking all available caches on /style.css and /style.css?ver=3.2, and what happens is I can see the minfification when I load /style.css, but when I load /style.css?ver=3.2, I only see the old code. And as I mentioned, the file that’s actually being serve to visitors is /style.css?ver=3.2.
Hello @Naseem786!
Did you build the pages with the TagDiv Composer?
We have 3 options for mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.
2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages
3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.
A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.
Thank you!
Hi,
That is the theme version. Newsmag 3.2 was released about 8 years ago. Maybe it would be worth considering to update the theme if possible.
I would not advise making modifications directly in the theme stylesheet. These will be lost when updating the theme or reinstalling it. Instead it would be better to load the CSS you want in other ways. You can override CSS from the theme or add new code by using other methods.
I’m not sure, but I believe that the theme used to have a custom CSS section back then as well https://prnt.sc/8o8D1tSccpH1 Could you please check? Or you could add CSS in the wordpress customizer panel https://prnt.sc/8E0yUhbSt5Tm -> https://prnt.sc/JBxjRTC_OlMe or with a plugin. Or through a child theme.
But if you want to modify the stylesheet directly, that should be possible.
Let us know if we can help or if you have questions. Assuming the code is valid, maybe all it needs to see the changes is to clear the cache, and purge the CDN files if you use one. But I would still suggest not doing it that way, and instead add the code you want in a different way. Could you please mention what modifications you want to make, or what code you want to add?
Thank you!
Hello,
A year ago, we set up Google Ads to display ads on our site and ran short-term ads through a campaign. Later, we gave up on advertising and ended the campaign. Since then, we have not made any updates to Google Ads and our site has run without any ads and without any problems.
However, a week ago, ads like this page and this page started to appear again on our site. However, we did not make any special settings for this. We checked the campaigns again in our Google account, we do not see any active campaigns.
We ask for your help and support in finding out the cause and solution of this.
We thank you in advance for your interest and support.
