Hello,
Please make sure you update your visual composer plugin to the latest version by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Then make sure your version of VC is 4.12.
If the problem is still there, then please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.
Hi,
There is a sticky thread just above where it is explained the procedure – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-update-visual-composer-2/ and also there is an update guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
You don’t have any license key for Visual Composer as it is already licensed to the theme. The latest theme version 7.3 contains the latest version of Visual Composer 4.12. When we release a new theme version we will include the latest Visual Composer version available on market.
Hope this helps!
Hello, my plugin requires an update but it requires a license. I red the documentation about you doing the upgrades for us.
When will it be updated?
can I do it myself right now. I really need to get to work. Thank you
Hello,
The new updated provided a new setting for the homepage. these elements can now be disabled separately for posts and for pages. The new setting can be found here: http://screencast.com/t/nSg3kKwb
Thank you!
Hi,
Yes, you will need to re-add these modifications after the theme update.
This happens because you try to access the theme’s index.php file directly and this is caused by the theme’s inability to locate the WordPress get_header function as it does not passed trough WordPress when the request is made and in that case the function doesn’t “exist”.
Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately I’m not sure as we have not tested this on our end. You can try to ditch the font entirely and adding it again in the custom fonts section and re-applying the settings in the fonts section. Maybe try to use another name for the font so it will create a new database entry. If you update to newspaper 7, the theme fonts are much easier to handle as they will be added to the media library and get pulled from there. (Much simpler)
Thank you!
I have the same problem, after this theme update: on homepage, the list of articles comes with author, post date and comment. Does somebody know how can we eliminate this 3 elements, from article list?

HI
Please make sure that you installed the theme and Visual Composer plugin according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ also try to deactivate all other plugin, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.
Thanks!
HI
For the moment this is the only option available, the block’s must be added manually which takes some times if you have many categories. We may have some additional options fro blocks in future theme’s updates which may optimize this process but I can’t promise anything for sure.
Thanks!
HI
Thanks for the recommendation. I will forward it to theme’s developers and they will consider it for future updates.
Have a nice day.
I’m using Newsmag version 2.3.6 and don’t want to update. The mobile menu and mobile search box looks terrible in the latest version.I did a test update, hated it so much, then reverted back to version 2.3.6.
My only problem with version 2.3.6 is that the image captions don’t display in smart lists.
Is there a simple patch I can use to fix this?
Hello, my site is running normally, but i can see this error in apache linux error.log file.
[Thu Aug 11 22:16:21 2016] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /var/www/mysite.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/index.php on line 6, referer: http://www.mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper
I can fix it using with:
<?php
if ( function_exists("get_header") ){
echo "The code";
}else{
echo "Show error";
}
?>
But if i do this, in the next update this will be overwritten.
Thanks.
td_global::$td_options = get_option(TD_THEME_OPTIONS_NAME); //read the theme settings once
Thank you for the update, works great..you just saved my life..lol..no but really!
I know this is old, but there seems to be a bug somewhere here. I moved the site and while I was able to update all the URLs for attachments and such, I’m running into a lot of problems getting the custom font urls changed.
I’ve tried the following:
– Going to the theme panel, then the custom fonts panel, and changing the font URLs. Changes appear to be successfully saved, but on review of the page source and the options in the db, the old URL to the fonts is still there.
– Going to the database and manually editing the field with the Newspaper settings (changing all references to the old URL to the new URL). After this, the theme reverted to defaults, as if it was unable to parse the options.
– Using the Export function, base64 decoding that file, again, search and replace on the URL, base64 encoding and importing back into Newspaper. Same effect as the database edit, theme reverted to defaults.
What other options to alter this?
I’m still on Newspaper6, I have no interest in starting over with Newspaper7, nor does the client.
tnx. will be nice if you can add this option to theme settings in next update.
Dear Support Team,
we are using the Theme on a main installation and 2 subdomains.
Everything was running fine until this morning. There were NO updates of plugins or the theme! It just appeared the internal server error on all 3 installations (same server).
If the maintenance mode switched on, everything works fine. Another theme works fine too as well as the Tag Div mobile theme.
What we already did:
Checking for Corrupt .htaccess File –> NOPE
Increasing the PHP Memory Limit –> Should be fine
Deactivate all Plugins –> Doesn’t help
Re-uploading Core Files –> Wp-inclues and wp-admin –> Doesn’t work
Contact Provider –> Said the theme must be the problem
Reinstalling the theme –> Doesn’t help
Switched the theme and everything was running fine!
We are slowly desperating about this issue.
Domain: hubsociety.co –> in maintenance / thai.hubsociety.co –> live (docents work only mobile running fine) / ph.hubsociety.co –> in maintenance
We are looking forward to hear from you soon!
Best,
Armin
Thank you. I updated the Theme to 7.3. Visual Composer was already 4.12. Where do I find the update for the social counter plugin? I thought it was included with Theme updates, but my plugin remains at version 3.1 even after the theme update. I’ve checked Envato and the update download for the social counter plugin.
Thanks, tom
Hello,
Before we request the login info please try one thing. Newspaper 7.3 requires version 4.12 of visual composer to work properly. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and make sure your version of visual composer is 4.12
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

ceppetto.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/vc_templates/vc_row.php (on line 55)
please let me now if yo need login credentials via email.
Thx! regards,

Hello Piyush Bandi,
Please notice that your version of Visual Composer is outdated. First of all, please download the latest version of the Envato Market using your account and then install the theme via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Then, you will have to remove the old version of the Visual Composer and install the version which comes bundled with the latest version of the theme (->Newspaper 7.3 with Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1), clear all your caches and check the results. For more information about how you can update your Visual Composer, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Please notice that you will have to keep the step with each updating of the theme.
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hello ttalleur,
Please try to update the theme to the latest version of it (Newspaper 7.3) and also, please ensure that you have fully installed all the required plugins to the latest version of them (Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1), clear all your caches and test it again. Also, if your problem is still there after this advice, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Notice that the theme update should be made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. For more references in this regard, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!

Thank you. It works.! One thing more. The Visual composer was in the file, Is it necessary buy a license? Before theme updated I was using but Now I can not edit
thank you again!
Hello VoZz,
Sorry for the inconvenience. There seems to be a CSS issue in the new update on the mobile theme. Please use this CSS code in the mobile theme’s custom code box:
.td-post-author-name div { display:inline; }
Thank you for your understanding!
