I’ve done the same too. The problems is that Google Console Search shows errors. It seems that for Google “updated” element is necessary. I assume you could not find this element in the source, right?

Could it be somehow related with the fact, that I turned off showing dates of publications on all pages?

The plugin conflicts with our theme because of this line of code: http://screencast.com/t/6DlBqnYI9z By removing that line the plugin will work fine but the page mega menu won’t be displayed anymore. The mega menu page generated by the theme retrieve the content using this WordPress filter: 'the_content' and I suspect that the plugin does the same. In this situation the plugins implementation has to be changed such that its action to be applied only on the post content, not on the content from page mega menu. The problem with Newsmag theme is that MyEffecto apply its action to fast. The theme can control when a plugin acts only if have a rewrite rule. To write such a rule is necessary to study plugin’s implementation and update the code in order to make it compatible with the current theme.
I am not aware whit what themes did you test the plugin before but if those themes did not have a feature like mega menu or page mega menu, the plugin might have had a different behavior.
Our theme have many specific features which have a specific implementation in order to return the best result. However we cannot make the theme compatible with all plugins available out-there. Unfortunately the time doesn’t allow as to offer plugin implementation support. This is a task which involve custom work and falls beyond the support can offer you.
Also we’re aware of the piracy in our days and this is not realy a situation we can handle it. There is a big difference between using a pirated version and a premium version which allow you to have unlimited updates and support for differents bugs which may appear from a considerable number of reasons.
I am not saying that that the plugin’s author wrote the plugin in a wrong way. I am saying that the theme’s code and the plugin’s code must be updated such that one piece to be compatible whit the other. This situations happens because every author have its own way to code and it’s almost impossible to write a code for such a huge project, as Newsmag theme, and be compatible with any plugin written by a different author.
If you are unsatisfied with the theme we provided or it’s features, or the support, or if you need extra features for your project that our theme cannot provide, you can request a refund at evnato and we will agree with it.

Also I’ve cheeked your site and noticed that the og:title is setup correct: http://screencast.com/t/J1AyaLNWi68J
I am not sure why that page appear with a wrong tile in google’s search result but this can also be a google’s issue. If you changed the page tile recently it will take a while until google will index your page again in order to update the new informations.

@paty0323 please note that is a public forum and any one can see the information posted here, so I removed your login details.
Make sure you did a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ update also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. If you’re using child theme deactivate it during the update process, switch to default wp theme.
During the update process deactivate all plugins, and after the update is complete enable them back one by one and cheek if the site’s functionality is affected or not by one of your plugins.

I had version 6.6.3 where those problems should have been resolved. I’ve uppgraded to 6.6.4 now, but it won’t help this problem if I understood your release notes correctly.

Please doublecheck that your theme published “updated” element for google markup.

This is a problem related with the last update of WordPress but we fix it in the last theme version. Try to update the theme at the curen version available on themeforest, V 2.3.5, https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ clear all caches and test again.

Please make sure that you installed the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ This seams to be a css issue so please check in browser console if there are any error related with css files. Usually should be a 403 or 404 error. Also you can try to log in via ftp and rename the plugins folder, just to make sure that the issue is not caused by a plugin. If the problem persist try to reinstall the theme following the steps indicated in our documentation, clear all caches, leave all plugins deactivated and test again.

If you have cleared and reset any caching plugin and didn’t help, then …

Your best bet is to do a clean install of the theme. Upload the theme via FTP (don’t use the pokey Envato updater), upload the updated plugins included with theme — then login and make sure you can login.

Make sure you have full backup before doing anything.

Please let me know if you can look into this and find out what is wrong. I checked with the support of VC and they said :

The issue is because there is an inbuilt version of Visual Composer (or the related code) present in your theme which is overriding the standalone plugin version and hence causing the issue. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.

Ok so you’re basically saying – its best to just get a list of files updated for each version and update all of those (assuming they are not the ones you customized, and at that point, you’ll need to update and then make the same changes) ??

In other words, the child theme – wouldn’t be that helpful in this situation?

What about after I make the file updates (assuming they aren’t the files customized by me). How do I get the theme to show that its of the proper update version – just so I can keep track of where I’m at?
