Hello,

We suggest you update the theme to the latest version in order to have full compatibility. We have not tested the latest version of the plugin with our old theme version. We cannot say for sure if it will work on version 4 or not (newspaper 6 was built from scratch). You can try it out but we cannot guarantee their compatibility.

Unfortunately the new version of Social Counter was not tested with old version of the theme. I inspected your site and I saw that you don’t have even the version 4 of the theme, you use version 3. The plugin was updated for many times from that version and we always use the latest version of the theme to recreate client’s issues on our side and I cannot provide you a solution.

I see that you use version 6 of the theme so I guess you want to update to the latest version 6.5.1, please check this guide(A,B,C) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and update also the plugins that come with the theme files. There is also 2 video tutorials how to update the theme.

All the modifications to the theme files will be overwritten when you update the theme and you will have to re-add all the customizations except the custom CSS from Theme panel. If not what do you mean, please provide me more details.

I see that you use old version, please upgrade to the latest version of the theme using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and update also the plugins provided with the theme(Visual Composer, Social Counter..).
If you use an older version that 4, I recommend to do a clean install and recreate your homepage and check all the new theme features, blocks, modules. Please note that the Newspaper6 is practically a new theme, the whole code was rewritten, so old files customization or custom css will not works and you need to adjust it.

The documentation you read is about how to implement a custom post type. If you are looking to find how to create one, you can read this topic: https://codex.wordpress.org/Post_Types
Our documentation basically describes how you can use CPT with our theme and provides a demo custom post type called Books. The theme automatically detect custom post types and provides a few settings in the theme panel for them.
Please note that implementation of custom post types is still limited and it requires customization to make it work with our theme modules and blocks.
In future updates we will implement better CPT support and a more detailed explanation in our documentation.
