i’ve added this to our issue tracker. The excerpts are based on words for now and that’s why it fails. I want to add an option to cut the excerpt by character (japanese characters). That will work for you? Can you wait until we get out the next update?

currently there is no workaround for that but we are expecting to release an update by next week.
Radu, It would be nice to have a compressed option for speed or just assume that anyone that is editing the CSS should know that they would need to modify the compressed version as well.
Maybe just an option in the customizer to choose a compressed version of CSS or default being a uncompressed version.
NOTE: the only reason I don’t compress it myself is to avoid complications with updates since the theme is updated regularly. Not wanting to compress CSS manually twice a month.
If the worst issue I encounter with the theme is css minification I’m just fine so thank you either way

You have to delete the ads section from logo_ad.php file and than from css you can make a bigger logo. We are working on an update to let you use full width logos.

Actually, Marius from tagDiv *did* put the instructions in his reply to the original query. So far everybody at tagDiv has been doing pretty well in replying and responding to fixes for a work in progress. They are doing a tremendous job; and I particularly admire them for doing a very hard thing with modern responsive design — I know, we tried to build our own similar to this recently and literally lost some hair over it. Even for a static B2B site we’re redoing (our main site that pays the bills), dealing with responsive + HTML5 + PageSpeed + CSS/js optimization is a nightmare to “do it right.” I’ve suffered a LOT of poor coding, bloated frameworks on top of WordPress that get abandoned or won’t update, custom panels that break, and hideous custom hooks that modify WP dbases with additional fields that are not needed, and won’t go away when changing themes, etc. — So far these folk are doing a GREAT job, in my opinion, so be sure to show them the love whenever possible. Just sayin’.
I would also recommend adding a folder called /mods/ in your root for the theme, and put backups of your mod files there (meaning the files you make mods to – put the MODIFIED versions in there). This is a handy reminder when you go to do a manual update via FTP, to go “oh. duh. I need to over-write the new files with my mod files…”
Obviously, child theme support for these elements via functions.php would be preferable, but I haven’t gotten that far.

Custom taxonomies is something that we will address in the next update. We are working to improve the data source part of the modules. If events calendar uses custom taxonomies, the blocks will be able to pull the events. I think we tested the plugin in a page setup.

the headline/title for a story on the post pages should not be linkable to itself. Traditionally this should not be “active” text as it’s the <h1> title for the page where it lives and not a link to internal or external site content.
Google News in particular has trouble indexed/scanning pages where the headline on the page is not set as unlinked as a title for an article should not link anywhere.
I am going to go so far as to identify this as a *Bug* as this behavior should be OFF for any publishing site.
Is there an easy fix for this, or can it be added to the bug track for update?
This should be a “hack” to make headline clickable, not the other way around on the post page.

Will there be a minified CSS in an update? Currently any plugins to minify seem to break the website and having more than 4 CSS files seems to be a negative mark on Google SERPS as well as load time.

I managed to translate all the text, however there are 2 of them which is unchangeable:

I found the issue, I forgot to delete my cache between updates and it created an issue with the way content was showing. After deleting my cache and refreshing the pages everything seems to be fine.
It seems that some of my excerpts are showing wrong since the update. I am getting a forward slash in some of the descriptions as well as some of them only showing only the first 4 or 5 words. You can see what I mean by visiting the following page:

1. If you want your images o fit perfectly on all site you must have at last 745 x 483px image size. Here is a diagram with all sizes used by the theme: http://import.tagdiv.com/newspaper/doc/#start
If you have content just use that plugin and this will recreate all the thumbnails. http://import.tagdiv.com/newspaper/doc/#existing-content
2. The demo content just create some posts(4-5) and some pages, you can delete it if you want, this not affect the existing content.
3. If you want to have perfect fill the size should be at last 745 x 483px. If you have bigger will be cropped at 745 x 483px.
