Database errors after the last update. 504, 500 errors server gets hit with hundreds of processes and shuts down.

I have the latest update of the theme, but my Instagram Footer Section is empty.
I already clean the cache of the website, disable and activated the option in the theme panel and everything is empty, no posts, nothing, only the “title.”

A bit more than 24 hours ago, my WordPress site, which has been happily running on the NewsMag theme for a few months, stopped responding, giving me a “Error Establishing a Database Connection” error instead of my content. I had updated to NewsMag 4.3 a couple of weeks ago, but there were no other changes the preceded this problem. Upon further investigation, my database connection became unusable because WordPress initiated a huge number of connections with the database and didn’t shut them down afterwards. Upon looking at those MySQL processes, the ones that stuck around were SLEEP processes–they did appear to be long queries, or anything like that.

In an effort to solve the problem, I disabled plugins, and that did not help. NewsMag 4.4 was released today, so I tried updating to that. That did not help. I tried using a larger database, and WordPress simply consumed whatever number of connections I gave it, yielding the “Error Establishing a Database Connection” error. So using a dedicated database with 16 GB RAM was not enough to handle the connections.

Finally, when I switched from NewsMag to the “2015” theme that comes with WordPress, my problems went away. With the same load, the database now handles only a few requests from WordPress rather than having 40+ of them killing my database connectivity. Whatever the problem is, it seems to be associated with the theme not playing nicely with something in my environment.

I run nginx 1.10.3 on ubuntu with PHP 7.0.30 and php-fpm. As noted the system was working fine until around 19:00 UTC on May 23, 2018. I use WordPress 4.9.6.

Does NewsMag support have any idea what in the theme could cause generation of lots of MySQL SLEEP queries that do not go away on their own? How can I stop this?

I’ve updated the latest Newspaper version to 8.7.5 and using social counter 4.4. Caches emptied, no change to the count.

I also get a 502 Bad Gateway error whenever I try to use the TagDiv Composer.

just after the update to Newsmag 4.4 I have a problem with the column on the homepage.
Then I decided to delete the Newsletter plugin but… doesn’t work.

Any suggestion to solve it? Thanks!!

After the update the home page of my website modoemprendedor.com got messed up. Apparently it is a problem with tagdiv composer plugin. I deleted the plugin and installed it again following instructions given after the update but nothing changed. I can see it is not only me with the same problem and none of our questions have been answered. Help please!!

There have been many messages today about version 8.7.5 making a mess of the Newspaper theme. Can someone please update?

I have 2 copies of your theme for my two sites, and I am having the same issue for both of them.

In order to do the upgrade to the latest version, I have deleted the plugins and deleted the Newspaper theme, and uploaded the new versions that you have provided in the latest update. My homepage shows up as blank? I have flushed the cache and tried several times.

Im wondering if this is a visual composer thing? Because I used visual composer when I first created these pages??

Yesterday updated to Newspaper 8.7.5. I saw that my mobile version of the site didn’t work so I deleted the former mobile plugin and then tried to install the new mobile plugin from the package.

When I do that I get:

Sorry, your request cannot be accepted.

So, now I no longer have a mobile version of my site but I realy need it.

Please some help from support or users who solved this problem.

after the update, when I click on Theme panel i cant click on anything there. No buttons make any action.

I can’t even activate my theme as the Activate button also does nothing.

I reinstalled the theme and problem persists.

I’ve just tried updating my Newsmag theme with your recent update, but after uploading all the files, I get HTTP Error 500 on the site. I’ve then reversed the update and uploaded previous theme version, and the problem was fixed. I did update it again, and the same thing happened – error 500 – and after reversing the update, the error is fixed again. So the HTTP Error 500 is definitely being caused by your new theme update.

Any thoughts?

The update has uploaded 9 images of few gadgets, pizza, a Chinese photo shot guy. The images are name tdm_pic_3 tdm_pic_4….

The images are added automatically when I am trying to delete.

You guys have really messed up the theme with the new update. This is really upsetting and pathetic.

after updating my theme to the latest my whole website is crash, wordpress software comunication disconnect with the wordpress and got error on opening wp side. i come back to the previous version of the theme but still my problem didnot resolve, how i will recover my site ? i don’t have fresh backup of my site, the main problem is wordpress software is also did not comunicate with wordpress site

A problem arises when writing in visual mode and publishing the content is not published, as you can see in the photos, that’s why I have to go back to the version version 4.9.6 wordpress
You also lose the part that says SIDEBAR (see pictures)
