Use the visual composer which comes with the theme as it’s optimized to work with theme and is bundled version, and does not require a license code.
Hi,
In the last version of Visual Composer the classes have changed and the buttons that we haven styled lost their css, we have this on our todo list and we are working on it unfortunately we still have incompatibility issues regarding VC style.
I can find a solution for this in this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/buttons/#post-21804
Or you can try to use this custom css:
.vc_btn{
border-radius: 0px;
background-image: none;
background: #4db2ec !important;
color: white;
border: none;
text-shadow: none;
font-family: 'Roboto Condensed', sans-serif;
font-weight: normal;
font-size: 14px;
padding: 5px 12px 7px 12px !important;
margin-bottom: 4px;
transition: opacity 0.4s;
}
.vc_btn:hover {
text-shadow: none;
opacity: 0.8;
-webkit-transition: opacity 0.4s;
-moz-transition: opacity 0.4s;
-o-transition: opacity 0.4s;
transition: opacity 0.4s;
text-decoration: none !important;
color: white;
}
Hope this helps!
Sorry about this!
Hello again,
it seems that the problem is in Visual Composer plugin. When I setup my homepage to display posts without the VC plugin it works correctly, but then I do not have the infinite scroll option.
Is there a way to use infinite scroll without using Page Builder that comes with Visual Composer plugin?
Regards,
Hi,
Have you looked at the screen I have sent you?
The only one you need to use is the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin, others you can remove if you don’t plan to use and I have stated here what each of them does.
Thanks
Hello,
I have written my “own” Module/Block (based on td_block_6 and td_module_6). This is working fine, when I use it as a shortcode, frontend is fine.
But it destroys the whole Visual Composer View, as the composer does not unerstand my newly created module/block/shortcode. I have called it “60” (as its based on your Module 6)
The textual line in the visual composer (classic view) looks like this:
[td_block60 limit=”60″ custom_title=”News Digest” ajax_pagination=”next_prev” installed_post_types=”news” sub_cat_ajax=”n”]
My Question: Where do I have to “register” my new Block/Module with Visual Composer (which File/Registry/Database-Entry or whatever) so that Visual Composer will unterstand my new Module/Block? ( I have searched the plugins\js_composer\config\map.php but this seem to be used not for the blocks/modules but for almost all other elements…)
Thanks very much for Help!
You can’t use the codes and elements from Newspaper in other themes, as you likely have discovered.
The codes, Visual Composer, etc., included with this theme are designed to work with this theme. Custom Shortcodes built into this theme won’t work with a different theme.
However “standard” blocks which are part of Visual Composer should work in different theme provided you have a licensed copy of Visual Composer…..
Be sure to deactivate the visual composer that came with this theme, delete it, then install the version from your new theme or the version you have purchased.
Do a search on the forum as this is common problem with “some” server setups when trying to use the visual composer; where you might need to increase a setting for php on your domain account.
Fixed O.O
I should really hire you @Steven for my website 😉 haha

Hi,
The only plugin that is essential for the theme is the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin, the rest are recommended to be used with the theme or to get access to some features: http://screencast.com/t/4d8gR9lSQnH
Thanks
That’s what i thought, because i couldn’t find any topics relating to this.

Hi,
@FRMedia1981
I have tested the buttons short-codes using theme version 4.4. and didn’t find any issue with the buttons, i have also tested your button’s short-code and shown up well: http://screencast.com/t/nMEd85f4Z
Please make sure you add the code like this in your post: http://screencast.com/t/8aqcWd9atp
If this issue is still present please deactivate all plugins then empty cache and try again.
@webministeren
On the latest version of Visual Composer some classes were changed by it’s developer and we had to override them so that the plugin would still work with the theme. In the process the buttons css was lost. We have the issue on our list and we’ll try to fix it in one of the next updates. Sorry for the inconvenience.
You can use this custom css to style the button, like this: http://screencast.com/t/7WSQoASk
.vc_btn-green.vc_btn_3d {
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 5px 0 #53812d;
box-shadow: 0 5px 0 #53812d;
margin-bottom: 5px;
}
.vc_btn-green {
background-color: #6dab3c;
color: #ffffff !important;
-webkit-transition: all 0.5s;
-o-transition: all 0.5s;
transition: all 0.5s;
}
.vc_btn {
border: 1px solid transparent;
cursor: pointer;
display: inline-block;
text-decoration: none !important;
}
.vc_btn-lg {
padding: 10px 16px;
font-size: 18px;
line-height: 1.33;
border-radius: 6px;
}
Thanks
hi,
Please use this guide and re-install the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin from the plugins folder.
Please let me know if this solves this issue.
Thanks
Hi,
Thank Christopher!
@Stephanieb Please make sure you also empty all cache files and purge files if you use any CDN or cache plugins and with all plugins disabled check again for this issue, this should not happen so it must be generated by a plugin.
If nothing works please send an e-mail at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your wp-admin user and pass so we can check this, please also send a link to this topic or specify your issue in details.
Thanks
Hi,
I am trying to add some custom css to my homepage via the option in the visual composer – so that it applies it just for that page.
I tested some custom css earlier which worked fine but it now will not delete or update. I put the code in and there are no errors but when I press save nothing happens. If I click close and then update and go back in the code I put in is gone and the old code I used earlier to test with is back.
Thanks 🙂
@davistar OMG i did not even know that was there,lol now i can see the block 10
How would people know that you had to go in the “Visual Composer Settings” and then click on User groups access rules to see those features…if you did not let us know that i guess some of us will be still wondering..thx for the tip..
Hi,
I can assure you that it isn’t happening, all files are there.
Please make sure that you have followed the steps I have mentioned above and also if you use CDN purge files, this may deliver old content and generate this issue.
If nothing works please send an e-mail at contact@tagdiv.com so we can check and provide wp-admin user and pass, also specify your issues details.
Thanks
So, when you go to create a “page” you don’t see option to use Visual Composer once you choose a template from right side of new page creation page?
Visual Composer appears when you create a page, NOT in the theme panel. You can’t create content with the VC in the theme control panel, only on a page where you add content.
Like here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates/
Perhaps I’m missing what the problem is?
Marius, Lucian, et al will be back online Monday; I’m just trying to be helpful but I do not work here 🙂
Hi, I just bought Newspaper 4 theme a few days ago and am still going through the whole theme. I was thrilled to find you can use Visual Composer since it seems to be included. However, after I installed the plugin, I went to the license part and entered my data:
—————————————————————————
Visual Composer Settings / Product License
Envato Username: xxxxxxxx
Secret API key: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Visual Composer License Key: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Invalid liense key. Please check information in your envato profile.
—————————————————————————
I checked my envato account profile and API key and generated an additional API key, and re-entered all the data. However, I still get the invalid license key error. Can you help? Thanks.
Hi,
Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ and install the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin from the plugins folder that came with the theme files.
Then please disable all plugins and then regenerate thumbnails, also remember to empty cache.
If this dose not solve this issue please send your wp-admin user and pass at contact@tagdiv.com so we can check this, also send a link to this topic or specify your issues details.
Thanks
Hi,
@aundrey
Please make sure you follow this guide and add the logo like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/header/
Regarding the Visual Composer plugin if it’s active and you are seeing it in page editing panel like this: http://screencast.com/t/F34n2RTJ
If you don’t have it like in the screenshot you will have to make sure you install it right, for this please use this guide and install the plugin from plugins folder that came with the theme files: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Please let me know what you find and also please send your site’s URL.
Thanks
Heya,
First of all, I’m far from the most brilliant guy on tagDiv. If I were, we wouldn’t have spent have a dozen posts correcting my tiny mistakes 😉 I’ll give that title to Chris to avoid favouritism among the actual staff…
Your ideal setup definitely requires some custom work that I don’t have time to provide at the moment. I would go to http://studio.envato.com, as tagDiv recommends — or you could do some learning, just like I did, and do it yourself 😀 But I will make a few comments:
Having content in these tabs that differs from post to post means you’ll either need to make extensive use of custom fields, or you could use Visual Composer settings to build the post itself. The question is what are you using the regular post content for? A comment on the phone, for example?
The first option would mean that you’d insert code similar to what I’ve been giving you, and have it appear on every template, using custom fields to determine the content. For example, as you probably know, ACF has a WYSIWYG editor field that you could use for your review. The buy now would not be as easy to automate through such a field, in my opinion (but you may already have a solution and just be looking for how to use tabs for it?).
The second option is that you’d construct these posts in the editor itself using Visual Composer, and then perhaps use custom shortcodes to display the content of your fields.
Or a real developer might suggest some much more sensible solution. :p
But I will give you one last thing, namely a basic tweak of my above code just for your “Features” tab.
The idea is the same. You’re opening up a vc_tabs, you’re opening up a tab, and then you’re looping through features-related fields. It could look like this, with lots of extra comments and line breaks to make it clear for you:
// Update this list using the same format for all the field names you want
$field_names = ['2g_network', '3g_network'];
// Set up tabs
$to_echo = '[vc_row][vc_column width="1/1"][vc_tabs]';
// Set up features tab
$to_echo .= '[vc_tab title="Features" tab_id="features"]';
// Begin a list
$to_echo .= '<ul class="features_list">';
// Loop through the fields
foreach ($field_names as $field_name) {
$data = get_field_object($field_name);
// Check if we have a value and set to a default if not
if ($data['value']) {
$value = $data['value'];
} else {
$value = 'No information on record.';
}
$to_echo .= '<li>' . '<span class="features_label">' . $data["label"] . ': </span>';
$to_echo .= '<span class="features_value">' . $value . '</span></li>';
}
// Close the list
$to_echo .= '</ul>';
// Close the tab
$to_echo .= '[/vc_tab]';
// Close the tab group etc.
$to_echo .= '[/vc_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row]';
// We have to filter the whole string to make WP interpret the shortcodes
$to_echo = wpb_js_remove_wpautop($to_echo);
// Output
echo $to_echo;
My note above about only needing to change $field_names applies to this as well.
If you were going to put other tabs in, you would modify the lines that open and close the tab groups, and use those in a similar way. I realize that this is just a simple list and not a table like you wanted — more research would be needed for me to construct a way of getting the label of the field group and such…
Hope that helps. I do think what you need isn’t just “support” but custom work, although it will be fantastic if you can figure the rest out by research, trial and error.
Best of luck!
Hi,
@sgaddo
We still have incompatibility issues regarding VC style, we are currently working to a new grid which will support all VC elements.
If you like the buttons styled that way you can keep that solution but I can’t tell in what way will affect your site, you will have to keep in mind this changes and refer to it if you encounter any issues.
@reenamn
In the last version of Visual Composer the classes have changed and the buttons that we haven styled lost their css, we have this on our todo list and we are working on it. Sorry for the inconvenience. You could try to use a plugin for that until we can provide a fix for this.
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
We know about this issue which happens when using the Google Analytics by Yoast plugin.
I have checked your site and noticed that you also use it: http://screencast.com/t/nPwcvBm0jvyl
We have already wrote to plugins author so we can find a solution for this, you can also write to their support page: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/google-analytics-for-wordpress
We are trying to fix this but unfortunately is more difficult than we initially tooth. You can deactivate the plugin in order to make links work and until we find a solution for this.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks for the message!
I created a front page with my newspaper theme. It is the latest version (4.3) and WP 4.0.
I used an element in the visual composer called “Slide.” It creates a single image in the block, tied to a category of posts. The element appears on the front page. The image is there, along with the title of the post, category, date etc.
The title of the element links correctly to the article because I manually set it in the element settings. This works for now only because I have it limited to one article. But that manual link won’t work if there are two or three articles showing in the slideshow.
But the image itself and the title of the post are not hyperlinked correctly. They appear to be hyperlinked if you hover over them with your mouse. And the URL showing at the bottom of the browser when hovering is correct. But the link will not work.
Front page here – http://smartoncrimetexas.com/
Top left image is the one.
I can provide login credentials privately if needed.
